Genuine question - how is she still in business? Where I am, managers who behave like this normally end up destroying the business they are working for and end up out of a job as a result. Is she managing to get by on tourist trade (ie people who don't know what she's like) or are locals choosing to go there, knowing they're going to get awful service? Or does she move from restaurant to restaurant (gets sacked, gets employed elsewhere, gets sacked again, etc) &, if so, why are people employing her?
Apologies for all the questions but I'm genuinely confused. Please make it make sense! 😎👍

Well no you cannot just put customers credit # and name on social media, it’s not data compliant, NACHA compliant or Credit Vendor compliant. Specifically adding the last 4 of his credit card breaks a number of privacy regulations and can have the restaurants merchant account pulled because that information is considered private AND confidential to the person or business.
Online payment are *heavily* regulated and while she may not have broken any laws there _are several_ regulations and compliance issues that deal with customer data which can be civilly actionable by the customer, Vendor, online processor as this can impact *their* company as well.
If enough people complained that her actions resulted in fear of using their credit cards due to callous business owners actions of doxing she would be irrevocably banned from *ever* being able to process credit card payments, basically her business would be _permanently_ blacklisted. As it is though she is smart enough to list her business as “permanently closed” to stop all the bad Google reviews, deleted @TableBoston on Twitter and privated her personal account.

And this was the type of place where ppl waited months for a reservation. I’m gobsmacked. I can’t believe it’s the restaurant owner who thinks the customers are entitled. Wtf??? I've worked in restaurants that didn't take reservation deposits, and sometimes only 1/4 of our reservations would actually show up. Apparently, people can be flaky assholes and will make reservations at a few different restaurants and then decide that night what they feel like eating, without a courtesy call to the other restaurants. They don't realize or care how much it screws over the employees depending on those tables. Some booking apps, like opentable, prevent against this by not allowing a user to make more than 1 reservation each night.

I have never seen a restaurant cancellation fee over $100 in my life. In fact, the first time I had put down money for a restaurant, I DID mess up the reservation date, and they refunded me the money (I accidentally booked for the following month, and I was on holiday out of town). Any reputable place would refund you with a good reason or early cancellation, because they want you as a customer, be it eventually or long term. The $100 fee isn’t there to punish you, it’s there to incentivize you to take your booking seriously, because people rarely value what they get for free. I say this as foodie, restaurant worker, and hopeful future owner of my own establishment: this lady has no business working in this industry.

Also, by suggesting PUBLICLY in writing that he is committing "insurance fraud," she, of course, is committing defamation by libel...... which is actually litigable.

Disney loves their money. And even they aren't this bad 1 if you called and were like oh I'm hospitalized they wouldn't change you because you can't control it and 2 their cancelation fee is like 25$ per person (for the higher end places, I think the low tier ones are free) as opposed to the cost of the ENTIRE meal like this place and 3 its only a 24 hour notice as opposed to a 72 hour policy.
