- Instead of one big hunk of meat, I decided to smoke several Mini Meatloaves using the Weber Kettle and some Post Oak wood. Once they were finished, I topped some slices with a Homemade BBQ Bacon Jam that went perfectly with this satisfying meal.

#grilling #cooking #meatloaf #bbq - Jak na to + styl
Great idea-allows more smoky flavor into the meat. With that bacon Jam-fabulous!
Right on!
Mmm... you inspired me to make meatloaf this weekend... thank you
WOW!!! You know that old saying “catching a man by his stomach” works both ways. I’m in love 🥰
Juan Jimenez A person can dream (:-)🥰
The meatloaf looks delicious. I love to smoke meatloaf. It is so much better than cooking it in the oven. Keep Smoking!
It's great, isn't it? ")
Smoked meatloaf is so tasty!!!!
Great stuff as always Ry. Top tip - a damp tea towel or J Cloth under the bowl will stop it slipping as you mix.
Yeah I've used that before, but it doesn't always look great on camera. I'm picky, I know :)
@@CookingWithRy Loving the new camera work and captions. Arty and meaty.
love me some smoked meatloaf
I'm making this tomorrow.
Looks great Ry, thanks for a new 'for me' twist on meatloaf.
That looked really good Ry, when I make meatloaf I always form it into burger patties and cook it on the grill just like regular burgers, my family really likes it that way. Keep up the great work
Grilled up meatloaf burgers. I like it!
@@CookingWithRy give it a try, you get a crunchy exterior crust nice juicy inside. My next try will be a meatloaf smash burger. I might do that this week and put it on my channel. Have a great day Ry
I believe the pit boys have a rival my good sir. Really enjoying your videos. Very well presented and put forward. The DIY build vids are a nice dynamic to. Keep on cooking dude.
Thanks so much! But they have me seriously beat in the beard department :)
When we make meatloaf, we always make enough to make to have leftovers for meatloaf sandwiches.. Although we have never smoked a meatloaf, it is now on our list of things to try.
well you have to give it a squeeze from time to time. lol!! i gotta say i will absolutely have to try this!! Also, you have one of the best channels on youtube!! Congrats on 30K and climbing!! Great cook and thanks for all your support as well!! Have a great week brother!!
Thank you much! It's crazy when you get these bumps in activity and growth. Gotta enjoy 'em while they last and keep on truckin' when they ease off :)
Tuned in :)
Those minis turned out really nice. You are so right a small meatloaf is a great idea for serving.
The baconcandy must have been the best condiment for it as well.
Thanks for the inspiration - i feel a meatloaf is coming my waj soon :)
Happy weekend Ry!
Some Roo meatloaf? :)
I'm with you Ryan, I love using oak wood for smoking. I have an endless supply of hardwoods here in Arkansas. My favorite is hickory, white oak and post oak. Yet to try red oak, but have plenty to try. I like the idea of the mini meat loafs. And that bacon jam, oh ya.
Those looked good. Loved the color
I really do love the color that ground meat gets when smoked :)
Sear off those slices on a skillet and toast a bun. Looks like it would make a great sandwich
Personal sized meat loafs is a great idea Ry and man those looked amazing, especially with the bacon jam! I used post oak for the first time not that many months ago and it is awesome, and the smoke smell is really good. Different from any other wood I've used thus far. I hope my local Academy Sports keeps carrying it.
Yeah I'm really liking the post oak, especially with beef :)
THIS SOUNDS SO DARN GOOD!!!
Another nice one Ry. That would be good with bacon wrapped brussel sprouts lol. Great vid.
Mmm yum. You need to do more videos where you use that bacon jam.
I need like a gallon of it. It disappeared FAST after I made it :)
if it wasnt - 40 c here I would break out the masterbuilt and make it...lol looks great !
Yeah that's a little chilly :)
@@CookingWithRy oh it is..lol and i had to work in it on graveyard shift this past week...brrr..
Nice take on meatloaf.
Thanks!
I love me some meatloaf...with that bacon jam! Ohh mann!
Nice twist on an old favorite. We just had meatloaf last night. Is tomorrow too soon to have it again? 😁. Thanks.
Is it ever too soon? :)
I have to be honest meatloaf has never been my favorite. For one thing I hate bell peppers and use to hate onions. All the meatloaf I have ever had they used bell pepper. This recipe is the kind of meatloaf I would love.
Honestly, I've made meatloaf with nothing but a big pile of ground beef before and just sauced it afterwords :)
Awesome stuff!!!! Subscribed!!!
Thank you!

What brand of charcoal brickets do you use?
Regular old Kingsford Blue most of the time
@@CookingWithRy I am currently trying Weber brand, I like them but wish I could find them cheaper than $17 for 20lb
@@reg6616 I usually pay $23 for 40 lbs of the Kingsford at Home Depot. When they put ot on sale for half that I stock up :)
DELICIOUS!!!!!!
I'm making this tonight Ry. Question, I was thinking of making it with the pancetta potatoes and a veggie. I know this is going top sound crazy, but do you think that it's too much bacon?
I'd eat that whole loaf by myself! Nice. :-)
Great video Ry after using kettle zone system if you were going to cook brisket or pork butts how would you set up charcoal to facilitate the longest burn that would work the best with that system, would using this system or some other setup Aka the sns to do long cooks of these types, which choice would you have.I have a vortex on the way as you have made it apparent how useful it is.
My personal opinion is that a brisket in the 15 lb range can be a challenge on the 22" kettle. With something like the Kettle Zone you're going to run into difficulty adding charcoal since you likely are going to be using both deflectors and both grates. It's doable, but a bit of a hassle. I would prefer to use the SnS for a cook that's going to go beyond 7 hours, or the simple briquette baskets. The Vortex might stick out a bit too far under the brisket and create some direct cooking :)
How long does that bacon jam keep. It looks great
Good question. It only lasts a couple days in the refrigerator before it's gone :)
Question(s) about the grill set up: I notice that when adding wood in your videos you do so after putting the food on. Is there a reason? Could you not put the wood on and let it catch while putting the food on to reduce the time the lid is off?
I could do that, but some things get shifted a bit for filming purposes. Your way would work perfectly fine :)
Great another RY recipe I have to try. Where did you get that grill system? The diffuser set?
It's from a company called Aura Outdoor Products. It's called the Kettle Zone System. They sent it to me to try and I've been liking the versatility of it :)
@@CookingWithRy Probably going to grab one of those. 133 bucks with free shipping.
Hi Ry. Do you have a link on where to buy that BBQ sauce?
Right here: www.smokinsouthernbbq.com/ It's really great stuff :)
Hi Ry, How long did it take to smoke these
This batch took about 90 minutes, but that was likely affected by the weather conditions. If you're doing these just let the internal temp guide you :)
Hey there 2 questions 1. Can you cook these without the deflector plate and if so how? lol. 2. What was the total coock time? Thanks very much..
Without the deflectors I would do them indirect with briquettes on one side of the grill. As for cook time, if I didn't mention it in the video I wouldn't know since I was targeting internal temperature as my guide :)
@@CookingWithRy Thank You.. :)
Hey Ry, do you recall what your total cook time was on these? Awesome video!!!
Not off the top of my head, no. I was going for internal temperature so I let that be my determining factor and rarely think about time, especially in those weather conditions :)
For sure! I was just curious because my wife had planned meatloaf tonight for dinner, and I wanted to get a ball park to see what time I would need to start it so we aren't eating at like 11pm
I don't think it was longer than 90 minutes for that size, give or take 15 minutes :)
EXCELLENT!
What was the cook time on this?
Not sure. I was going strictly to temp on this one so I generally don't worry about time in that situation :)
All these people with the"Best BBQ" on you tube need to get a real Job
You don't like mini meatloaves?
