Custom built truck with huge flex.

- After Jerry navigated his way through the golden crack on 37s without lifting a tire it was time for a bigger challenge. Slightly down from the golden crack is a bigger gap that usually only trucks on 40s navigate. Well Jerry makes it look easy on 37s!

Poor jeep was frightened. Toyota said "this is why no one will remember you"
Well considering that the Toyota was built for rock crawling, and the Jeep is still more than halfway stock, meaning it was built with flat pavement in mind from factory.... Yeah of course it won. That's like taking a regular person who kinda knows how to fight, and comparing them to a navy seal or Green Barret.
@@LorddOfChaoss Okay man I get it, the toyota's a beast sheesh.
@@schoopinprofit is not a real Toyota, real toyotas have IFS from factory
only bolt ons? looked stock to me
toyota guys be like....its stock...
Halim Spahi a
You mean them Jeep boys? Yeah they say that shit a LOT hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
That truck has ALOT of money into it.
erikaslt compared to a jeep not a lot yota all day and last a million miles lol 😂
Joe Doe unless those solid front axles come stock on a Toyota, he probably spent a lot of time and money on that truck
Yotas after 85 came with IFS front suspension. That truck received a SAS. Looks like either RuffStuff or Blue Torch axle housings.
We're not counting all the flash here. That sas and coils are only a couple days worth or bolt on mods at home. That ain't not fuckin jeep bitch.
I guess roughly $20,000?
always exciting to watch toyota trucks do their thing
I could do this in my stock 03 TRD V6 no prob broseph!!
Is what an uneducated, naive Toyota owner would say. Very clean build and execution, cudos and may your future builds be evermore glorious and awesome.
David Lopez 5th gen 4runner stock trd pro owners be like I can make it
Id hope so, that guy did it stock
Awesome! I need one lol. All bolt ons makes it even better haha
1:55 the car lurches forward and it's pancake time!
truck's great, but jeez that view though!!!
Love that Tacoma! Someday mine will be like that, someday
perfect demonstration why one should do a straight axle conversion on a tacoma.
Man what a beauty nice truck
awesome truck
Finally a YT video that doesn't suck elephant testicles. Well done. SWEET custom.
+Erik Tibbits Thanks!
Very cool!
Nice!
At this point, it's no longer a Taco or a Yoda, it's just some Frankenstein shit someone put together on a Yoda frame.
I like it , I like it alot !
Bad ass yota bro
So perfect.
nice video!!!
Wow, that is AWESOME. Is there a build thread anywhere for this truck? Great job BAMF, end results are incredible and functional hahaha.
This guy built the tube bumper for my 2nd gen Tacoma. It's been through some shit.
absolute hammer woooow
That's insane
Truck is highly modified with a solid front axle, long travle custom coil overs and 37s.... That's some good $$$
it ungulates like an all round deep travel Independent suspension!
Same guy in the blue shirt (spectating) that almost gets crushed by a Tacoma in another video. I thought that blue shirt looked familiar when he jumped across the gap! He likes to get in there and touch the trucks.......I'm guessing he keeps a little more distance now.
corstoyotaguy yeah that's dudes a dumbass if he thinks he can beat the weight of a
tipping car,especially a truck
Siiiick taco. Want!
So cool
I think I saw your Tacoma on Tacomaworld yesterday. If I remember correctly.
I think those are ORI struts... about $1K per strut. Plus his 4 link suspension and SAS. dude's got about $15-20K in this truck. Maxed out 29 credit cards
He owns Bay Area Metal Fabrication. Did all the work himself. Doubt he maxed out a stack of credit cards.
It's one of those things where DIY gets you a solid car but doesn't completely blow your bank
what lenth are those struts
BAMF for the win.
Looks about right, soon as he got rid of the Toyota about it, 20g's later it's pretty bad ass.
What about the engine and gearing? Toyota 😂 Idk why people continue to question Toyota when the proof is in the pudding 😓
I think someone at NASA might want that
would the fuel even burn in outerspace? like mars?
Soap Legend
Good point.
But don't worry, I believe NASA have other secret technologies they could utilise...
....like solar panels...
awesome
This doesn't look fun to me. I'd rather be in the woods getting sideways on dirt roads with my Pecker hanging out of my shorts. But that's just me.
Oh, that's because you're an idiot.
@real eyes realize real lies I’m with the buddy
@Chance Guess I’m an idiot too then.
that's a real pre runner
Is that 3 link suspension front and rear ?
Is that a 4 link? Can you send me the specs for the center h bracket?? Much appreciated
What game is this?
Where can I get that from bumper
what are the brand of those fender flares buddy?
i'm sure they would come close to fitting our hiluxs here in australia
+Shane Agalawatta I Believe they are either modified stock fenders or modified bushwackers.
What rims is he running if you know ?
nice vid.. is does that Taco have a SFA swap? .. looks like it does but hard to tell in the vid
+tony davis Yeah this truck has a SFA and it is heavily modified. This truck was built by Bay Area Metal Fabrication.
Can somebody tell me where I can get a front bumper like that please !!
What type of lift kit?
what front bumper is on the tacoma
if you have enough flex who needs lockers
true i suppose lol
Still need traction and having all tires spinning at once is great
Flex has nothing to do lockers
??? Flex and lockers tf? LOL... Tell me how you're going to go up a rock in a snow situation lol... Flex has nothing to do witth lockers...
Lockers have nothing to do with how his flex maneuvered through that.
What are the mods done on this truck? I've never seen shocks or a rear axle cage like that before.
+Propinionation axles look like heavily trussed ford 9 icnhes. Suspension is a double triangulated 4 link with ori struts.
What size rims and tires
When I turn 16 I wanted a jeep xj I changed my mind now I want one of those
Bradley Holland Vlogs always go Toyota not jeep
I have an 02, and it is spectacular.
If you wanted an xj just get a 3rd gen 4runner
that fucker creeps! definitely a dope ride!
I think I get more flex out of my leafs. But still cool truck
Where did you get those headlights from?
+Connor Pfeiffer They are a retrofit done to the stock headlights.
Am I the only person who notices that the truck has two trusses on the rear? One for the rear and one for the top/links. Dont ya think the 2nd truss is a little excessive?
Ya bolt ons from rough country😂
what kind of shocks are those on the Toy?
ORI Struts
how do trucks with extreme amounts of suspension travel handle at highway speed on bumps? is it all loose and sketchy?
Pretty well actually. He drove this truck from California to Moab and back while pulling a camping trailer without issue. The tunnel vision truck for example doesn't have a sway bar, but with the upgraded suspension it still handles smooth. More body roll, but not as ridiculous as one would think.
+Tunnel Vision 4x4 wow I'm very surprised..thanks for the reply..I always wondered if these seemingly purpose built rock crawlers were ok on road..
Keep it 60.and ur good
Slightly modified??? R I G H T.
damn dude... did that guy switch out his transfer-case or is he just running like >4.56's? 4.88's? Never seen someone crawl that slow. It's epic.
He has a Crawl Box as well so it is really reduced especially compound low.
ah. Crawl box + transfer case. Never even thought about that. I must not be as into off roading as I thought. lol.
Had that been a jeep......Rolled!
what truck brand is it
Saab sonata
his left fenderflair is loose
Sticky af.
Like a spider.
front bumper?
+cameron verspyck Bay Area Metal fabricationa
When you have to solid axle swap, it's not even the vehicle it used it be in the beginning. Toyotas basically have everything changed about them just to get to where a jeep starts out at
Clearly, this thing is far from a standard Tacoma. You don't have to solid axel swap it, but it's badass! The point of the video is to show a custom truck doing a seriously difficult angle on the golden crack. Most trucks would break something on this angle unless they had bigger than 37" tires. This particular truck is over-engineered and awesome for it! This is not a Toyota vs jeep video. My viewers and friends are Toyota guys so naturally the comments end up there. The guy that built this rig could do so with any vehicle. He's a master with metal and fabrication. With that being said Jeeps do not start out anywhere near this capable even with two solid front axels. Welcome to the channel!
can anybody tell me what kind of truck it is
+Jake Kern It's heavily modified First Gen Tacoma
is a nissan cumings.f150 bro.
How come some trucks that are lifted can flex like this one but other that are lifted can barely flex and can't really do what this one does?
The amount of flex depends on how the suspension is set up , this truck has a very impressive setup that's why his truck can felt like that
some trucks that are lifted can flex like this one because they disconnect heir sway bar which allow it to flex , when you see cars that cant flex as much as them because they have the sway bar connected
the solid axles give a lot of articulation. No sway bars. And the longer travel shocks and springs. Also note the really long control arms, going to almost the middle of the truck. most trucks and jeeps have much shorter control arms. (the rods holding the axles). Your run of the mill pickup will never have this much articulation because on the road that translates to a huge amount of body roll.
This truck is far from stock....Solid axles do not come stock on that year tacoma. Converting a tocoma from IFS to solid axles is in my opinion the best bang for your buck off road convertion that will take you from meager to wild. Great Taco!!
Build video guys? I can see it has ORI’s on it
รถแต่งสวยโว้ย
well I would be happy to help you with your vids, I can process them in HD up to 4k and replace the sound track with voice over music possibly salvaging the voice track with out the noise.
+my minds eye I definitely appreciate it and would legitimately like to take you up on it, but I do this on this as a hobby on the side, and I wouldn't be able to compensate you for your time. Thank you though!
+Tunnel Vision 4x4 no charge I do it as hobby too
40s my ass 😂😂👌
I'm not sure what you are referring to. The Toyota is on 37" tires, and typically the spot he goes over after the main golden crack is usually only done by trucks on 40s.
Doing it wrong: has a crawl box but pushes in the clutch and rides the brakes in.
a Hummer H1 done this stock
Adolf Galland you're on cracking 😂
that first gap tho, my '04 civic could do it...
rear
Is it just me or every sentence I hear "fuck"
No hay comparación toyota tacoma 2003 4×4 power
THis is a Toyo-wrangler with solid axle in the front. TRy a real toyota with IFS
It would be way easier with lockers
+Drew Latimer It's a manual with lockers front, back and a crawl box.
sorry didnt quite look like it nice build tho
Get a few more spotters. Just like a toyota drive can't pick your own lines
Yeah cause off roading alone all the time is so fun....
Thanks mom, im glad grammar is important too you. As for the jeep change the stupid bumper on the front, a barely modified jeep against a very modified turd
grammar? Who said anything about grammar. Dude you didn't type the words you meant to say. "Just like a toyota drive can't pick your own lines" makes a ton of sense. Be glad I'm not your parent because I would beat your ass until you learn to conduct yourself like an adult.
I could do dat with WRX
What's this good for? (Apart from circus freaks)...
Idk maybe rock climbing?
So edgy. So straight edgy and short tempered. Keep fighting the PC that is pussyfying this continent.
I could do it in my Porsche 911
Nice truck but that wind noise ruined the whole video. It's not hard to fix either but people never do.
+Corie Burk Sorry man, I am am amateur at making these videos. It's tough because if I spent the money on the right gear, I wouldn't have been able to afford the trip to see this in the first place. I do my best to make them as cool as possible for as many people as possible with whatever resources I have. I'll try to limit wind noise as best I can in the future.
+Tunnel Vision 4x4 I don't think you need to apologize to the idiots who get to enjoy the video. For free. They can always turn the volume down. Good job capturing the action.
WHAT'S THE POINT?
LET'S SEE HOW SLOWLY WE CAN CROSS A DITCH.
Well It's part of a trail, so the point would be to get to the other side. It's also simply a test of equipment to see if he can cross this big of a gap.
I guess different things impress different people.
drServitis you're dumb. If you don't like it don't watch it. No one cares what you like you low life Toyota hater.
You probably have a high end mall crawler that has never flexed besides rocking on a big speed bump unlike the dude crossing a dangerous ditch.
Of course, it's a toyota, not a ford.....
Extreme flex is highly overrated.
Nothing compared to Aussie four wheelers
Ots not AS fun when its easy
Mall crawler...take it off road and show me what it can do....this is a waste of truck.
WHOOPS WRONG VIDEO
The only thing stock about that truck is the door handle... and even that is questionable.
L
Ford raptor could do a better job by far and all stock no mods
