Thanks for the review! Not the best premium in my port, but I'm getting good results from Z39. Ship does feel sluggish even at speed, but that 5km hydro is nice!

Not easy to maneuver but yes very much a powerful vessel capable of sinking big ships with some Finesse with detectability.

Great review man, I use Spee with Thrwitt and Bey. The engine and rudder are super easy to take out on the KMS DDs. Don’t plan on getting this one, but I’m looking forward to the Exeter next week! Your review of her next Friday? Thanks for the top notch vid as always man!

So really no reason to get this ship. Already have the Maas and the T61 for a premium German DD and the 39 seems to have the same problem as the Le Terrible (which I also have) and as much as I do like the Terrible, it has the same fragile engine situation. Take a hit, engine knocked out, DCon, engine up, take a hit, engine out AGAIN. Had to swap out my Legendary perk to Unstoppable (losing an extra engine boost) because I got tired of that exact scenario, coasting to a stop while being blasted by everyone because I didnt have a smoke to disappear into. And Unstoppable is just a bandaid on a sucking chest wound.
I like my DD's but can't see the justification for this one.
The camo on this looks so similar to the permanent camo for the Gaede
Yep! Near as I can tell, identical.
With my R16L2 Bey with Jerzy and Sims its got a concealment of 4.9 with a HP of around 22k and my engine doesn't get knocked out as often as u said unless you give too much broadside and i use Leviathan. I always zigzag against other DDs so that they don't keep pounding on me. Maybe with Von Spee i can bring the concealment down to possibly 4.6 which is very good for a torp run so i might wake him up.
It seems like as long as you get hit by HE, you can lose your engine from pretty much any angle, but like I said, I could just be unlucky. I do get a lot of attention in games.

It is available only on preset 1 and 2. I use preset 2.
I really like the German DDs cause the hydro gets me some kills. But the lack of speed can be so detrimental sometimes. I had trouble running away from a Indianapolis yesterday in the T 61.
Z-39 is kinda good looking like a lot of KM ships although I'm not super fond of this camo. Any idea if it's a real camo?
Honestly, I'm not sure the Z-39 ever sported any camo. It certainly didn't have any in the photos I ran across. If that actual design was used, I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem like it would be effective at confusing identification, heading, or speed.

I think the Maass is, overall, probably a little easier to play, so it probably edges out the Z-39 a bit, but the Z-39's high fire chance, more devastating AP, and excellent sonar probably do help it quite a bit in the right hands.
My god a game where players did what their supposed to do. A rarity at the moment for destroyer players in particular at all tiers.
“36 knots is about as bad as you’ll get with a destroyer” meanwhile I have a maxed fubuki going 33.5 and 37.5 with the speed boost.... I’m assuming tier 6 just randomly decides to become considerably faster lol
They've added a couple of slow boys... most of them IJN (Yukikaze, Asashio, Shiratsuyu), though I have no idea how the base speed of your Fubuki is 33.5. I think the base speed is listed at 35 (plus it is tier V).

I think the Z-39 will gain higher popularity when carriers arrive due to the fact that one of its turrets has been replaced with an AA tower.
Yep! That's true. Same with the Kidd (though the Kidd will probably be even better in that department thanks to her dual purpose main battery).
@@tacticangel i really wonder how carriers will work. Like there gonna add new tech tree lines for nations, it will be a whole different class and were probably gonna get two new kinds of historical commanders: Carrier commanders and maybe commanders that will enhance our AA defense. Would love to hear your thoughts about thr topic of carriers.
The Z-39 is now my favorite ship on the game by far. I use it almost exclusively as a hunter killer of other DDs.
With Bey as a captain and Burke and Scharnhorst as inspiration you're guns are pretty much laser like. Sure most destroyers will outpace you in rounds a minute, but how often do all of a destroyers guns connect in a duel?
Running Burke and Scharnhkrst all of my cruiser like guns hit and I have enough health for it to be whittled down a bit. You'll also be really consistent in knocking out enemy DDs modules and setting fire to them.
Once the destroyers are gone you can have a pretty laid back game and use your torpedoes leisurely and taking most caps uncontested without to much fear of being spotted.
The Maass is better than this ship
The Mass doesn't net you 400-600k+ a game.
Vincent The Keeper premium ship benefits but the masss is an awesome destroyer

I’ve found that widespread torps are very effective at close range against enemy destroyers
