The "Lens of Perfection" is a "Perfect Expression" We are trained by the media and culture to create fantasies surrounding love. We take this image and imprint it onto another. When we are young we are most vulnerable. The idealization is that Disney image brought into relationships. Men do this as well so that two people come into a relationship trying to force the other person to be the fantasy they hold in their mind that is called love. No wonder there are so many divorces and unhappy marriages.

I’m going through this right now and I was just scrolling through CZcams and found this and I’m starting to think I’m infatuated, a lot of my friends hate this guy but I don’t see anything wrong with him everything he does to me makes me feel special and like he’s perfect but now I’m unsure about it

I'm happy to know you guys have gone through infatuation too! Lol, but it's so true. I also really appreciate Bethany saying how LONG it took for her to be clear of the infatuated state because it took me a while too. But thank God he's open my eyes.
But what's an addition is that we can be even infatuated with a friend, not romantically, but always seeing them in a higher level and overlooking obvious warning signs that this is NOT someone to hang around with anymore. THAT takes longer to get over if you've been around a friend for years.

THANK YOU! This topic could not have been more perfectly timed!!! God is INCREDIBLE! I just asked Him earlier today to give me answers and a reason as to why I was no longer in connection with this guy I had the hearts for last year. I tried to keep in touch and we still go to the same college, but God has other plans and knows what is best for me. I am beyond thankful for that. Also, it's funny because when I first met this guy I remember telling myself "I will never date a guy like him" then a few months later "he could do no wrong".
