If it's Nolan, it would be shot in reverse.
Yes😂
Oh, no, no. It's a mite more complicated.
1 is 5; her seated and reading.
2 is a flashback to 1; int of empty room, then the door opens.
3 is 4; she's sitting down to read.
4 is 2; she enters through the doorway she's just opened.
5 is 3; she crosses the room.
Most if not all Nolan films progress this way; converging from ending and beginning to converge on the middle.
It's true even in Memento, the most backward film.
Starts with Teddy getting shot at the end.
Then shows Lenny alone with a phone in a hotel room.
Then 1 scene before Teddy gets shot.
Then picks up with Lenny on the phone.
Then 2 scenes before Teddy gets shot...
And so forth.
The parts with Lenny on the phone are forward-sequential. He talks. We (the audience) come back later. He continues talking. We come back later.
He discovers his tattooed rule for himself about no phone use and whomever he's talking to hangs up. Later someone badgers him to pick up again. He does. He talks.
At last, he agrees to a rendezvous and hangs up. He goes out and ends up killing Natalie's boyfriend. He resolves to shoot Teddy at the end too.
Hence the film ends in the middle of the sequence of events.
@@alm2187 couldn't have been said better
That's a relief since I feared I'd gotten long-winded. Thanks, @@zarghamahmad5571. 😎
Yes
If it were by Michael Bay, the chances are that the book will explode, that Linkin Park will play and maybe that you will be reading with lingerie in the most awkwardly sexy pose to read.
Those explosions are vital for the plot😂
You forgot the orbital shot.
@@EGRJ The lens flares were also missing, and the character wasn't dirty.
Please make part 3 of this!
I recommend these directors:
- David Fincher
- Martin Scorsese
- Joel and Ethan Coen
- Steven Spielberg
- Denis Villeneuve
This one would be fire.
But how they do it?
Quentin Tarantino part should focus on feet 😂
thats what i was thinking
This guy got a point it would be awesome after the cut when she enters through the door you cut to her feet moving towards her book.
Absolutely
haha😐
It was more Sergio Leaone than Tarantino
I loved Nicolas Wing Refn's cut, literally that guy dreams of neon lights
Idk why but Tarantino's credit logo always puts a smile on my face
One of the most overrated directors, if not the most.
Underrated director of this time.
@@mokka_commentry Thanks fanboy, you're a good example of my point.
@@enekaitzteixeira7010 well it's always good to care for my bro.
@@mokka_commentry Care to have critical thinking. You need it.
Michael Bay: Hardcore action, multiple stylish explosion
Alejandro González Iñárritu: Long, unbroken takes
Alfred Hitchcock: Suspense
Nicolas Winding Refn: Colorful shots, neon lights
Quentin Tarantino: Violence, cool dialogue, shot of feet, crash zooms
This is a creative and fun concept. You're too good
James Cameron: Heavy VFX and CGI
Nolan: Reverse and Non linear timeline.
Zack Snyder: Slow motion and high contrast dramatic shots.
Akira kurosawa: Ninja, Smaurai, and Swords.
Spielberg: Sci-fi animals.
This is so good. If you keep making more of these, I'm sure your channel will blow up
Perfect
I love how you making films
Waiting for part 3
Loved your 5 ways of... and 5 different director... videos. just watched all of them. They are interesting, fun to watch and, best of all, instructional. For an amateur as I am, making the same shots with different directors, emotions, genres really helps me understand a little bit more of how cinema is made. Thank you very much! Hope you'll do more of those!
This is completely inaccurate. Quentin Tarantino never passes an opportunity to show feet in his film XD
Hitchcock shot was really good
If it's Denis Villeneuve, then her eyes pov and room, the scene would be shown as much gigantic as possible.
We need part 3 😭
On Tarantino we should've started with her already reading the book and, then, showed how she got there
This is why storyboards are (imo) more important than just a shot list. Most of those scenes would have similar lists but a storyboard would clearly communicate exactly what a director is chasing.
George Lucas: The entire set is bluescreen, and the book will be added later in post.
David Fincher (late '90s, early 2000s): virtual camera flying through small holes
Tim Burton: Character is a goth, with swirly designs on the wall, and a music score that goes, "Ooooooooooooo!!!"
Stanley Kubrick: Random intercuts of a disturbed face.
Spike Lee: Character enters the room riding the dolly.
James Cameron: Room is lit in dark blues. Character is introduced by a close-up of a foot stomping on something.
Steven Spielberg: Enter dark room with ridiculously bright flashlight. Character stares in awe at something offscreen, presumably the book.
Brian De Palma: Split screen of character entering the room and of the book.
John Woo: Birds fly in as the character enters the room in slow-motion.
Martin Scorsese: Character enters room, camera whip pans to the book.
Sam Raimi: Character enters room, looks at book, cut to book, slight zoom, cut back to character, slight zoom.
Notice the style of music helped a lot too
This was amazing please make more
One shot style is so underrated
The author definitely doesn't understand most of the directors' styles
Even so, I think this is a really cool idea and something to be admired rather than criticized especially because they didn’t rely on each director’s cliche shots, but rather attempted to capture the mood each director creates with their style which is likely the genesis of their style rather than specific shots or other superficial things about their style. But, that’s like just my opinion man lol

@@DiegoMantilla I literally couldn't care to elaborate. I think it isn't worthwhile.
@@antoinepetrovthen why comment on something that isn’t worth it to you? The math ain’t mathing brother
Very well made
I love these. Please do more.
That's artistic brilliance
You know that in the Refn one, The Girl would stare at the book for at least 10 seconds before actually picking it up.
You have never seen a Hitchcock film in your life
Since when did your channel absolutely pop off?
Alejandro González Iñarritu the best one so far in my opinion.
0:07 where are the explosions
I don't know who Nicolas Winding Refn is but I want to watch his movies now.
I'm a filmmaker and i really love your stuff
Zack Snyder - slow mo for 5 minutes
I guess Anderson would show all the objects in the room first.
The last one needed feeeet. well done by the way.
Quentin Tarantino song
-Barracuda by Heart
How to tell people you've never seen a movie without telling people you've never seen a movie.
With Quentin I was expecting it to have the door open and only show your feet
Simply add pastel colours to the Hitchcock segment... It will look like a Wes Anderson film 😄
Nailed with the Inarritu one
Quentin Tarantino should have been a 5 minute perspective aimed towards their feet, that would be more realistic.
I think Tarantino will have focused on the actress's feet as she walks through the door and follow them until she sits down and crosses her legs, only then to turn the camera up and focus on the actress's face reading the book.
All good, but the hitchcock one is just great directing. Inspired, thanks.
i feel like michael bay s should be the camera slowly rotating around you all the time
Hitchcock really was a genius
Hitchcock is more than just suspense. He is also amazing at blocking.
I cant understand why this didnt blowed up
How you didn't start with a shot of feet for QT's version is wild lol
Great example and concept but with a lot of omissions since genres influence each style. Same scene shot in 5 different genres style of 5 different directors is more appropriate. The video illustrates how each director would have shot that scene while omitting the different genre style of those directors.
0:42 wow she is so literally me
Need a part 3 with Guy Ritchie!
If it was directed by tim burton it would be spooky
this is great, do more.
The NWR one is so true lmfao.
Totally wrong with the Hitchcock style. Hitch frequently did subjective camera: see the person, see what they’re looking at, see their reaction. Also agree that the Tarantino one would have had more feet.
Hitchcock went hard
0:02 mmmm excuse me where’s the explosions, 0:54 and the feet scene 🙄🤔🤔
Hitchcock! 👍... all the others were great too - especially Refn! 😄
Quentin should have had a trunk shot from the book opening
Nicely done
We want Part 3
The Hitchcock and Tarentino parts, holy shit. :D
How can i go without subscribing 😂
Wow, Thank You 🙏
endless blessings for you and your family
I love this absolutely fantastic
Tarantino would have also had a bird’s eye shot
Nah, should’ve got feet shots for the Tarantino one
Loved the Hitchcock
Do the Safdie brothers (uncut Gems, good time)
Great I liked the first part and I loke this one you have a future
I was hoping to see her feet for the tarantino part, but missed it
For Tarantino you should add a close up of feet..😂
Man u are talented ❤️
nailed it bro you're so talented
Briliant
Nicolas Winding Refh did the best.

Wow 😍
Do Robert Rodriguez and Tim Burton next!
Ce qui démontre l'importance de la musique.
Please make a tutorial about the crash zoom effect 🙏
I've been dying to know how do it
Where are the feet in Quentins version😂😂
No drastic change in aspect ratio throughout the clip, not very Micheal Bay -wise
I loved the tarantino one.. 💓
Please feature David Fincher next
What is the name of the music from the Nicolas Winding Refin Version?
we need tony scott style
What's the song used in the end credits of the Tarantino short?
Barracuda-Hearth
Steven Spielberg would probably have a very light colored shot
If this is Zack Snyder, then it's gonna be slow motion.
This already got recommended 5 mins in
How come they never do Kurosawa?
i expected Tarantion's Shot was Focused on Feet
Tarantino would follow with a close up of her walking to the table. Barefoot
Amazing ❤️💥
why she didn't show her feet in the last scene?
Well well well
QT's shot should have atleast started or ended with feet...
Love this
