I remember the first time I watched this video years ago. The format perfectly captures the way I feel about film. No discrimination of genre, just appreciation for the beautiful artform. There are some of my all time favourite shots in here. I believe I left a comment saying marry me lol. Really love this video, I still come back to it sometimes. Thanks for sharing.
Cinema involves music, audio design, visual art, literature, a representation of the entire spectrum of human emotions and actions, art of photography and technical application (direction, editing, visual effects, cinematography) and is surrounded by a whole economical system that busies itself with distribution, marketing and expansion. It‘s the perfect sphere of human endeavor to present what kind of beauty and greatness our species is capable of creating.

I haven't seen this video in years, I remember everyday after school in middle school just coming home and watching this video over and over again its so captivating, this video changed so much for me how I wanted to perceive the world and randomly it just showed up on my feed.
Love it, but I prefer the moment the ship pierces the exterior wall. (The Truman Show remains one of the greatest under-appreciated masterworks in the history of cinema.)
I put this on my CZcams likes around 6 years ago when I was serving in the marine corps. I was a lost kid who never considered himself artistic in any way. I am not watching this for the first time as a film student. Moral of the story is that life is a wild ride and this video is beautifully inspiring.
videos like this make me so happy that im pursuing filmmaking in college.. like i love movies so much its amazing how we can create works of art like this.
Idk why but I've always absolutely loved the shots of the red and orange burning sunset with the silhouette/s of people. Everytime I see one, no matter how many times I've seen it before , I think they are the most beautiful things ever. I also really love the shots of white backgrounds with something colored as the focus.
I come back to this video every now and then when the algorithm recommends it. I'm not a film person but this should be nominated for one of the best CZcams Videos of all time. It's perfect down to the last detail and perfectly captures what a CZcams video should be.
Paper Boi and sometimes the movie and the people behind it fail at that goal of powerful expression or evoking any meaningful reaction from its audience. So yes, there is such a thing as a boring movie. Boring is completely subjective but There are countless examples of boring movies.
i legit think this is one of the best videos on CZcams,i love this video so much that i avoid watching it multiple times so it remains the same experience
So many beautiful shots, a number of movies which I would not have included in my own version, a few films where I consider other shots to be the most beautiful that they offer, but that's what makes the medium so enjoyable. It's always subjective, and each of us can find beauty in the images of our choice. Beautiful song choice too btw. What a nice cover of a song mostly known from a movie. Quite fitting.
The scene in 1917 where he is running through the town with the lights should be added to this list. Also I KNOW this vid was created a while ago, I was just saying in the grand scheme of things I think 1917 has one of the most beautiful shots ever takin in a movie.
Just, start from when it pans from him touching the back of his head out the window, all the way to when he lands in the river. The framing of that archway, the music, the dawn slowly creeping up... 1917 is so amazing and I'm so beyond disappointed it didn't get the Best Picture Oscar.
@@snowangel7980 If it's good looking and have a nice soundtrack it does not mean it must win the oscar in fact it won best cinematography wich is awesome because of the amazing work that was put in the movie, especially in that scene you pointed out.
I’m not sure what this makes me feel. It’s like some sort of melancholy, nostalgic bliss. It feels as though I have forgotten these memories and am now remembering them. It feels as though I am dying, seeing my life flash before me, and this is the last thing I see. Though these are not my memories, but all of ours that we all have laughed and cried in. We know these characters. We have laughed with them, cried with them, sung and danced, mourned and grieved, loved and hated as they do. We all love this as they are our lives in a way. We are a part of this simply by losing a part of ourselves to it

But from what I’ve seen from this video, and some of the masterpieces from the last few years… cinema isn’t dead.

I think a silent voice and your name had some pretty great shots ngl but then again that might just be how the animation is rather than the actual placement of the camera
I thought the same. I also feel that longer/moving shots tend to outdo still shots but then the video would have to be a lot longer as well to include them. Film is about motion after all.
Life of Pi was the best movie I've ever seen the first time. The second time was kind of boring as it had lost that sense of exploration and discovery the second time around.
I recently watched Poltergeist and hadn't seen it since I when I was a kid (when it was released). I was in love with some of the cinematography, especially the closeups on the screaming characters. The shots of Jobeth Williams screaming are beautifully framed and lit...and she belts out some of the best horror movie screaming you'll ever see and hear.

After a cute animal compilation
you know why this is just utterly beautiful? because there is no plot, no characters, no conflict, just beautiful shots over and over again. you might recognize some, but not all. and you are left just simply staring, and enjoying.
And the music is a big part as well
It's the same with The Big Lebwoski
Ok, but that shot of children of men is questionable...

Everything about it is absolutely beautiful. The music, the scenes and the way it’s edited just give this really calming aura
I remember the first time I watched this video years ago.
The format perfectly captures the way I feel about film. No discrimination of genre, just appreciation for the beautiful artform. There are some of my all time favourite shots in here.

@Hello Again Why bring ethnicity into this? Am not white but can't someone appreciate art for what it's worth?
Cinema involves music, audio design, visual art, literature, a representation of the entire spectrum of human emotions and actions, art of photography and technical application (direction, editing, visual effects, cinematography) and is surrounded by a whole economical system that busies itself with distribution, marketing and expansion. It‘s the perfect sphere of human endeavor to present what kind of beauty and greatness our species is capable of creating.
yea
I think science is more appropriate, i mean science progress is the reason we're all still here now and in it's way is the first art

Wow you look beautiful. What's your name?

I come back to this video every now and then when the algorithm recommends it. I'm not a film person but this should be nominated for one of the best CZcams Videos of all time. It's perfect down to the last detail and perfectly captures what a CZcams video should be.
I've always come back to watch this once in a while
the entirety of Life of Pi is just so beautiful
I remember I used to watch it when I was a child, not knowing much that happened, as I was a foolish little kid, and doesn’t understand art and film
Life of Pi is a boaring movie, that you say you like just cuz theres good sceenery and they made it deep in a false way (sorry for my english)
Armando Carballes there is no such thing as a “boring movie” a movie is there to touch one’s soul or express the creator’s feelings
Paper Boi and sometimes the movie and the people behind it fail at that goal of powerful expression or evoking any meaningful reaction from its audience. So yes, there is such a thing as a boring movie. Boring is completely subjective but There are countless examples of boring movies.
Naira Bee well then, is it what we call “vulgar films”?

Yeah ,like the inferno , but also the last charge of Brit Army
The end also
Just, start from when it pans from him touching the back of his head out the window, all the way to when he lands in the river. The framing of that archway, the music, the dawn slowly creeping up... 1917 is so amazing and I'm so beyond disappointed it didn't get the Best Picture Oscar.

The whole movie you mean?
I’m not sure what this makes me feel. It’s like some sort of melancholy, nostalgic bliss. It feels as though I have forgotten these memories and am now remembering them. It feels as though I am dying, seeing my life flash before me, and this is the last thing I see. Though these are not my memories, but all of ours that we all have laughed and cried in. We know these characters. We have laughed with them, cried with them, sung and danced, mourned and grieved, loved and hated as they do. We all love this as they are our lives in a way. We are a part of this simply by losing a part of ourselves to it
