Eating the Crayola crayons doesn't mean you work with them.
My grandma's dogs must've thought themselves Picasso with how many they ate
@@pinkpupbutt9299either picasso or marines...
No but you would rainbow shits😂
😂
I'm pretty sure he's not a Marine, so I don't think he's been eating those crayons...
Lauren got sketchy attorneys because non-sketchy ones would never take her case.
:)
Momma Tot is also Jeanettes client. I think she might talk a big talk and if the clients don’t know better they might think she is telling them the truth.
I think it says A LOT about everyone who is a client of Janet because the whole country knows what a sh&t bag she is now so, if they're still her client then it's ONLY because they support and endorse her behaviors.
I'm living for the Janet drama. Seems fit that a horrible lawyer would hire a horrible lawyer to defend her.
Are they as god awful as Amber Heard's "lawyer"? Or not quite that horrible?
@@brendanboomhour7606 Well I haven't seen them in action so I'm not sure. But based off all the documents we have, they're well on their way lol
@@brendanboomhour7606they probably know each other. Similar people gravitate together
@@dopesickdog wouldn't surprise me, Heard's lawyer is potentially opening her up to another defamation suit, definitely deserves the label of incompetent
@@brendanboomhour7606Lord, that trial was full of stinkers. The one he had before that edited and leaked evidence and the one that brazenly almost opened the door to evidence she had fought to disallow. I honestly don't know how she got away with that one, maybe Virginia has different laws or the judge took pity on her.
I mean, I don't want to stereotype lawyers but it feels like the libel slander ones are kind of the worst that I have personally seen.
So the lawyer messed up and got a lawyer, who probably also needs a lawyer too.
Perfectly put 😂
@@angelicMisha I wrote this while having 42 hrs no sleep and at work, I am surprised it was even slightly legible. I forgot I even commented
It's an infinite regress of soon to be disbarred lawyers 😊
@@CryptoPuppt Hope work gets easier for you, and hope you got a decent sleep!
As an Illinois paralegal, I cannot tell you how bizarre it is to see my favorite British drama channel going over the IRPC (IL Rules of Professional Conduct). 😂 You and Runkle are right; my jaw dropped when as soon as you said “specializes.” He absolutely should know better. *I* know better and I’ve never been to law school, because the IRPC indirectly applies to paralegals too, and you memorize that sh*t just by sheer exposure.
Also: in law, words mean things. In law, the definition of a word can completely change a law or a verdict. People lose cases based on comma placement. You have to be extremely careful, and if this guy passed the bar he has absolutely no excuse for that.
Could you use a different word from “specialise” to indicate a particular area of expertise? I am genuinely confused. I know that many NYC lawyers specialise. My friend’s business card actually said “Music Law.” He was a very respected lawyer in a very niche field. I even asked him, “Are all your clients famous?” He answered, “ No,” with a good laugh. I miss him. He died,a few years ago but had a long joyful life. Thanks for answering my question. I did my MA in Chicago. I specialised in moral law. I’m a chaplain.
PS Like your handle. There is a hat museum in England.
My husband is an IL lawyer who deals with IP law and is absolutely baffled by this whole thing. But he is also super glad he didn’t take the full ride that John Marshall Law school offered him!
@@usainengland Some states (i.e. Florida) allow a lawyer to list specialties (and those who do are held to a higher standard of care in their specialty areas than lawyers who do not designate it as a specialty) but most states do not allow lawyers to "specialize" or list "specialties" on their resumes/websites, etc.. Lawyers can state that they handle matters in specific areas of law, but cannot say that they are "experts" or "specialists" - I know it seems like a distinction without a difference and is just parsing words, but parsing is exactly what lawyers are trained to do on a daily basis.
@@usainengland I know it differs from state to state - some places allow you to list a specialty. But IL doesn’t have any recognized programs for it - that’s why you’re allowed to talk about certifications or experience but you can’t call yourself a specialist or an expert.
Thing is, any decent attorney wouldn't take Lauren's case. They'd tell her there's no grounds to pursue the matter. So she has to go with someone like Janette or Ben because they're the only lawyers crooked enough to take her.
:( Lauren's karma is her lawyers? ouch
I'm not even sure they're crooked, as much as they are stupid. Had her lawyer only done the false copyright claims, I'd be inclined to agree with you.
But putting their licenses on the line in a state with anti-slap laws just signals to me they are very deluded and stupid. As a college student with a single semester of media law I wouldn't touch this case with a ten foot pole.
I think what really needs to be investigated is the law school that's giving these clowns licenses.
The fact that all this started because Lauren the Mortician desperately wanted people to NOT talk about her 😂 good job girl, good job 👏
They'll make a movie about Lauren and call it TERF Wars 😆
Babe i can't talk rn, markie just posted more Janet drama
I've never been this soon
You better call her Janette or you're gonna get sued.
I got my husband so hooked he scans Markie, Runkle and Madcatster for "more Janet drama" like a drug fiend. 😂😂
I think I broke my boyfriend’s brain when I tried explaining this entire saga to him 😂😂😂
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Mac Miller’s name gets thrown around ALL THE TIME? People love to use his name for their shady deeds. Let him rest.
Because you can't be sued for defamation if they are dead, which is sick
@@venesa5802Their family can't sue?? That's messed up 🫤
Truly!!! Leave him alone 🥲😭
and he cant even defend himself
@@venesa5802 I think his family can sue for defamation if they have proof that what's being said is false. I'm not a lawyer tho lol
Wrongfully using a dead person’s name to try to make yourself look good is so beyond scummy.
Lauren the M. misrepresents herself too! These people are perfect company for her. She pretends to be an expert but if you actually break down her “education” and experience, it’s like this attorney- a dash of truth and a whole lot of BS…..
Ecactly!
My last accounting firm did the accounting for the Canadian touring of Da Baby. Doesn't mean I worked for him. People are ridiculous 😂
You mean, you were Da Baby's financial advisor? People are definitely putting their money where their mouth is, but will figure that out when the money goes away.
da baby is such a fucking funny name. i know thats mostly irrelevant but it makes me laugh every time i hear about him.
So when do we hear that Lockyear has to hire a lawyer to defend himself from the consequences of his own stupidity? It could be a fun game. “It’s lawyers all the way down!”
Doesn't the supreme Court decision also mean that Janet Braun is also breaking the law since she practices in Illinois and claims to specialize in copyright law
It doesn't say that on her website though, it says that she is an IP lawyer and then lists the services that she offers.
Saw this when it first came out on Runkle's channel, but it didn't occur to me now that the combination of naming his "clients" and saying he specializes in things like financial fraud, tax evasion and organized crime, would probably lead people to believe that the named clients had to defend themself against these same crimes, since that is his speciality.
Otherwise we are left with him representing all of these clients, and separately gaining his "extensive" experience in white collar crime, all within in the span of 2.5 years- and that is disregarding the fact the attorney general's office prosecutes, they don't defend.
Right!! That's a problem....
I'm a U.S. attorney licensed in multiple states. All law schools are ranked by U.S. News. Janet's law school is ranked so low it isnt even given a specific number, just listed as "147th-193rd," aka the lowest tier.
(These rankings shouldn't be viewed as gospel because there are obviously flaws in any "ranking" system. However, the rankings are generally good at depicting where you'll get a good education worth the price tag.)
jeez, i'm over here worrying about getting into a T30 meanwhile this woman has so much nerve and cockiness and her school is barely even ranked LMAO insane
@@gerrrb RIGHT!?
That explains why Wikipedia just says that it is a bottom 25% school. Thank you for that info.
Not y'all pulling up this mans resume. This just keeps getting better that's so wild.
Ben was probably an intern who just made sure that the actual lawyers got their coffees
I would rather be represented by Charlie Kelly, Attorney at Bird Law than Janet or Ben
I’d rather represent myself. I’m not a lawyer but i think i could do a better job 😂
I'm still betting that Ben is just lending his signature to what Janet is writing. Talk about an ethical boo-boo.
This was my first thought too!
Hmmmm, who would've thought an unethical lawyer would seek out another unethical lawyer to represent them 🤔 Runkle of the Bailey is a goat for finding this!
I feel like the whole thing about name-checking 'clients' is a leaf taken out of the influencer book ... I redesigned a logo for Coca Cola in a graphic design course portfolio, does that mean I have worked for them (NO!!!).
I'm reminded of the time I met some hustler who was trying to get people on side for a project of his - because he'd had conversations with a bunch of Australian orgs who had an employee who said said 'hmm, this sounds interesting' at a party he namechecked all of them as 'in-principle support'.
Influencer playbook surely doesn't apply to something as highly regulated and rule-bound as the law, but I guess that's why they're trying to be 'innovative' in an influencer market
The rappers are dead so nobody can prove he didn’t work with them so I’m calling bull crap.
The most surprising things about this lawsuit for me is that it still hasn't turned out that Lauren and Jeanette are related, and that Jeanette didn't write all that lawsuit paperwork herself.
You're right; we would all be so surprised, and not surprised at all.
Well technically we don't know if Janet wrote it or not. We just know that she wasn't the one that filed it.
lol @@limner123
Nonono, ben's gonna sue people for defamation and janet - sorry, attorney braun - is going to represent him. We will have come full circle then 😅
You know you messed up as a lawyer when you have to hire a lawyer.
Not really. As the old saying goes, "The man who represents himself has a fool for a client."
Imagine Ben starting to sue Commentary Channels and getting represented by Janette.
I have written marketing copy for legal firms before. The instructions included, in bold, that I could not use the word specialize or anything like unto it. That was the biggest no-no. Holy cow.
Streisand effect is in full swing! Great job, Lauren the Fauxtician
I LOVE this name, nobody can say it isn’t the truth! 😂😂😂
If I was looking to hire an attorney, I certainly wouldn't want one who so openly breaks attorney-client privilege, while also claiming to be discreet. And the specific mention of organized crime representation comes across as almost threatening, to me anyway.
cease and desists written in crayons is not a collab
this is not surprising as we have all been wondering what kind of lawyer would actually take on this case. Seems to me like he was Janet's only option lol
Can confirm what the state doesn't let lawyers do, as I am a manger in a law office in Illinois.
If Lauren had stayed quiet and layed low a couple weeks we would’ve all forgotten about her behavior.
At some point the title just has to be, "HOW IS IT STILL WORSE"
Did he name dead rappers because he assumed no one would care to fact check???!!!! That’s incredibly vile.
I got distracted for just a moment and then I suddenly heard Mac Miller and was so confused 😂
Ian @Runkle of the Baily is an amazing and incredibly smart lawyer, plus he's Canadian and lives near me. 😉.
Thanks for the update Markie
Also relatively near to me, it's kind of wild seeing a Canadian CZcams get there name brought up so much in the online space especially one relatively local to me
I know the wording sounds like a silly issue but in some industries its really important. For example I can't call myself an architect until I pass all the exams. I can use creative ways around it, but I can't advertise myself as an architect because that title comes with certain expectations/responsibilities I can't do yet (I can't remember the punishment, but I think it would take me longer to get licensed). I'm not sure if the lawyer profession is as strict but it might be since it's in writing.
This situation confuses me to no end. Lauren ended her own career and is suing other people for it? Ma’am get a better hobby.
I watched runkles video and I love the sass he had during this one haha
Every time I think this is done, we get more. The gift that keeps giving
The doors to the clown car keep opening tbh: 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
How did these people pass the bar?
Also super interesting that Nipsey & Mac Miller have both passed away… oh, I finish typing that & you go into that specifically. OMG & what you say about it!!🤮 unless he dealt w/ their estate or will that’s sick & he shouldn’t say who cuz it’s attorney/client privilege.
Thank you for saying "for the worse" instead of "for the worst"
As an illinois resident, this is mildly terrifying for if i ever need a lawyer. Apparently illinois attorneys need to be more closely monitored. I know theres plenty of amazing attorneys in this state but the fact that jeanette hasnt been disbarred yet is pretty concerning.
As many other comments have stated, ben was janet and lauren's only option because every other lawyer had the bare minimum of integrity and professionalism to tell them "this case is dumb, and a waste of time."
Ben and Janet went to law school together. I wonder if they even bothered to search for a different lawyer than Ben
Just got home from work to be greeted by a new upload, salud MARKIE!
Ben Lockyer is a ghost lawyer. 👻
Those Rules are some of the most important you’ll learn when becoming a lawyer. There’s an entire professional responsibility exam you have to pass before admission. This entire situation has been a HUGE ethical breach and it just baffles me that some lawyers are so reckless with their license. I’m in too much student debt to ever risk losing my license over a tiktoker😭😭😭
Also, Markie, it would be important to see how courts with binding authority have ruled on the term “extensive”.
It's the year of crappy lawyer karma.
I feel bad for anyone who went to their alma mater to get their education. With not just 1 but 2 sketchy alumni, it has to be an embarrassment.
As far as all the big names, he probably had to interview someone who worked for those companies for a case he was working on. So, of course, to make himself sound legitimate he included their employers as clients LOL!! I do find it hilarious, that he did not include successfully in his representation LMAO!!
I might believe this guy has represented a Canada goose.
Probably annoyed that someone wanted it quit pooping on their lawn.
at this point the phrase "rogue attorney" is music to my ears
You know randomly finding out on CZcams that my former “situationship” (for lack of a better term) was the one who took on this case was not on my 2024 bingo card but here we are 😭
As someone that used to know him pretty well, I think the theory Janet wrote the complaint and he filed it is most likely what happened. It happens a lot when attorneys get sued because we aren’t dumb enough to do anything pro se. But I don’t think Janet understands that not being pro se also means not writing the complaint yourself
For the two rappers everyone is focusing on, he was involved in the representation of the estate. I’m not defending him by mentioning it, you can find the cases on Justia. A lot of people are getting that fact wrong.
(Also the law school isn’t to blame for this, it’s 100% an individual issue)
Well I can relate because I randomly came upon this and I knew Janet briefly, so I have been sucked into this story getting my popcorn.
I love this drama because its about assholes digging themselves deeper and deeper and Its just so refreshing and fun
To give you an idea of how crooked Illinois is, when I travel thru there the truck stops all have shirts that say "welcome to Illinois where our politicians make our license plates" there are like 4 mug shots for political people. It's pretty funny.
Is he going to try to sue for defamation because his feelings are hurt? Most likely. That’s usually how it goes.
Why is everyone associated with Janet sketchy as hell? Lmaoooo 😂
They're So ignorant!
If your atty sounds like he could be hires by Trump , it might be a sign not to hire them
No ethical or competent lawyer would take this case. His CV isn't just 'padded' but delightfully consistently dishonest! 😂
i think it's pretty messed up to claim you've represented a dead person if you haven't. they aren't here to confirm or deny - though their estates can - and i think it's unfair. it's like invoking a dead person's name to defend your actions. gross.
rogue attorney sounds like an action tv show!
Hey question for the Commonwealth barristers out there.... How does jurisdiction work? Can a Canadian lawyer practice in England? Can a case move up from, say, local Australian court to the....i dont know what the High Court is called in England..... actually, it's probably High Court....can it move "up" in the legal system? Is the Commonwealth like the Federal and state system, where Federal supercedes state in sime cases?
Not straight off the bat. Moving from Aus to the UK as a nurse required me to register and prove my practice to be able to work in the UK. Due to the different laws ect ect you would have to study and prove you do understand the rules/laws in the country you are moving to. Even accountants can’t just move to another commonwealth country and just start practising so for lawyers, I would assume it would be a few years extra education to switch.
@@chickenlittle5095 And for nursing between the UK and Australia it is easier that for a lot of countries as I know that Australia recognises UK education as equivalent. There are lots of countries that have to redo their education or for Drs at least redo their residency.
To answer your question about cases passing through local levels of Court to the UK? Nope. Once the British Empire became the Commonwealth each member ‘state’ gained its own independence and rule of law. Basically, the current Monarch - now King Charles - is the figurehead over the democratically elected governments of each members government. So for the vast majority of the commonwealth the UKs laws have no impact whatsoever. There *may* however be some members who defer, but they’re in the minority. For the most part the only cases the UK Court would hear would be related to UK law.
Having said all that, I’m not a lawyer, just worked with the Crown Prosecution Service for a number of years and had a very good Modern History teacher who was passionate about the Commonwealth…. so there might be obscure times when it could happen, but they’d be very, very rare I think 🤷🏻♀️
I'm Australian, going back yes it was that it was UK law and that even continued after Australia had its own constitution. These days we have the Governor General (each state has one and we have a federal one) and they are our figurehead (but not really cause they are assigned and keep changing, not really sure how they get the role) and they are now the person who does the final sign off of things that in the old days would have needed the Queen/King to sign off on.
I am not sure if technically you can still appeal to the UK or not, it doesn't happen though and pretty sure if you did you would have had to exhausted all legal avenues here first.
i feel like when ben says he "represented" companies like walmart, he probably just defended an individual store in one matter. but it doesn't sound cool to say "Walmart Store No. 5826" so he's trying to make it seem more impressive lmfao
Ben: I'm a specialist!
State of Illinois: yea you made that up.
How do we send this brilliant little guy a bottle of good spirits? I need a PO box or a link to something to stand him a drink.
Specialist and specialized are different. You can't use the word "specialist" unless your state recognizes specialties.
But to describre a past job and say "...where I specialized in BlabbityBlah law" is not quite promising a higher degree of skill than other attorneys.
Markie always with a good one
I love your videos, love your consistency, and commend you for your honesty. You're a genuinely good creator crediting others for the information they've shared that you use in your content. Always appreciate how humble you are when you don't know much about certain topics.

I wonder if he means their estate. He didn't work with them, but with their estate hence why it's after death. Maybe??
I wanted this to be my new Johnny Depp trial...sad.
How long before their Law School issues a Cease and Desist to these two jokers, to limit the reputational damage to their Alma Mater?
Sketchy people use sketchy attorneys.
Wooohooooo new Markie vid 🎉
Where does Lauren find these attorneys???
Well, Janet and Ben went to law school together
He makes fun of Americans for calling it a vacation, and then he says “ gob smacked” 😂
Yes, because all the listed businesses are “grass roots” which is the most hilariously insane thing in that section
Can I just remind everyone this started over a car seat. That a car seat expert debunked. Can you imagine what he thinks of all this??
Damn never been this early ever. Ty for the video!! ❤️
They really could drop the word count in that document by just using non gendered terms 😂
Sketchy people gravitate towards one another
I love the way you deliver drama
If your an assistant attorney General, um they don't defend anyone? They are the prosecutors so how would he even have experience defending anyone as an assistant attorney General, he'd be prosecuting not defending. So his "extensive experience" paragraph is really all kinds of misleading 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
I appreciate all the coverage of this idiocy Markie. But honestly Im worried they’re gonna come after you too soon for some thing. They are all just unhinged enough to try.
I think the only reason they don't go after Markie or Runkle is that they are not in the US, so Janet the Federal Attorney can't get them into Illinois court. 😂
I think he's pretty safe being in the UK, but he's also only telling us what Ian and Madcatster already said. It's a pretty good defence that he trusted the info of lawyers.
He might have represented Mac Miller’s estate.
Ben could hire Janet to represent him. 😂

I hate to admit I'm older than I care to admit but Nipsey Russell died in the early 2000s and I can assure you that this guy did not represent him he's too young. I bet that maybe his father or somebody that he knows or knew someone in the Nipsey Russell camp
You mean Nipsey Hustle?
Nipsey Russel and Nipsey Hussle are different people. The singer actor and poet died in 2005 from stomach cancer. The rapper and activist died in 2019 from being shot.
