which - to me - makes it better, at least in that regard. What is worse than having to listen to a couple of guys that look like you could beat up? The smarmy rich kids who are your boss. That role is perfect for the Bucks. Rock is great in his roll as well, but it's not really the same, here he is a Hollywood "executive" type. It's a small difference, but one that I think matters.

The rock is literally getting fans who haven’t watched in 25 years to tune in. The EVP’s are getting laughed at and the majority of people are saying who?
The difference is that The Rock acts like a maniac corrupted by power. The Bucks are acting like what they think corrupt bosses would be like. With their CZcams show and how they have been acting the past few years, everything they do stink of “meta” and “wink wink insider”. That’s why they can’t be taken seriously even if you want to. Also compare how Rocky looks to them, it’s easy to understand why one is working and the other is seen as a caricature.
I was just coming to say this: everything the Bucks do reeks of being tongue in cheek and having to tell us “hey we’re playing the part”. They don’t come off as if they’re taking anything they do seriously. Whereas The Rock, you can feel it that he’s taking everything seriously, that there’s delicate care taken to craft his role and what he does.
That is their problem. Its always a parody. And the worst thing is they are not good at it
@@Superman5000The with The Rock, you can tell that he’s into his character. That’s why he posts 20 minute promos on Instagram when he doesn’t have to. With the Bucks, it feels like they’re fooling around. Even with Okada, whenever they do promos, it feels like it’s all a big joke.
The difference really is the rock is a good actor who knows his role. The bucks are bad actors cos playing.

When The Rock says things, you believe it even if you know it's kayfabe. "The Rock is your boss!" The Bucks are doing this as an overacted "joke". MAYBE if they acted like this against Punk, it could've worked because at least Punk would sell it better than whoever they're feuding with.

You have to add in that they stole the "Summer of Punk" storyline too with AJ Styles where AJ Styles took the TNA title to NJPW like how Punk said he was taking the WWE title to NJPW.
Bucks are so good at being heels they make me not watch the show or buy merch or attend shows. They’re incredible!
The difference is Presentation.
One has been taken seriously and is being used to help push 2 nights of their top wrestling show that is working.
The other is just a bunch of manchildren being unable to let go of Punk.
It's actually pretty meta. Rock has way more power and money then Bucks so his influence actually looks convincing.
It's a direct reflection of the companies.
When Okada was like "SING IT!!" for Balding Buck's Birthday song while Officer Bar Brady was interviewing them, it felt so hollow and fake/phony AF

The Rock has just dropped in for a couple of months, to boost WrestleMania and make Cody the biggest babyface they can make him. He was NEVER going to do a main event single world title match. He said this last year, when he said he wasn’t going to come back just for one big match, he was going to tell a story and give fans an experience like we’ve never had before.

AEW is in trouble. They debut ospreay, okada, and Mercedes in consecutive weeks and get the worst 3 week ratings they’ve ever had.
There are also reports the AEW roster is pissed off at Mercedes because of her "I will be back in the WWE" comments. It too her 2 days to piss off the roster. Her meltdown will be legendary.

The EVP Bucks are cartoons. They aren't serious. They actually are the EVPs and they aren't even believable.
They’re not qualified. Even if they could prove they understand the business and draw some crowds they’d be somewhat believable. But to them it’s just a big meta joke and imo they don’t even like wrestling. It was just something to do.

If it's true that The Rock has to go back to Hollywood in May to August to film a movie I could see the Nick Khan angle as a way to write him off TV until he can come back to feud with Roman.

The difference is even though The Rock and the Young Bucks are actually exexutives/board member, it's actually believable for The Rock to be an executive for a big wrestling promotion. The Young Bucks being executives even for an indie wrestlong promotion is still laughable.
To reference Jay-Z in The Takeover when it comes to WWE imitating AEW: "You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song"
And the thing that makes this even more hilarious? The Bucks have to get entirely brand new music themes to reflect their corporate douchebaggery.

I've been saying since nearly day one that AEW needs some kind of manager or on air commissioner to at least give AEW some mild appearance of professionalism, but instead you got the Young Bucks, and scared for his life Tony Khan out there wanting to give everybody a hug making the company look like even more of a joke.
I just love the fact that Tony not only waited to let every single last ember of heat cool down before doing this angle, he pissed on the ashes. If they had done this after brawl out the heat would have already existed and even if it was bad they’d have gone nuclear. Instead they wait and wait and wait and wait then wait some more, then kinda randomly decided to do this bit. It’s weird. And people really wanted Tony to win booker of the year.
The Kookamunga kids only real rival is ratings.

I’ve never sat and watched the Bucks for any extended amount of time but from the very little experience I have watching them, they’re so boring and unbearable. I can see why very few people care to watch them

If the EVP angle was ever going to be remotely successful, it needed to be done when Punk was there. Too little too late. On top of it, it looks amateurish.
