I carried this pack for the Fjallraven Classic in Hong Kong last year. It is very comfortable with a load of 11kg .
Great review. The pack is a great bit of kit for us hard users. Bushcraft, trekking and scrambling. Thanks again
Thanks for watching.
Ich habe ihn schon seit einem Jahr im Einsatz . Ich kann ihn nur empfehlen . PS. Wie immer ein Klasse Video !
Danke fürs Zuschauen.
Always a great review guys. Top kit 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. Paul.
good, to the point review right there, many thanks.
I got it in the same color. I love this backpack. The only thing i would change is to put another strap between the two straps, that connect the top to the backplate.
Reminds me of the old Macpac packs of yesteryear e.g the tuatara 35 from the early 2000s. Macpac take a leaf out of fjallraven's book and start making decent durable packs again. Maybe move production back to New Zealand?
When you pronounce the word ash, the first sound you make is the same sound used to pronounce the ä in Fjellräven. Sorted.
Great review. Makes me consider this backpack, as a worthy replacement of my Tatonka Vento 40, still with me after 20+ years of extensive use. Sadly though, it seems that nowadays backpacks hardly ever feature side pockets. Another workhorse of mine is Haglöfs Shosho 7000 which functions as well today as it did new, also 20+ years ago. No complaints there.
Eco is a selling point. No wrong with that. But surely there are "eco" qualities in any product that outlast decades of heavy use without maintenance.
Bergans, a quality Norwegian brand, sells side pockets that fit almost any pack.
Paul from Trekitt is the greatest!!!
Hi. Thank you for the review, it's great. I'm in love with this bag. I'm 4ft 7", though, would you recommend Kaipak 38 women for me? Thank you.
Yes, definitely
Love the side pouch design and the full-floating lid. Why not design with another zipper inside the stash pocket to access the pack that way??
Good question! The Friluft range (also by Fjallraven) have front zip access; I'll pop a link below. Harry
www.trekitt.co.uk/facetresults.aspx?Term=friluft
Which one would you recommend? The fjallraven kaipack 38 or the fjallraven abisko friluft 35 ?
The Friluft is more breathable and a more technical pack, the Kaipak on the other hand is tougher and simpler. If you'll need the breathable back system, Friluft, if you aren't fussed and just want a pack that will never die, Kaipak.
Hi,do you think it is a carry on bags on airlines? thank you.
This depends on the airline. Generally you can get away with under 40L of storage for carry-on, but we can't say for sure, so it's always worth checking the maximum luggage allowances first.
but anyway, thanks for your video, i already bought one, it is a nice quality proudct . haha
Between this and the fjallraven hike 35, which do you feel is the better pack?
There isn't a better unfortunately, it comes down to features. Personally I prefer the Hike as it has side entry, but the Kaipak feels tougher during use. You can't go wrong with either pack!
@@trekitt appreciate the reply
Would this bag be able to be allowed on a carry on flight? Or would I have to get it checked in
This depends on the airline; here are the Kaipak's measurements:
Height: 65cm
Width: 32cm
Depth: 27cm
Exactly 55cm is the frame so if you won't pack over the frame then it goes easily as carry on. I travel with the bag often as carry on without problem. I believe the 65cm is the max size.
Great review~! Can I put laptop in this backpack? Does it has laptop compartment ?
You can but there's no laptop sleeve.
Only thing missing imo is compression straps at the bottom for a small tent.
The theory behind leaving out lower straps is that heavier items (tent, water, food, etc) are better placed closer to your back. On the outer of the bag they'll pull you backwards, resulting in lower back stress. We do also stock the Kaipak 58 if you're after a little more room internally. Harry
Howdy can you pull the aluminum stays out of the bag?
No, unfortunately not. Or at least there's no native way we know of.
How much does the pack weigh?
1.6kg.
Please review the Singi28/48! Been struggling to decide which pack to get!
We stock the 48, so I'll add it to the list. Kind regards, Harry.
Are the hip straps detachable ?
Afraid not.
Ciao consiglio meglio kaipak o singi graxie mille ottime recensioni cone sempe
how many Frame in this backpack ?
Alan, the Kaipak has a twin stay, internal frame system and fixed back length. Paul.
This or the Friluft 35?
I personally opted for the Friluft as the entire front of the pack can open up, allowing me to grab my camera kit easily. It also fitted me a little better, however, both were really comfortable. If you can, try both on with some weight, but if not it's just a matter of personal preference based on which features you need/can live without. Kind regards, Harry.
Pity that the sponsored links directly underneath the video lead you to buy the pack from Cotswold Outdoor and Above & Beyond... So Trekitt do the hard work with an informative Gear video and others get the sales.
I think that's bollocks.
hey does that backpack fit everyone
It will fit most, but not all. If you're particularly long or short in the torso you might struggle to get an ideal fit.
@@trekitt thank you
No adjustment? What if you are 6’4”?
Paul is 6ft 3" which isn't far off, but it depends on the length of your back rather than your overall height. From experience, we've found that it tends to fit most people fairly well as long as the shoulder straps are adjusted correctly.
Trekitt thanks for the info
@@trekitt what about a 5'1" ?:)) I love it and want to order online so..
@@sarahjahanbakhsh2752 You'll need a Women's specific rucksack to fit your back length; I'd recommend having a look at the Abisko Friluft 35 with a Women's specific backsystem - I'll pop a link below. Kind regards, Harry.

@@trekitt thank you so much for your help🙏🏻🌸
So, there is not a lot to this backpack…how did you manage to miss the entire front zippered compartment?
05:52
The G1000 is not as durable as claimed, my ABISKO 35 has lots of rips and the stitching has come loose in many places.
That's a shame, in our experience it stands up to heavy wear and tear very well. Thanks for watching. Paul.
Really annoying that the side pockets are small and not flexible. What kind of new-age bag would create side pockets that can’t contain your phone?? W H Y?😅😰
"There's no adjustability" That's the problem....
The Kaipak does has a fixed back system which, admittedly, does restrict it's ability to fit a wide range of people. Here's a great alternative www.trekitt.co.uk/38732/products/osprey-mens-stratos-36-black.aspx or www.trekitt.co.uk/39890/products/lowe-alpine-airzone-trek-nd3340-raspberry.aspx
Last a life time only if you never use it. 20 years yep maybe
