    I just have my hand tools on shelves and racks on the wall, but the idea of having them all in one place, in a great looking cabinet, really appeals to me.

      Thanks Ricardo I'm glad you like it. You can definitely make one yourself!
      I have a Cosman dovetail saw and a Veritas cross-cut saw. To be honest I really do prefer the Cosman saw -- the grip fits my hand better, and it is much heavier which makes it feel more sturdy. I might purchase a Cosman crosscut saw to replace my Veritas one day.

    This is absolutely unreal - I was hoping you'd make a video showing this! I have a quick question - what make tenon and dovetail saws do you have? I only have very crappy ones (£3 ones from B&Q) and I'd like to invest in either new good quality ones or restore some preloved saws. What would you recommend?

    • @dkbuilds
      @dkbuilds  Před 3 lety

      Thanks so much for watching and commenting calzaghe! I don't technically have a tenon saw, but my crosscut saw is Veritas and my dovetail saw is Rob Cosman. Veritas saws are excellent, though somewhat expensive. Rob Cosman saws are the best saws you can buy (in my opinion) and are therefore really, really expensive (in my opinion). I absolutely adore mine but it was a real stretch to afford. If I had lots of money to throw around, I would buy only Rob Cosman saws. I am very happy with my Veritas saw too. It's up to you whether you go new or restored!

    • @dkbuilds
      @dkbuilds  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question! In this case the teeth are totally covered within the sheath (with some extra room below them), and the saw is fully supported on its heavy metal back spine. Therefore the teeth do not scrape at all inside of the sheath and are fully protected. Thanks for the comment, let me know if I didn't answer your question fully!

      Carpentry is my hobby, not my profession. I enjoy building clever, useful projects I see here. Yours are neither.
      But check out: Warriors of the Plains: Native American Regalia & Crafts, one of my books.

      @@joewrosenthal00 my woodworking videos are ‘neither’ because I don’t have any woodworking videos. I’m not a content creator. I’m only just getting back into woodworking after a long break due to a career in science. The few videos I do have are of my reef aquariums and various other related things.
      I’ll take a hard pass on the book rec, thanks though.
      I only commented because your original comment was neither helpful or positive. This channel has some amazing content and the production values are insanely good- couldn’t let your negative comment lie.
