    Liverpool will not be so lackadaisical this time. This means more.

      it wasn't really that they were lackadaisical as much as it was they were simply way more fatigued than united. They'd played about 6 games more in an already cramped schedule with a threadbare squad due to injuries. It's why they lost it in extra time, they were done after 90 minutes

      Meh... Liverpool aren't as solid as City or Arsenal. They're gonna score, but they're also gonna give the other team a chance and United got the front 3 to cash in if they decide to show up.

    Of course they can. Especially after the FA cup classic. Liverpool wanted to avoid a penalty shootout in that one and got caught on the break in ET. So doubt they will repeat the same mistake but who knows?
    Look for a big reaction at OT for Sunday’s game. Liverpool need to be more clinical with their chances to win. Won’t be an easy one.

    Can they score 5 goals against Liverpool? No? Then they cant upset them. Their defense is a sieve and Liverpool will hit them for at least 5 if Utd try play football.
    Or, if they dig in and park the bus then Liverpool may only score 2 or so but Utd wont score at all in that case.

    Everton hater here. Can we please just relegate them already? No team has offered the EPL less, in its entire history, and never been relegated. They are, by a country mile, the club most deserving to be relegated in the EPL. City have gone down. Villa have gone down. Newcastle have gone down. Yet all of those clubs have had top sides, played great football and been relevant. Then we have Everton who just hang around, do nothing, and stink up the place. Whats their best finish? 4th? And they still bottled the UCL playoff. Their best ever manager is David Moyes. Do I need to say more?

    How many times can a team be so lucky to win competitive games with this chaos?? This is definitely a deliberate plan from Erik ten Hag, the execution is not good yet, which shows that this is still in it's teething phase and this requires patience. Stop picking on United just because you don't understand what we're trying to build here.
    The other week when we beat Liverpool, people said we were lucky to win it, that Liverpool let us off the hook. We just lost against Chelsea in similar fashion but you won't here people saying Chelsea are lucky, that we let them off the hook, double standards much?? I mean since we giving credit to teams for losing

    @Jaf2k7 Před měsícem

    It is not a matter of Ten Hag being sacked and replaced by Potter or Southgate. The crux of the issue lies with the players' inability to adapt to a different style of play. Ange Postecoglou, when he joined Spurs, faced similar skepticism from the players, but they eventually embraced the new approach and began to believe in it. In contrast, at Manchester United, the players have never been given the chance to adopt any style of play other than low-block counter-attacking football. This was evident when Rangnick was appointed, and the players struggled to maintain the new approach for more than 30 minutes. Ole also tried to play expansive football, but the players were unable to adapt, and the team struggled as a result.
    Ten Hag's situation is similar. In his first season, the players were unable to play expansive football, and the team suffered as a result. Ten Hag then adjusted his approach to mid-to-low block football and counter-attacking football, which the players were more comfortable with. This season, there has been a lot of criticism of Ten Hag's gameplay, and the players he thought were not good enough last season are now being played. However, the reasons for the team's struggles are not solely due to the manager's incompetence. The board's incompetence is also a significant factor. They failed to sell Maguire and McTominay, who should have been replaced, and did not bring in a CB, midfielder, and another striker, which the team desperately needed.
    Furthermore, there are dressing room issues that need to be addressed. The team is not a cohesive unit, and there are different cliques within the squad. This is not a healthy environment for a team to succeed. Ten Hag has tried to address these issues by having meetings with the players, but this has not been successful. The players are not in harmony, and there is a lack of trust among them. This is evident in the way they have performed on the pitch.
    Ten Hag has also faced criticism for not playing the same attacking football that he did at Ajax. However, what people forget is that Ten Hag cannot play that style of football with the current crop of players. They are not capable of executing that style, and if he were to try, the players would simply down tools. Ten Hag has also been forced to play players like McTominay, who may not be the best player, but he has tried to keep unity within the squad.
    The preseason was also poorly managed, with the team facing a ridiculous schedule that was more focused on marketing purposes than preparing the players for the upcoming season. This has caused issues within the team, and the board needs to take responsibility for their mistakes.
    In conclusion, the issues at Manchester United are not solely due to the manager's incompetence. The players and the board also share responsibility for the team's struggles. Ten Hag has tried to adapt to the situation, but he has been hampered by the players' inability to change their ways and the board's poor decision-making. He deserves more time to address these issues and bring in the players that he needs to succeed.
    It's worth noting that Klopp had a similar issue when he first joined Liverpool, where the players were not able to play intensively. However, Klopp was able to adapt and change the team's style of play, which ultimately led to success. Liverpool then engrossed itself to that ideal and made sure to remove players that were not able to deliver to that ideal and bought players that fit to that mould, which is now reaping the reward. Manchester United needs to take a similar approach and backing their manager to make the necessary changes to the team.
