I actually love with Jim talks about modern wrestling. I don't mind his negativity. He's passionate about it and that goes a long way.
Distane 83 not when it's always "oh Ricky and Bobby blah blah midnight Express blah blah" he can't say modern wrestling is good cuz it kills his gimmick. When I'd rather watch omega vs Okada a million more times then Stan lanes fake as fuck looking karate bs he used.

The reason Almas beat Johnny semi clean was so Johnny could move on to Ciampa and so Almas could move on to Aleister Black.
and give Almas a little more credibility, he wasn't exactly built up real good before winning it kind of got it just because Drew got injured.
Gargano and this anothers wrestlers are not good like Andrade
It’s weird when I re-listen to this, he praises Gargano in this match and now he goes into burying him on NXT.

I agree with Jim about Gargano main eventing WrestleMania. He needs to work on his aggressiveness and his verbal effort if he wants to achieve that goal. I wouldn't say it would never happen but right now, Gargano is nowhere near that.

How important are facial expressions to something like a luchador
Obviously you can emote with the eyes and mouth, but how much really should be expected.
Is it part of that same tradition to teach facial expressions?

The thing about lucha is it relies more heavily on physical expression than facial expression. Only very few luchadors like rey mysterio can sell emotion at a high level even with a mask. Another reason why the style is so different is the rings in Mexico. Mexican rings tend to be way stiffer, so it's generally less physically damaging to dive out of the ring and be caught than take too many bumps.
Love to here a different take there so much more to a match more then Moves

Im appalled that lucha libre mexican wrestling is never mentioned whenever ppl speak about great wrestling. We literally got eddie guerrero,rey mysterio,mil mascaras, lita trained in mexico b4 going to wwe, andrade cien almas, modern day new sincara,kalisto alberto del rio for example. Sure you have to know spanish since that racist canadian vampiro on commentary will sabotage anything that has to do with mexicos wrestling and matt striker is just horrible on commentary. The spanish commentary is on point tho, no1 can match jr but the spanish team on cmll is pretty damn good in putting their emotions into the commentary like jr did when going "by gawd lawler we got ourselves an old fashion brawl ,hes getting beat worse than a government mule😱"
Nobody likes lucha because it doesn't make any sense. American wrestling is characters and stories, japanese wrestling is hard hitting with big bumps, european wrestling is a lot of technical matwork, everyone brought something good to the table. Lucha......they had midgets and masks and guys dressed as women, doing weird silly arm drags and flippy shit, and their matches don't have any rhyme or reason or semblance of reality involved in the work.
I was listening to Stone Cold interview Ricochet and he asked him about the psychology of working a lucha style match and he basically was like "Uh.....yeah, that's hard. Like, I don't even know." And this is a dude who works those kinds of matches regularly. If he can't tell me the concept behind it, who the hell can?

@@btmz1753 Mexican entertainment in any medium isn't exactly the creme de la creme. And old doesn't mean good. RAW might be the longest running episodic television show on the air, that has no bearing on the quality of the program.
pearcemark2 that’s debatable, Mexican music is at the top of the charts. AAA and CMLL have been killing it for years. CMLL sells out arena Mexico weekly. I wouldn’t say American entertainment is the best out there....

And the goal of any entertainer worth a damn is to make it big in america and play arenas in Vegas, LA, New York, Chicago, etc. Actors want to work in Hollywood. Boxers want to fight at Madison Square Garden. If you're known in america, you're known all over the planet. Nobody who's successful in america is going "Yeah, I just sold out the Staples Center, but I'm still trying to reach my big goal: do a show in Caracas!"
Any spanish language programming in america is going to garner success because that's the de facto second language. If you live in america and for some reason don't know english, there's an extremely high probability that your primary language is spanish, and if you do know english, the most useful second language to learn would be spanish. It's a numbers game. That's like if for some strange reason there was a gigantic pocket of Scottish people living in Vietnam. Of course your top programs would be whatever the Scottish programming is, because that's ALL that huge pocket of people would consume. Again, it speaks nothing of the actual quality.
You don't look at a 105 year old woman and go "Man she's been fucking for 85 years. She's gonna fuck me better than that hot 19 year old!". Amount of time something's been around doesn't indicate quality, negro.

It’s a very good match. Not 5 star but definitely at least 4.5.
His first 2 matches with Ciampa (Especially the first one 6 stars in my opinion. Wink wink Uncle Dave you mutt) are easy 5 star matches.
Normally I agree with Jim but Daniel Bryan was able to main event mania and I can see someone like Balor main eventing so I can somewhat see it. Even someone like Jericho he's not huge but he's main evented before
el goat well gargano might still be missing that one little bit that can put him in that Daniel Bryan category. (especially going into the main roster)

Lesnar actually had his best matches in recent years against small guys, Styles, Bryan, Balor, Mysterio, Ricochet, i can totally see him against Gargano having a great match in the main event of a ppv
