Jack’s cracking me up with the Shining quotes… “Wise words”… Im glad to hear about this one will have to check it out.
Definitely going to have to rewatch this one because there is so much going on in the background, though that milk shower near the end was very in-your-face considering the main character's Mommy issues. Brian (the mom's boyfriend) is played by the same actor as the teenage-old man character (Trevor) from Travellers, which distracted me whenever he was on screen until I figured out what I knew him from. Lol.

This actually sounds a lot like 'Next of Kin', a really decent psychological horror from 1982. The premise is similar with the young female protagonist inheriting an care home for the elderly out in the Australian countryside with a troubled past concerning murder. The murders resume and things build to a surprising twist. Like I mentioned the film is Australian and definitely fits in with the whole Ozploitation scene of early 80's cinema.
The CZcams reviewer Brandon Tenold did a recent video on it, which makes me glad because it really deserves more recognition among contemporary horror fans. #Comejogwithus
I'd recommend looking into Moon Garden (2023). It's listed as a fantasy but is more like if Tim Burton directed a Hellraiser movie. Good review of Bad Things. Made me want to watch it last night.
#COMEJOGWITHUS!
The Shining meets Room 1408.
If you're actually wanting to sleep with your mom it's Oedipus complex. If you're just really into older women who can play the mommy role it's a Persophone/Demeter complex.
🌠
The more you know.
I'm literally going to be staying at a hotel tomorrow night. Not with any girlfriends though, sadly.
Suffice to say, I will definitely be urging people to #ComeJogWithUs because it's always more the merrier with haunted hotels!
#ComeJogWithUs
Nothing good ever has come from an invitation to go jogging.
Sounds like intriguing film, thank you.
I have to ask is "Cosmonauts 6" good name for a fictional all female psychedelic band.

For me Molly was the best part of the movie ,it wasn't as good as I personally hoped for ,however I do get why others would enjoy it better then I do . Great video by the way guys.
#comejogwithus this film made me feel stressed and confused. I dont actually know if I liked it or not 🙈
#Comejogwithus I really need check the movie Out i heard it's the Spoof of the Shining
Better casting would have elevated this movie a lot. There was no chemistry or tension between the actresses, to the point where I didn’t realize the two were a couple for SO long. It’s a queer movie with no believable sexuality, which is a shame.
Also, the themes they were going for weren’t clear or fleshed out. The whole thing with the mom and how that toxic relationship is driving the madness from behind the scenes is just confusing. I’m guessing it’s making a point about how we learn to do relationships from our parents, how stable and secure connections in childhood is essential to healthy relationships in adulthood, etc
Also, what does and doesn’t actually happen is so unclear. How much is in Ruthie’s mind?
I loved the aesthetic, the color palette, the whole look and feel of the movie, and found it quite creepy and artful.

We got everything you need.

I see passion (for jogging) in your eyes.
#Comejogwithus
We are (jogging) free.
sorry...
That's the general consensus: The Shining for queer-friendly women. Two of the actress are transgender and one of the transgender actress is non-binary genderfluid (I think). Ruthie definitely had Mommy issues and is an angry vagina version of Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. And I think Ruthie murdering Cal and Maddie with a chainsaw is in her head because NO ONE REACTED TO IT in the background. Wouldn't you witness a woman murdering two other women with a fucking chainsaw, you would call 911. There are a couple of sightings of younger Ruthie which, to me, tells me something bad happened to Ruthie in the hotel, maybe done by her mother or not. I overall liked it. It's not bad and it's not great either.
#ComeJogWithMe
The “bad thing” that happened to Ruthie in the hotel in childhood is explicitly explained, and it is pretty horrific. Her mother dropped her off at the hotel in the dead of winter to stay there with her grandma, but she didn’t check that the grandma was there. She was not there. So Ruthie was left there, alone, with no heat or food or power, for 3 days, and nearly lost three fingers to frostbite. It is an extremely traumatic and messed up experience.
Think the associations with The Shining goes against that film, because the plot and the tensions are completely different in both movies.
The model joggers are totally unnecessary imo. The other ghosts are ok, because one of the is the main chacter from her childhood.
The film is much too messy and plotless, but there are some good aspects like the creepy atmosphere, the story of the mother, which should be more developed. The ending was riddiculous. I would not watch it again.
I’m usually with these guys in movie reviews but this movie was awful in my opinion.
