This was very helpful! I've been single all my life and while some days I love it, other days I yearn for a relationship. I'm learning to let go and let God, because if and when he wants me to be in a relationship it shall happen. I'm currently going through this season as well and for the past month I've been hearing God tell me to "embrace the wait" and I decided to make a video on my channel about singleness and embracing that wait, which I actually uploaded the other day!

I found this so encouraging. Not only do I struggle with singleness and fear of the future, but I also got a really bad grade in my first education course. And my dream is to be a teacher. Was having the most crummy day, and thankful that God sent me this video.

Thank you Bethany for your testimony. It's been an encouragement for me to watch you and Kristen's video of being single and being a woman of God these last several days. I feel lifted up in the sense that I'm not alone in waiting and I'm not weird for wanting God's best. Your guy's videos has reminded me and has lead me to hold to my singleness more because it is worth the wait. It's fine to be single and wait for God's best.
I was spending some quiet time this morning and I wanted to share with you (and anybody else that reads this comment) God's encouragement for me. I found it in Abraham and Sarai's story. Abraham ranted to God about not having his own line of children to inherit his work but God promised him, he will have a child of his own. I believe as husband and wife, Abraham shared with Sarai the promise that God gave him. Yet Sarai still gave her maid to Abraham which lead to a lot of heartache for Sarai (jealousy, discontent, anger, sadness, etc.). Even though Sarai acted against God's plans, she still wasn't big enough or strong enough to change His plans. In the end, God still gave her a child. After reading this, I realized Sarai didn't need to go through all that heartache if she trusted in God. The results were the same, she gave Abraham a son. So in conclusion, we are very little and we don't have the power to change God's ultimate plans. When we take things under our control and out of God's hands then what is at stake is our own hearts that He has been protecting. Trust Him and He will give you your heart's desires!
I guess this is my story to remind myself to hold fast onto God and never stop trusting Him because He holds my heart dearly!!!

I'm 20 years turning 21 this year and just got out of a 4 year relationship. It's so scary because its been so long since I have been single and I don't even know how to deal with all the emotions that comes with the breakup. Molefe Tsholanang I'm going through the same thing; Three-quarters of a year ago, I got out of my first and only relationship (of 5 and a half years) so I know just how difficult what you're going through can be.
I'm currently about 9 months in, and overall, I'm feeling great! More accurately, I'd say, "I'm feeling waay better!" because there are going to be times when you'll miss be in a relationship with that person, or even just being in a relationship in general. Despite this, something that can (and will) really help you is if you take this time to really focus on your relationship with God. I know this is something I extremely need to work on and prioritize, but it truly is something you need to do--especially in a time of singleness. God bless, and best wishes! c:

There was a specific time when I gave God the pen to write my love story and it was so liberating! Then there was a time when someone preached from the book of Ruth, and in that Word I heard God say that He will order my steps, and seasons where I feel various emotions, those times will come, and go. Also, I've been praying that I'll get to the place where I know that I will truly be content whether marriage was in my future or not, 'cause after all, I am here for Him. Another thing is not even viewing myself as single as my status. I'm simply a Daughter of the King. The King who loves me and calls me beautiful. My worth is in Him. So, I will be content in my relationship with Him, live life serving him, and go where He leads. If he leads me to marriage, GREAT, but if not I'm already loved fiercely. Someone is already head over heels in love with me - Jesus Christ. I seek to ALWAYS remember His A-MAZING love for me!!

Ahh what a great reminder...that the same God I worship is the same God did all the wondrous things in the Bible. Just wow. Such praise for Him fills my heart, and it's so humbling and so uplifting at the same time! I get along with guys really well so I have never thought that I would never find someone...BUT with this guy who is not my husband/boyfriend but feels the same way, I don't know if he will find someone else in the next few years and the idea brings so much insecurity, heartache and fear in my heart. But to know that the God in the Bible is the ruler of my life, every aspect in it, and has a plan for me that will truly prosper me is so incredibly comforting...thanks Bethany! Subscribed!

I'm not Christian although I was raised Catholic but I do believe in God and I think that the way you relate the bible to our lives in 2016 is really amazing. Own i'm so glad to see this video! I never had a boyfriend, not yet, so for me is very hard to hear some comments from others about my love-life, mostly from my parents and friends. When I realized you are single I was shocked! How could guys be so blind? God must have a really amazing guy for you if He is guarding you from a relationship right now. You are such an inspiration and the more I watch your videos the more I desire to be like Christ and be who He made me to be. Your focus on Christ is so encouraging and it helps me to focus more on Him and forget (and sometimes get to the point where I don't even care anymore) about dating and guys in my life. Recently, I was discouraged about the fact that I am 28 and have never had a boyfriend, even though I'm content most of the time, honestly, and don't worry about it. And I started praying about it and God showed me two things: 1. If it's not the Lord's will for me to find a companion, He has my best interests and knows what I need and don't need and He knows if a man will pull me away from Him and lose out. 2. If He could bring water from a rock, He could bring a man for me out of nowhere, if it was His will. This post reminded me of that.

I'm only in high school and I have never been in a relationship or even kissed a guy, but it seems like everyone has done this. I always end up crushing on the guys that are wayyy out of my standards or the guys that don't care about me. I'm a big fan of love and all it entails. I love reading romantic books and watching romantic movies. Of course this worldly standard of love and romance is not what God plans for us. But I have gotten so into the idea, that I feel as though that when I actually get into a relationship, I will be unhappy and discontent if it doesn't live up to the standards of the books and movies. Please help me. How do I break these feelings of looking up to the worldly standard of love and focus on the Godly standard of love?
+HAIRy tales I never had a boyfriend until I was 18 and even then it was a wasteful 5 year relationship of running from God. Allow God to do it in his timing and focus on being a teenager. Have fun with friends, Seek God!
One thing that I have found helpful in avoiding feeling so lovesick or sad about not being in a relationship is not surrounding myself with romantics books, movies, and music. For one thing they are impossible standards for real life relationships, also they just make you think about being in a relationship more and more. It is like watching the food channel or window shopping at bakeries when you are on a diet. All you do is make yourself hungrier and tease yourself. Another good thing to remember is that God put together the marriage relationship as a picture of our relationship to Him. Our desires for someone to love, cherish, and protect us are meant to reflect the relationship we are to have with Christ. So my advice would be the next time you feel lonely or sad about being single put down that romance novel, stop teasing yourself with the imaginary and unrealistic romance of the world, and remember who died for you. Read His word and see how much He loves you, and in such a way that no man could ever fulfill! If we pursue God with as much ferver and thought as we do a relationship with fallen man, we will be blessed beyond imagining, for we will have found and be living out our true purpose and greatest relationship in life!

Rochelle if marriage is not your vocation, then you won't need to "deal" with anything related to that.You will be content,u will be at ease with your singleness because God wants u to further the kingdom in your singleness.if you still struggle with those wedding ideas,then maybe marriage is your calling.just keep praying and fasting so that God reveals to you what He wants from you

Isaiah 51:1-16 is a good one. Isaiah talks about some of the mighty things that God has done and how God has brought them through it all. So I thought, if God can do ALL those things surley He will fulfill the desire of your heart to have a husband.
