    Knew Jim would love this match. Everyone says Jim hates new smaller guys. But he’s always been a fan of guys like punk, Bryan, Adam Cole and now Bate. Jim’s simply a fan of truly great wrestling.

      Lost in all the "Jim Cornette" hates stuff is that Cornette wants it to come off as real. He doesn't give a shit how big or small you are. Make him believe you are in a fight and not a dance routine. Not a lot to ask of a professional wrestler. It is a lot to as of a gymnast.

      cheekclappa69 hold this L, punk was one of the best on earth before wwe and was great in wwe, remember before NXT he had the last 5 star match (even though Meltzer is just opinion based) with Cena and we all know punk contributes more wrestling to the match then cena

      I kinda hate how vitriolic Jim gets when he shits on matches nowadays, but I love hearing him praise matches because he points out so many positives that are accentuated by his deep knowledge of wrestling. Hearing him break down what went right is a lot more fun to me than him just shitting all over stuff. It's like when he first reviewed The Revival's matches in NXT with American Alpha and such. His legit joy is infectious. I wish he could find more wrestling he enjoyed talking about. A shame he doesn't seem to be able to get into New Japan, because so much of the recent G1 would be great to hear Corny react to. How could he not love Tomohiro Ishii?!

Now, I do love the Bucks, but their last few matches, are all full speed, they had much better matches with The Briscoes, Addiction, Hardys, the matches had more than 1 pace.

    Tyler Bate reminds me of a young Bob Backlund. Now, I’m a youngin, born in 98, so I haven’t watched a lot of 70s wrestling, but I have watched some Backlund stuff. They are both smaller guys with the heart of a lion and the strength of an ox. Who can take to the big guys in an underdog role. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about this

  • @BlackWind90
    @BlackWind90 Před 4 lety +3

    On this one he's right. The fact is matches like this you don't actually see much in the rest of WWE, not in the main roster nor in "Normal" NXT. Gargano vs Cole, to make an example, are 200 miles per hour matches as much as AEW matches are. AEW needs to do things like this, and they went pretty close with that Cody/Dustin match. Selling the damage done, the fatigue, injured body part and having the difference in the athletic condition of the two wrestlers involved or their size should be key....I know for a fact Kenny can do things like that....I think of his second match with Okada which is probably still the best of the bunch just for the way they sold being tired in the last 15 minutes of that 60 minutes draw, with them spending a lot of time down on the ground, doing moves with much less impact, avoiding moves accidently by collapsing....little things like that that give you that sense of watching more of a simulated real fight than a coreographed performance is what make people get more invested in a match. This wrestling still works today, the various companies just need to bring it back, other things Cornette bitches about can't and shouldn't be change, but this style of in-ring wrestling works and everybody should learn something from this NXT UK masterpiece. Also, Tyler Bate is a one very underrated pro-wrestler.
