      @alexw12345678 Před 8 lety

      +Cody Cammack Sure, I've had it a long time and it's gone through a ton of modifications and I still have a lot planned. Probably the easiest thing to do is read my pirate thread, www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-truck-4runner/578971-81-toyota-build.html The front axle is original 30 spline longfields, hub gears, arp hub and steering studs. 5.29's with a lockright and marlin hi steer and spacers to match the IFS rear. Rear axle is 5.29's with a lock right, IFS width. I swapped in a W56, used a modified 4xInnovations crossmember. I have a Marlin clocked adapter with Trail Gear 4.7's in the rear case and a Davez twin stick. The front driveshaft has a Trailgear long slip, the rear is custom. 22r with a pacesetter header and gotpropane conversion. The cage is 4xInnovations. Corbeau seats, ProArmor harnesses Grant wheel with a weld on disconnect. The fenders and floor have been cut out for the 39.5's. I have 5" Alcan springs, stock length. I have 14" Bilsteins in the front and the back. They're actually a little long. I'm using Ford shock towers. The rear shocks are mounted vertical through the bed. The truck was a longbed, about 6 years ago I bobbed 12" out of it, this last year I removed everything but the bedsides and did a 12" dovetail. I'd like to re-do the suspension, it's not very flexy but it is predictable and I'm used to it. I'd also like to do hydro assist. That's about it.

      Alex Waugh I think the cabs solid on one. The SR5 has some side impact. I know where one or two other round eyes are laying as well. Im doing 1st gen 4 runners now. Was in hope of building a 80-83 pickup but I dont see that happening anytime soon. Theyre all so scarce now days and its a good idea to have a couple laying around for parts.

    • @alexw12345678
      @alexw12345678 Před 10 lety

      Rick James The straight axle trucks are pretty strong. With dual cases, 5.29's and 39" tires I've broken nothing in the front end. I do have Longfield axle shafts. The stock birfield's can be weak, about the strength of a Dana 44. Still stronger than a Jeep axle.
