- My truck at Tuttle Creek ORV, KS 6/11/10 - 6/12/10
I just installed the dual cases, made a world of difference.
Watch for the broken driveshaft at the end. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I had an 81 Toy 4x4 back in the 80s with 22R carb engine.... 3 inch lift, 31 inch tires... so much fun.
You got to be the ultimate in 4wd!
Cool little crawler you have there I used to have a redish orange 79 it was my first truck ever I bought it in high school rebuilt it from the ground up by myself and then got bit by the Toyota bug.
Nice park to drive around in. I was there with friends the last of July. '46 Willys a '99 Kia Sportage and my '99 Ram 1500. Bummer some of it was flooded.
sweet truck man
Ok thanks man! Your trucks bad ass
I saw pictures of the flooding, it was pretty crazy. It is all back to normal now.
I'm glad the wipers work.
@313foxbody420 Yeah, it uses a ton of oil. I picked up a new engine for it, I'll rebuild it and put it in this winter. It's a 22r.
The tires are 36x13.50 Iroks. The truck has the stock axle in it with 5.29's, Longfields, ARP hub and steering studs.
I used a 4xInnovations dual crossmember. I had to modify it for the first gen frame.
Cel mai tare depinde de profilul cauciucurilor, abia apoi de puterea motorului si de tehnica conducerii
Mulțumiri
@googIed That's a broad question without an easy answer. Pretty much everything has been replaced or modified, the only thing that is left of the original drivetrain is the axle housings.
It probably had about 200,000 on it here. It was getting pretty bad, the rings were shot. It had some pretty bad oil leaks and, like an idiot, I had run it out of oil a few times. By the time I pulled the engine compression was so low I'm surprised it even ran.
Thanks
It's a 12" bob. Just enough for the rear of the frame to come through the rear of the bed, made for an easy bumper attachment. 10" would be perfect if you didn't want to cut out the rear of the bed under the tailgate.
They are Alcan 5" springs. I'm going to be changing them this spring, they don't flex very well.
Sick truck brutha 1st gen is the only way to go, my 81 looked just like yours same tan even but on wildcats and a black bobbed bed, getting rid of it was the stupidest thing I've ever done
@herbienbrian2 Yep, it was pretty tired here. It has a new engine in it now.
Pretty much, and it's a state away from where I live. Tuttle Creek is the closest decent place to go.
@jbtvt I'd say there is about 7-8 PSI in the tires here. Lately I'm running about 3-5 and it's a lot better.
I'd say Longfield's are definitely worth the money, I put them in almost 5 years ago and haven't thought about them since.
nice
I had a 1980 about the same as yours I put 33s and 3 inch body lift on it the engine was a 21RU I don't think it was the original engine had good times with it
I was before I put in duals, it has a W56 in this video
sweet rig... are those the biggest hills in the state though??
That is one sick truck!!! But why are you running tire PSI so high? Longfields worth the money?
how much did you bob the bed? i have an 82 longbed that im building and i dont wanna chop the bed too short haha
36's in this video, it's on 39's now
How many miles were on the motor in this video? Just wondering, because I'm kinda looking for a 1st Gen
how much did you bob the bed???
waht size tires?
did u get the dual crossmember too? or did u fab ur own back brace?
looks like you could use some new rings.
I live in Saudi Arabia. They've got TONS of old Hiluxes like this, but I'm guessing I'd have to get the mods back home in Miami. If the Hilux has a decent engine, what would I be looking to pay for the suspensions, tires and what not? I'm not a car junkie so I dunno what'd need replacing.
That thing is bad ass! But I'd say it smokes like a chimney..
Yeah, I replaced the engine since this video was taken. Doesn't smoke a bit now and runs on propane.
In this video did you move the axle forward any
The stock front hangar was on it here but the springs moved it forward a few inches. It was enough to keep the 36s out of the firewall. 39s was a different story
I cut out 12"
Is it a good truck 13 and I would like one in the future
Yeah, it's kind of sad they are getting so hard to find.
Wow do u still have the beast? I want one but they are priced really high
Yep, it's changed quite a bit but it's still alive. You're right, they've gotten really expensive. I paid $600 for a nearly perfect truck. It'd easily be a $6000 truck today if I hadn't smashed it all up.
@@alexw12345678 Can you do an update video
Ah Hell Buddy It's a Toyota those things will go another half a million miles like that.
try the next gear up.lol.
Almost didnt click on this because of its age, most videos on youtube from 6 years ago look like shit, and sound like shit. This has great quality for a 6 year old CZcams video.
Thanks, I think this was filmed with my Flip right before it died.
Alex Waugh It lived a good life. :p
sand yellow like mine but i vapor lock so i cant do that shit 84 hilux
I went to propane shortly after this, no more carb issues
Thanks
