  • After Jerry navigated his way through the golden crack on 37s without lifting a tire it was time for a bigger challenge. Slightly down from the golden crack is a bigger gap that usually only trucks on 40s navigate. Well Jerry makes it look easy on 37s!

      Well considering that the Toyota was built for rock crawling, and the Jeep is still more than halfway stock, meaning it was built with flat pavement in mind from factory.... Yeah of course it won. That's like taking a regular person who kinda knows how to fight, and comparing them to a navy seal or Green Barret.

    When you have to solid axle swap, it's not even the vehicle it used it be in the beginning. Toyotas basically have everything changed about them just to get to where a jeep starts out at

    • @TunnelVision4x4
      @TunnelVision4x4  Před 4 lety

      Clearly, this thing is far from a standard Tacoma. You don't have to solid axel swap it, but it's badass! The point of the video is to show a custom truck doing a seriously difficult angle on the golden crack. Most trucks would break something on this angle unless they had bigger than 37" tires. This particular truck is over-engineered and awesome for it! This is not a Toyota vs jeep video. My viewers and friends are Toyota guys so naturally the comments end up there. The guy that built this rig could do so with any vehicle. He's a master with metal and fabrication. With that being said Jeeps do not start out anywhere near this capable even with two solid front axels. Welcome to the channel!

    • @chromesneakers7481
      @chromesneakers7481 Před 8 lety +1

      The amount of flex depends on how the suspension is set up , this truck has a very impressive setup that's why his truck can felt like that

    • @gameu48709625
      @gameu48709625 Před 8 lety

      some trucks that are lifted can flex like this one because they disconnect heir sway bar which allow it to flex , when you see cars that cant flex as much as them because they have the sway bar connected

    • @ThomasXp
      @ThomasXp Před 7 lety +1

      the solid axles give a lot of articulation. No sway bars. And the longer travel shocks and springs. Also note the really long control arms, going to almost the middle of the truck. most trucks and jeeps have much shorter control arms. (the rods holding the axles). Your run of the mill pickup will never have this much articulation because on the road that translates to a huge amount of body roll.

  • @civiSapper
    @civiSapper Před 6 lety

    This truck is far from stock....Solid axles do not come stock on that year tacoma. Converting a tocoma from IFS to solid axles is in my opinion the best bang for your buck off road convertion that will take you from meager to wild. Great Taco!!
