- A detailed overview of the Abikso Hike 35 by Fjallraven.
This is a quality 35 litre rucksack which has served me well so far. Impeccable build quality, this is a bag for life if you look after it.
I have used this bag on two wild camps and it was more than suitable. Looks the part too.

Another great Video from you, thank´s 👍 !
Welcome !
The first bag that i bought from fjallraven. Love at first sight and use. Nice vid!
Brilliant little bag isn't it, well designed and top quality.
Great something else for me to watch tonight as i sort my winter camping equipment out
Can't wait for some proper cold mate. Enjoy 👍⛰️
@@MCMOutdoors i am looking forward to snow ,, its been i long summer
Really nice rucksack. I'm a Fjällräven fan who owns 5 of their jackets. Warning to all others Fjällräven is an addiction! P.S. nice hat
Sounds good Chris. I'd love some of their jackets but ££££ 🙄 I think their gear is ace.
Chris Needham I suffer from the same. Kind of feels good. Use ex my Keb jacket 4 seasons. Love it
Thanks, great review.
Thanks for watching 👍
Man! Chris my Christmas list is now massive cause of you lol. Another great in-depth review. These two rucksacks have made it a tough choice. I like them both but would only be looking to purchase one, just don’t know which.
I'd say the Abisko was more geared to mountain walking mate. Both great packs though!
I just field tested mine in an overnight hike&camp, pack performed exceptionally well.
Good to hear. Its a great pack! 👏👌
Cheers mate, it looks good. Can't beat fjallraven for quality, I've got an abisko shape tent, "it's great for drinking beer in" (end of my tent review). I like the your hat too, trouble is I've got a small head and would look like benny from crossroads in one. Keep the vids coming, always good stuff.
Hahahaha! Literally nearly spat my drink out reading that! Cheers mate 😂🍻
Nice one brother.
Thanks for watching 👍
Just bought a new pack for next year to be honest, the Montane h20 Grand Tour 70, which is super lightweight and seems great. Got to say, that this does look like a quality bit of kit mind, although the daypack I use now, rests direct on my back and on a warm day, my back is soaking but that may just be me. Cheers Alan
Think most packs give a bit of the old sweaty back........ Doesn't bother me really. Your new pack sounds great. ATB mate
i do like the webbing straps and quality buckles
It's a great pack mate
Hi chris Nice one mate looks a great pack Thanks for the review Has your heating broke chris whats with the hat lol Take care chris atvb to you chris
Haha. Alright mate, I do actually try and keep the heating costs down when the little ones aren't here 🤣 plus I do love a good hat 👍😎
Thanks so much for the great review, Chris, I really appreciate it! I was wondering if the frame is removable?
Leon
Hi Leon, as far as I can tell, the frame is not removable....
Regards
Chris
Evening buddy 😁. Nice review very usable kit. What's it like to run with mate. Thanks for sharing mate ATB to you an yours.
I wish I could tell you 😅 I've never ran with it but I could say it would be fine, it's very secure. Top pack mate.
@@billygoatfilms7531 lol. Nice one chirs
Hello, could anyone tell me if this is a big backpack for 176 cm tall person? (5'6 in feet)
I've no idea why, but iMovie only recognised this as 720 ?!?!
Nice review man, where did u get that color though? cant seem to find it in that particular color.
Thanks mate. Got it online from Cotswold Outdoor 👍 colour just "green"
Are there two different shades of green for this backpack? Looking on the internet I found green one and a very light green/khaki (like on your thumbnail), but on fjallraven site there is only one green.
Yes mate. Dark Olive and Green..... Mine is just the 'Green'..... Enjoy the pack mate 👍
Where and how could you set up the bag with a sleeping bag or a tend? Are there any carry loops on the top or the bottom?
Hi Francesco - there are no loops, so it has to be a small tent which could fit inside the pack. If you use dry / compression sacks and have a small shelter, you could fit it in. Also, there are loops on the lid which would allow for elastic webbing to be fitted, so you could fit items on top of the pack. ATB, Chris
I would love this pack if they designed it in such a way as to have a water bottle holder or pouch on both sides of the pack. The zipper into the pack could be moved to allow for this.
I guess that's a fair point, but for me I find the full side zipper useful, so happy to make do with the one - I thought it might feel unbalanced but it doesn't. It's a great versatile pack 👍
Just get the Abisko Friluft then. It has a much more comfortable back system as well as the two water bottle pockets you want.
Tighten your waist belt first to make sure the waist belt is situated in the right position as this is where the majority of the load should be distributed. Then do the shoulders.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Nice review, thanks for your time. One quick question... you advise it's the 'olive green' colour.... on Fjällräven website they list 2 green colours - 1) Dark Olive - 633 and 2) Green - 620. It looks like yours is the 620 lighter green.... can you confirm please as this (yours) is the colour I want. Hate to order it just to arrive and have to return it. I live remote so have to order online. Cheers.
Hi Peter, thanks and good spot. I do apologise.... Mine is "Green".... Enjoy the pack. Let us know how you find it if you don't mind? We have a Facebook group so woukd be great to hear how you find it. Cheers. Chris
Hi Chris. I ended up getting the Stone Grey colour in the end - as much as I also really like the green you have..... the grey *just* won out as it just wouldn't have really went with my other gear. If I was starting afresh with all new gear I'd go for the green though. The grey is really nice, a bit more neutral and I'm over the moon with it - the quality is superb to say the least. I had it out for a quick few mile wander today and it's acceptably comfortable..just needs a bit of tweeking I think. Thanks again for your review, and pointing out some features I probably wouldn't have noticed! Peter.
@@peterbates1928 no problem Peter. Glad you like the pack and I'm sure you'll get many many years of enjoyment out of it. Cheers for the update 👍
If you get a minute Chris, assuming you've figured it out yourself, any chance you might upload a 30 second video on how to use the 'simple' metal loop system for walking poles? I just can't figure it out... the metal part seems superfluous, hence my intrigue. Thanks. Great channel by the way!!
@@peterbates1928 I will do, I'm off walking today then back in work tomorrow but will get it sorted within the next few days for you 👍
I would use the backpack on intermediate flights. Are the sizes accepted as hand luggage?
I think it's just outside the standard dimensions mate
@@MCMOutdoors could you advice another pack?
@@filipfrancois4198 by Fjallraven? I don't carry any on flight luggage to be fair. This looks OK: www.surfdome.com/Fjallraven-Travel-Pack-35L-Luggage/sd5043341.htm
If you have to read about it, you aren’t passionate about it or familiar
That makes sense .....
