Dude in the XJ is just having fun. Goes to show you don't need to spend big to have fun. That being said, that Grand Cherokee is pretty sweet
Lol, that duct tape fix was pure XJ energy. As an XJ enjoyer I approve that message.
@@rodnabors7364 Here in Canada, it's widely known that unless you have haywire and duct tape on hand, you're not ready to be offroad. Haha.
💯 %
After owning 3 Cherokee, a 96, 98 and 08. Tuff little boogers. A friend had a 2000 decked out that was the worst I've ever seen for the front coming up on incline. I was stupid times 3 for getting rid of my Cherokee's.
Looking for something at the present.
@@rodnabors7364f009
It's pretty cute that Bronco has a "Help me" alarm!
I think that Bronco’s two biggest downfalls were the bumpers and the driver. That XJ is a force to be reckoned with.
The driver was the main problem from what I can tell.
That thing was bucking all over the place lol. I’m glad the fellas gave him so much crap. He deserved it lol
Stupid Bronco driver does not need to be driving a manual. He has no idea what he's doing.
My God with all that money in the bronco it looked like a fat turd on those obstacles. Take that pile to the junkyard asap.
don’t forget it’s IFS vs SA
That white XJ is everything I love about cheap 4x4’s. What a champ, swinging WAY above its weight class!
That Bronco should officially have to remove that sticker on camera now
That's just the type of things that happen when you have a lose nut behind the wheel.
Broncos suck
Jeep eater lol
So much this.
It needs the same mods as an AMC Eagle to get over that trail, everything.
Quite embarrassing
That XJ on 33's and mostly all stock was an inspiration. Give me hope for my 99 XJ on 33's 8.25 rear, Dana30 front once I can afford to get lockers in 😀 It seems to me from watching all these channels, it is a win if you drive it in and drive it out so thumbs up to everyone!!
I got the spartan rear locker and it's a goat just with that
Yeah spartan front same set up, with limited slip rear, shit will literally do anything. Good tread and long arms, it's better than built jks. Perfect wheelbase too.
an XJ on 33's will go so many places!]
I have an xj on 33's with open diffs and I was flat out shocked the first time I took it out what it could do. Had to back down one obstacle, and it was because I was too off camber and kept raising a wheel and spinning it. Lockers would have changed everything.
Spartan in the front with a limited slip in the back is a deadly little combo. Point the front and it will take you there
Dude with the XJ flat punked all those expensive builds. Kind of crazy to see. I was quite impressed.
This is probably the best episode of Bleepin Jeep. This shows what is necessary in a rig to have fun. It also shows the difference between good drivers and not so good drivers. Same can be said with the spotters as you can tell by Matt's comments. 😂
Not everyone is good at driving up rocks
Painful to watch the driving.
brit does the best videograhy, but this video is Way more fun!!!
Bronco is the clear winner, by failing in such epic fashion. I have no words for the XJ/ I swear the dudes positive attitude makes that thing 20 percent more capable than it seemingly should be.
Or just better driving, line choice, throttle control.
The Bronco is garbage...My 99 Xj will outlast and outwheel this junk all-day, everyday
@@bobquattrini1787 I rode with a friend in his '69 Bronco 302 3 speed. We passed many CJs unable to climb what we effortlessly climbed in the San Juans back in the early 70s. So... Ford sets out to re-invent the wheel.
XJ for the win 🥇! Goes to show you that you don’t need to spend big money to have fun! 👍🏻
How much do you think XJ's and mods cost...?
@Full Swing there are only 25 XJs listed on car gurus at that price or lower nationwide and they are not pretty. That's less than 1 XJ per state. Almost half of all XJs cost more than $10k.
Im from Australia and you pick up XJs for about $2-3k, so if you spent that again on mods you have a pretty capable rig for $6k
@@GetCampingOz yeah we're not so lucky on car prices in the US.
@@erenbecomesdovecrying6016 where do you live?
XJ was by far the most impressive between driver skill and the fact that it was right there next to some "high dollar" builds the entire time.
The 33" tired XJ with farm implement parts FOR THE WIN! Kudos for the Bronco being able to complete the trail. The rest of the gang were very entertaining and in some cases educational. BleepinJeep for the excellent editing and drone footage.
An XJ with a D35 showing up a Bronco. Love it!
The broncbuster definitely won the award for costliest rollover with all those airbags that went off 😂
Insurance would probably total it out. I did less of a roll in a 2014 F150 and it was a total loss
@@wes3527 Rolling is pretty much always a total. If the framework gets bent and damaged, they'll say it isn't suitable should another rollover happen and total it out.
@@BlueOvals24 Does insurance actually cover rock climbing? No way right? Im assuming its like taking your car to the racetrack? Insurance won't cover racetrack accidents either.
@@javiersilva1577 That's why you don't tell them about the offroading part 👍
That white XJ is my doppelgänger. Same color, same lift, same tire size, same flares. These things just go! We just drag belly a bit more. 😆
I remember when 33s and 35s were considered “Big tires” on the trail.
Back in the 2000’s we took our XJ’s with 33’s and 35’s on the hammers. Lots of home made skid plate and steering box/track bar frame enforcements, not much after marker support.
The XJ with the least amount of mods made it look easy with the basic 6 cyl. WJ was a close 2nd having the grunt of that 4.7 V8. Both had the balance in the obstacles. JK seemed to have a shorter wheel base I think but got the job done. Bronco just had some bad luck but never quit. Great times!👍👍👍👍
That XJ was impressive. Josh WJ was very capable and well build I like his T-rex break noises. Bronco sounded like something was breaking all the time
On a $ for fun basis the XJ smoked everyone. The WJ you built really works well and Josh's driving style seems well suited to it. Good job!
I enjoyed this episode far more than I thought I would, and that XJ and it's driver are the clear winners.
I'm honestly surprised that Bronco did so well. With the independent suspension in the front, I don't know why people are comparing them to Wrangler's and vise versa. I really like the new Bronco's, and I really like Wrangler's, but they're definitely two different beasts lol
He had trouble from the beginning and flipped. How is that doing good? He proved agian Ford is a pice of crap. He was out done by a $2,500 xj. I bet he has $100,000 into that turd.
Well, most people compare them because they're directly competing with Jeep's for sales. Anyone who buys a Jeep or a Bronco has weighed the pros and cons of each before making a choice. For offroad and overlanding, these are the top 2 choices, even if they have different front end design. I personally prefer solid front axle.
@@BroncLander Why do you prefer a solid front axle?
@@stormbarnicle7545 they're stronger, less expensive, and perform better off road
Not sure that rolling on your lid is considered performing "well".
Pretty obvious the Bronco was going to end up on its roof, even from early on in this video. Thanks for the excellent adventures guys. Love that old basic white XJ. Winner!
Not a surprise to anyone. The driver of the Bronco was horrible right from the start of the video.
It was obvious because this is a Jeep fanboy channel, so they picked shit lines with the Bronco and left it stock to compete with built trucks.
@@BlueOvals24 the Bronco wasn't stock. The driver states all of their upgrades later on.
@@SooksVI exactly you can tell the bronco was modified alot like the Jeeps to do this kind of recreational fun.. the problem was the driver.. he seemed... novice?
@@Sabre912yeah I was getting the same feeling.
#1 - XJ great overall performance, from line selection to driver confidence.
#2 - WJ meet the high expectations and visibly saw the driver gaining confidence in the rig.
#3 - JK did decent overal on obsticals but more driver finess was exibited by the ther drivers.
#4 - FB did ok, I was disappointed by the approach / departure angles vs the other rigs seemed to make things harder, driver skill needs improvement.
Great day of fun in the end, was cool to see Josh out enjoying his new toy!
yea i was wonder why the bronco was taking stupid approaches and lookin like they tried to be bad.
@@loganjackson1606
I noticed early on the approach issue. At 2:34 he can't get his tire up to the rock like the other Rigs were able to do. That trend continued.
@@loganjackson1606 it is almost as if they intended for the Bronco to look terrible out there...hmmm...Either that or that driver was really inexperienced.
Guy was drivin that Bronco like he hated it.
dude the bronco sucks for this stuff i even have a scale bronco rc and that damn bumper catches EVERYTHING.
Bleeping great video. Love watching how you guys wheel the tough stuff. Saw Tyler in TN after this and couldn't see much damage from the rollover.
Being an XJ owner, I have to tell you that I love your content! It's like watching Les Claypool's altar ego.
The xj showed everyone up imo...... someone on another channel said they are dead. Looks alive and kicking and makes me proud to own one.
It was a great time running the trail out there with Matt & Josh, Tyler, and Richard. We all had a lot of fun both driving the trail and ribbing one another along the way. Y'all are a great group of people. Grace & I had a blast!!!
Thanks again Matt & Josh for running the trail with us (I think you're one of the few who would go to Pritchett with a jeep on 33's) LOL
PS...Tyler just happens to be running Pritchett again today as part of bronco safari this week!
Lol, really?? I hope he does better this time around. It was a blast! Until next time! 🥳
You all won. Period.
Thanks for giving Oregon XJ's great representation!
Yeah you guys did amazing! On 33s! Definitely the winners in this challenge.
Levi I really enjoyed your part in this Adventure. I sure hope that you keep rolling that vehicle up over things that far "superior" machines can't. Well Good Sir. Cheers - \m/,
I really like the pin lock feature. And all the other options. But I think the pin lock and turn assist are my favorites! Thanks for making a great video!
That was an amazing comparison of vehicles on a difficult trail. I think that tires played a roll in the 40's gang. The Bronco came out of the roll over with less damage than expected. But for the win - I have to go with the Cheap Jeep XJ on 33's. What an incredible vehicle that seems to be built just right.
The guy in the bronco needs to learn to keep his arms in the vehicle at all times.
I give that guy in the Bronco credit..he’s been beating and breaking that thing nonstop for the last year or so and just keeps fixing and improving it. All that bouncing makes for out of control wheeling and a lot of busted stuff. For a new rig that WJ is very smooth and the thought put into it really shows.
If it was a better rig he wouldn't need to abuse it as bad. The XJ did everything much easier. When it comes down to it, all rigs are just tyres, suspension and wheelbase. After that it's driver.
With all that money he's been putting in it he could of bought a jeep already..lol..
@@1one3_Racing ’m not into off-roading but I like these videos. Serious question here. Rock crawling puts a lot of wear and tear car not to mention damage. Why would you buy a new car to do this instead of modifying an older one. Where damaging it, isn’t such a big deal?
@javiersilva1577 because he makes parts for it and it's advertising.
Because people have too much money.
Because people don't care about how their vehicle looks.
Lots of reasons.
@@1one3_Racing really
The day clearly goes to the XJ! Mostly stock rig keeping up with the pack. Definitely the most impressive of the lot!
Just absolutely love the Bronco flip and car alarm 😂 music to my ears.
With the Bronco struggles, I think half of it was driver error. But happy the Bronco buster parts are helping it become more capable (less broken parts)
The XJ made most of the obstacles with far less drama than the others. For being a fresh build right out of the shop Josh and his WJ did amazing! By comparison, I would have thought the JK would have done better than it did. As for the Bronco, it's a good thing that the Jeeps were there to rescue him.
The Jeep Eater, saved by Jeeps. Reminds me of an H2 I saw once that had a: "Not a Jeep" sticker on the back, stuck in the mud and being pulled out by a Wrangler. Irony at it's finest right there.
I think everyone can agree with this comment
"built it with my own hands" all top dollar bolt on parts 🤣
Great vid, one of the most challenging trails.
Have to give it to the XJ on stock diff’s, lunchbox lockers and 33”s!! I never would of believed it 😂, honestly blown away.
Too many egos lol. I love your sarcastic commentary. Cherokees for the WIN! Love the WJ and always partial to an XJ.
The WJ did fantastic, but that damn little XJ was amazing!!
You 4x4 guys are nuts. I had my first taste of climbing a hill. This is insane.
Really nice video, hard obstacles and funny narrative!
Thanks for sharing.
That XJ almost makes me think I can afford to offroad
That XJ on 33's did amazing! The Bronco did as I expected.
Broncos suck 👎
I did Pritchett canyon with my old club, The Renegades, out of Atlanta back in 2001 in my 98 TJ. I think I was on Swamper SXs - 36s with dana 44s front and rear. On the way out to the road I found a dog that someone forgot they let out to follow along. He was happy to see us and we found his owner back in Moab. It was a fun ride. I still have the old TJ now with 70k on it 25 years later. Still running and riding and looking good. Had the same Swampers on it until last year.
I did pritchet with the naxja and Socalxj folks in 2001 in October. Lots of fun. Still have my XJ. 35’s we’re big Back then. Most everyone drove up to Moab from all over the country.
Love the WJ. That XJ on 33's was impressive.
Hey Bleepys, This video is hilarious. I love all the “trash talk” Alpha male spotters for the win. Also favorite part “Hand built myself in my garage, Crate Axles & bolts on parts” 🤣
Unibody’s for the win!🎉
That guy was a tool😂
This JK guy is such a dork
My favorite video from Moab so far this year
I knew that Bronco was in trouble once the bucking began. Good stuff man, you been helping the Jeep peeps for years.
Appreciate you giving some info on some of the vehicles tire size, suspension, etc. great channel 👍🏻
I’m Glad That Bronco Rescue Vehicle was there we needed a Real 4x4 on that Trail.
Yep
This video solidified my reasons for not wanting the new Bronco
"A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN XJ HISTORY" UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE ! The unstoppable Unibody, Dana 35, 600$ lift kit w/optional Allen Wrench 🔧 Making me want to go backwards, I'm not buying XJ number 7 😂 but G.D. that sucker was unstoppable on 33s, Excellent Video 👍
Super great video! Partially broken stock XJ on 33's. Really impressive!! Should have gone that route vs jumping in the deep end with our JK. With the XJ, if I rolled won't care. Certainly all makes for a better drive. Great job bud! WJ did awesome job too! Both made those trails look easier. :) It's all about taking the right line and having an experienced guide you trust! Bronco. Respect taking your new rig out there and leaving it all out on the field. Anxious to check out your next group video. :)
That was a fabulous video. Much tougher trail than I can try with my stock Trailhawk but lots of good lessons. Great job spotting the lines,
Dang……That was one narly trail! Yet, epic scenery and epic jeeping! Glad you all made it out safely and almost in one piece. Impressed with the XJ!!
Really, really NICE video - nice story, nice cameras, nice editing, and very nice drone shots... NICE...!
Thank you.
Without the awesome spotting, that may have been an even longer day! Great video, everyone gets mad respect.
I'll vote XJ for being the Least Built, WJ for making things look easy, JK for well being a wrangler 😉, and finally the Busted Bronco for completing the trail with jeep assistance 😎!!!
Overall great Video as usual bleeping Jeep!
I love that quick little high-speed drone shot. You should do more of them but make them a lot longer do that up the trails you’re going to run before you go so we can see what you’re in for
The XJ was surprisingly impressive!
Any video showing a brand new car rolling over is worth 5 stars ⭐️ 🌟 ✨
That little XJ was impressive. Peck Brothers drove Prichett in a nearly bone stock TJ without breaking anything too. Maybe Dana 35s aren't as weak as some believe?
It's all about the driver
Impressive, but I wouldn't want to give the credit to the D35... they still suck :D
They got a bad rep in the 90"s when Dana had some bad axle hardening on the first C clips .
That was actually a chrysler 8.25, not a dana 35.
@@rodgood I just finished swapping a D35 with a bad pinion bearing for a Chrysler 8.25. Admittedly it was probably from a poor setup by the PO, and not the inadequacy of the axle itself.
FUN-J all the way! The fact that thing is just a little above stock and is representing for the rest of us nickel and dime doers, the XJ just proved even a modest build with skill and guts can get it done.
Great Commentary. This is the first BleepinJeep video I've watched. Good Job. Not boring for sure.
The narrator has the best voice for this. Not over powering. Mellow. But comical. Great video too! Wrangler owner for life!
That XJ was a beast for the size of it
Nice that the bronco has an alarm setting to let you know when it's not level
The Bronco sticker on the Cherokee was so on point for this video.
The XJ was hands down the best rig for the money out there.
Well good thing y'all had the bronco recovery unit.
I think the xj was amazing. And I love how the bronco kept beeping at him after the roll over. Kinda like a woman telling you. I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT. LOL. I think you guys did a great job on the wj build. And Josh rocket the trail. Love the channel thanks.
One of the better videos I've seen if not the best. Enjoyed the whole video
I enjoyed this episode far more than I thought I would
I mean I think it's a tie between the Grand Cherokee and Mats off-road recovery Moorvair. That grand Cherokee is no joke.
Does insurance even cover that for his Bronco? I've read some places that you have to have off-road insurance or something.
As for the XJ... Matt said it ... You can take a Cherokee and put it on 33s a modest lift and disconnect the sway bar and beat anybody... He was right!
I was on one of many club trips in Moab, we were doing the really high sand run ( can't find the name, long time ago ), my guide with the super bad jeep, and my hardcore D90 with a V8 and custom blower were the only ones to make it up, at any rate ( power, skill ) a discovery in our club ( I think it was a manual, rare ) but stalled half way up the hill, lost his brake pressure ( two pumps with no engine ) and rolled about 6 or 7 time down the hill, there was red all over the passenger windshield.... we all raced up the hill on foot, fortunately it was from a pizza they were snarfing, their insurance covered it ( not the pizza, the truck ) . I have also seen and helped rescue a classic Chevy bronco with a fatality at Hollister Hills fortunately the passengers were ejected to safety ( 200 foot++ roll ) , not the driver. I had to winch the the overturned blazer at the request of the FD, it was not a pretty site, short seats, fiberglass top. I then held training sessions for club members of how to handle this situation on failed hill climbs and engine failure and one or two pumps on the brake booster is all you got! This was in the late 1990's insurance may have changed. Check your insurance. I'm in CO now, but case in point for insurance we had a huge fire 2 years ago, 1000 houses burned down, I got lucky burned my front lawn filled the house with ash, melted the badges off one of my cars out front, other neighbors nearby, complete loss, their insurance was not up to rising house prices in the area, 200k-300k short on rebuild costs... I keep up on mine because we had two cabins burn in the wilderness in another CO fire in 96 under covered no longer to code built in 50's, so the point being keep up on your insurance, practice hills climbs with engine failure, join a club with skilled drivers. Also our club used to have various off road rallies, timed way points ect, swap tires with just a hi-lift jack, reset the tire bead with starter fluid, custom potato cannon :) but most important, come across a wreck in the wilderness, find and treat the victims, be skilled!
Great video ... watched the entire thing - I've got a new Bronco, so I was obviously rooting for Tyler and the BroncBuster - it hurt my soul a bit when he ended up on his roof, and then the tie rod at the end was just insult to injury ... but I gotta give it up to the WJ - that thing is a BEAST... but for absolute style and points to the underdog - the XJ wins, no doubt. That was impressive as hell. Great job everyone.
Ford bronco so bad on 40s a xj on 33s wooped it's ass. All that for $100,000 what's not to like about the new ford flex.
Also a new Bronco owner here. Shout out to Tyler for putting his Bronco through its paces. I’m totally new to off-roading and a good while off from putting mine through such extreme courses. For me, I thought a bit more patience in “rearing” the Bronco would have gone a long way to preventing a rollover, but nevertheless I benefited from watching this video!! I think overall the XJ took the day! Great driving and what a beast! I’m very proud of my Bronco but won’t be putting a “Jeep Eater” graphic on it anytime soon. Great video!!!
Loved all the vehicles but that old military Jeep was my favorite. Props for the guy taking that thing out.
Nice rock crawling video, and the enthusiasm/personalities of a rock too
What I can see that the bronco is over rated for they cost great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and stay safe
99 percent of people who buy one will never take it off road…
All brand new off roaders are too expensive for what you get. How can you have fun when you're always inches away from totalling a 40k truck?
It only appears overrated if a bunch of biased Jeep fanboys make the Bronco take shit lines and leave it stock.
@@BlueOvals24 😂😂 You sound like a Ford fan boi!
@@officialWWM Because I wanted to watch an unbiased comparison? I didn't make a biased comparison video, I'm way less of a fanboy that the schmucks in this video 😂
Must be pretty embarrassing for that Bronco owner when a 20 year old, $2000 XJ can pretty much drive around you 😂 Better remove the “jeep eater” sticker 😂
And he fully rolled it down a hill recently haha
I love showing up in my beater XJ and surprising everyone. Simple mods, long arms, lockers and 35s on the stock axles. 😂
Or put more sticker says “got eaten instead” 😂

That XJ was the best considering how little money he put into it. It’s basically stock XJ. 😂 love it.
The sped up kazoo music bronco part made me spit out my coffee lol
I’ve loved my 2000 xj from day one but this video blew my mind. And you guys did an amazing job with that wj. What a beast!!!
I'm not a 4x4er but that was amazing! Fun to watch!!
Ok so the wj was awesome. The Xj on 33s was killer. What’s the wheelbase on that? What would you say the ideal wheelbase for a “small” tire rig would be for this trail?
That was the most XJ thing I've ever heard: only needed the winch to fix the steering.. XJ & WJ dominated. Their wheelbase and driver skill made the difference.
I build Explorers and early Broncos. I have a friend I wheel with that has an XJ all cut to pieces, welded diffs and stock axles on 31s and he makes a lot of JK and buggy drivers very angry. I would do the same back when I wheeled my Explorer the same way on IFS, welded diffs, 33's, and lots of weight reduction. Brings me back to my roots to wheel cheap rigs like that. That's one of the reason's I'm voting yall in for UA. I love that you're building an underrated, uncommon rig.
Thanks Bubba, we need the daily votes!
@@bleepinjeep PS I'm only like 6 hours away from yall. You should come wheel at SMORR in Seymour MO next time you're passing through from TN to UT or CO!!
XJ with an Allen wrench and duct tape has my vote.. Lots of fun on not such a big budget build!
The WJ is a very sick build! But I think the XJ made everything look easy. I haven't had my XJ to Moab yet because I keep saying it's not ready, but it just might be.
Bronco rescue vehicle! Lol awesome!!!
I NEED that on my Jeep😂
Wicket trail and and great wheeling! But indeed, the XJ was the most impressive getting the most out of the least. However, this was really the solid axles against the independent A arms and FLEX matters - A lot 🥵
That dude in the WJ knows exactly when to get on and get off of the gas. Good driving
That little XJ on 33s brought the A game. Awsome that thing kept up with the big Jeeps (and showed up the BustedBronc).
The WJ took the day for sure but that XJ… took the WIN 100% that beautiful XJ is why their the greatest off-road rig of all time.
WoW, such friendship among these guy's is awesome. Go Josh! 🇺🇸
That Bronco driver needs more seat time. The guy with the teenager definitely won that if we factor in that his jeep is held by duct tape 😂
XJ and WJ definitely killed it !! Makes me wanna build my WJ !
I’m sorry Josh, but it’s XJ all the way. The owner of that XJ is the true representative of blue dollar wheeling. Minimal spend, build itvwith what you have (his full hydro from a tractor ram - niiiiiice!). Josh’s built is great and capable, but I’d like to see the $ tally on it, and the XJ did almost everything on 33’, Dana 35s, OX lockers and a reasonable lift.
I’m « new » in this Jeep thing (leased a 2019 Sahara Altitude that I just bought off at the end fo the lease, with stock axles and open diffs) and it gives me hope that I could improve on my Jeep to be able to have moderate fun at a budget prices. I’m starting to think that I might get away with keeping the small axles as long as I’m not acting stupid on the trail and taking more that the Jeep (and driver!) canchew.
I think Josh did the best in his amazing WJ, followed by "the little energizer XJ that could kept going & going & going", then the JK that should've done a lot better & the expensive underperforming (IMO) Bronco bringing up the rear. Thanks for the amazing video & the always funny & entertaining commentary!!1
I am so happy y’all called the WJ a minivan. 😂😂
Looks like it was a great day apart from that bloomin Bronco I thought they would be pretty good off road 😢 I like Ford but don't work there, good seeing Jeff and Bam Bam in the Flat fender they do a good job through their, too bad about the damage, 😮 thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
