    The floating lid is not so you can remove it. It allows you to lengthen the straps and add extra kit under it. We use this style in the military and it’s useful for stuffing tarps, wet kit and so on under without getting the inside of the compartment wet. It allows it to dry too. Mostly, it allows a roll mat to be carried easily.

    Thank you for the review. Made me try out this pack, as I'm in the market for such a thing. It is very, very well made, sturdy and also nice lookin' (if that's important). Unfortunately it is also very uncomfortable for me. I'm 179 cm tall (or 5,10 I think), have quite long torso and the thing would just dig into my lower back and hips and scrape them like a file, and that's just when walking around the store with it loaded up to 8 kg (17 pounds?). I cannot think what it would do to me on the trail. Tried other brands - none of them did something like that. I also asked the shop attendant to check if I fitted it correctly - he confirmed. So all in all - very nice pack, but you have to try it out.

      Good advice Re trying packs out. They're a bit like boots - not every boot will fit every foot, and not every pack will fit every back. Harry

      Hi Johan, I'm afraid the Kaipak isn't one of Fjallraven's models we stock. If we do venture deeper into Fjallraven's pack range then we'll make sure to have a look in the future. Kind regards, Harry.

    Thanks for the good insights! I was watching all of your three videos showing the fjällräven kaipak, abisko hike and abisko friluft today. But I don’t know which one of these backpacks to is to prefer. What is your favorite one?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Před 6 lety +3

      Personally my favourite is the Abisko Hike; I love the side entry, the simple design and the overall feel of the pack. The Friluft is better if ventilation is a priority, whereas the Kaipak is great for overall durability and simplicity for walking and travel.

    There's something I'd like to ask about Friluft 45 size.
    Is there any size range of the torso which fits perfectly on Friluft 45?
    I have torso size range about 40cm - 43cm, does my torso fit well on friluft 45?
    I really hope that you are able to answer this question, since I want to purchase Friluft 45 but I am still confused with the torso size. I am afraid that it wont fit well on my torso.
    Thank you for your information.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Před 4 lety

      I'm afraid there isn't a specific size range that this bag will fit; the only way to know for sure is to try it on with some weight inside. We'd always recommend trying a few different bags on, one after the other, to determine which fits you best and which carries the weight most effectively on your back. Kind regards, Harry.

    It seems like a great backpack! For what back length is this backpack suitable?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi, the back length of this pack from the top of the shoulder straps to the centre of the hipbelt is exactly 50cm. If you measure your back length and compare it to this, you should get a rough estimate. If you do find that the length is wrong after receiving it, you can send it back to us free of charge using our free postage label. Regards, Harry.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Danica,
      This isn't specifically a carry-on bag so I cannot recommend it. However, I have listed the dimensions below so you can check them against your chosen airline's specification (as each airline is different).
      Height: 68cm
      Width: 32cm
      Depth: 30cm
      Volume: 45 litres
      Kind regards,
      Will

    • @GolgoSixty
      @GolgoSixty Před 4 lety

      I was wondering the same thing. I think the dimension are above some european airline companies but the top can be compressed so if not too packed I would imagine it's carry-on compliant.

      The Kajka series has a removable lid, which turns into a waist pack, sling, or chest pack. The straps store in the underside of the lid and it clips to the front of the pack. I also modified my Bergtagen 38 removable lid with a single clip and some nylon strap to work the same way. The best true daypack/backpack combo I've had is the Mystery Ranch Stein 62. Cheers!

      It looks like the front section can be detached and be used as daypack. I guess this is a new version of Friluft (I googled "Nowy plecak" and it means New backpack in Polish). And also I found out that IWA is an outdoor exhibition hosted in Germany. www.iwa.info/ Although, hope you guys can confirm this with Fjallraven.

      Good spot. The Friluft pack we have in this video is the latest model, so I'd assume this Lapland version is either a special edition or a colourway yet to introduce itself onto Fjallraven's site.

    Рюкзак очень ПРОСТОЙ материал очень нежный и тонкий.
    Fjallraven это дешевая IKEA по цене за хорошую вещь!
    Шведы продают мешок из под картошки за 14 000 руб используя маркетинговые уловки минималистичный дизайн и материал G-1000 35% хлопок остальное переработанный полиэстер неизвестного происхождения то ли из Индийской реки Ганг или Африки где этого мусора горы.
    Не технологичный очень мало настроек по фигуре.
    Быстро промокает, мнется материал, быстро на себя собирает пыль и гряз которую с G-1000 материала трудно отмыть.
    Нет входа в нижней отсек рюкзака.
    Слабые молнии и собачки, нет пластиковых ремешков на застежках (просто привязан кусочек веревки)
    И самое смешное это верхняя петля для переноски вверху максимум под ТРИ ПАЛЬЦА!!!
    Мой совет вам покупайте The North Face - Banchee 50 либо Hydra 38 либо Griffin 65 вот где последние технологии и максимальное качество.
    Пока еще ни одной компании не получилось обойти The North Face !
    Не реклама попробуйте сами сходите в магазин убедитесь!

      Hi, I'm sorry that you feel that way about Fjallraven products, especially this bag. In our experience their products perform superbly, last for years, and can be easily repaired. But, hey, you can't please all the people all of the time. Thanks for watching.
