Information is key. We had to send money from UK to our naira account to run POF for the whole family. I even added POF for I and my spouse who is already in the UK with me.

Hi, when applying for my kids on a dependent visa, can I put that they are applying from inside UK if they are coming for the holidays? I am wondering if I can do it like this so they get to do their biometrics when they come for holiday

We did the standard application which was supposed to take 15 working days but it took 5 working days.

Just who the children are to me. I presented my BRP so they confirmed I already live in the Uk. They just confirmed the identity of the children. That’s all.
Who should be used as the parent details and the parent or guardian given the consent for this application?

I don’t think so. If the person applying is under 18, they need to go with a guardian older than 18. You only need consent latter of both parents when you’re uploading documents for visa application.

Thanks for sharing. Please if the main applicant already spent 1 year out of their 2years visa for instance, when applying for their dependants is it the remaining one year they need to apply for or the same 2 years Visa as the main applicant?
Or let me put it this way, should the dependants pay for 1 year Visa since the 2 years course is remaining just 1 year as at the time of the applications for the dependants? Or it is 2 years Visa for everybody since it is a 2 years course. Thanks
Ur children or dependents would get same date as you got on ur own BRP mail or BRP.
You dnt need to state any number of years for UKVI.
Unless u r applying for a visitors visa for them..
The time will be calculated. Once you enter the course start and end date of the main applicant, the number of months or years of the dependant will be calculated from the date you’re applying. You’ll just follow the process when applying. Same with IHS fee, it’ll be calculated on the website.

I think a straight flight would be best. One may consider not taking the kids through the stress of stopovers and delays.
If you have more than one especially toddlers pls use a straight flight. Just book early.

I travelled to Nigeria with Qatar airways because it was cheaper but longer because of layover. Came back with the children on Virgin Atlantic, it was more expensive but shorter (no layover). What I considered when coming back was the time and convenience for the children.
You can search online for cheap flights and compare.

good evening my people. Regarding this POF cos i have a serious issue on ground. Are you trying to say that we should calculate the months left on our studies or including the additional months after studies. For instance for a person like me that started September last year, if im to run POF for my kids, is it going to be the months left from now 'march' till September which is the official course end date, or from now 'march till January' which is the visa end date.

Yes, your child can apply alone. He just needs a guardian to accompany him for capturing. We already listed what we attached for application.

Having spent 8 months before bringing your children, how much did you pay for IHS per child?
We intentionally didn’t share that. Your IHS of any dependant will be calculated on the UK gov website.

Your wife's course is it for 1 year, 18 months, or 2 years

Yes, separate application.

If not, how did you go about it at the embassy because I’m coming ahead my family.
The CAS is just for you since you’re the only one studying, it doesn’t concern family. The spouse and children are applying as your dependants to UKVI not the school so they don’t need to be included in the CAS. The CAS is just for you.

POF can be tricky. If you’ve been in the Uk for 6-9 months, I will advice you run POF for just your dependant. If you’ve been in the Uk for less, I advice you calculate POF for your dependant and yours that’s left. I feel it’s safer that way (to avoid the issue of recycling of funds). It’s just my opinion. Please do your research.
