Paul Heyman deserves the HOF. He has done so much for the business. He is a fantastic manager.
Well, he definitely eats burgers like The Hoff. But is that enough?
yeah revolutionary how he paid himself and none of his wrestlers
@@SweetheartQuestoh no a promoter screwed his wrestlers 😂
Not as much as the bellas and Torrie Wilson did though
@@Michael-cz6ob
At least his clayface wasn't spider-webbed by McMahon ... as far as we know.
Paul Heyman is one of the greatest managers and wrestling personalities of all time. It’s perfect that he is being inducted in Philadelphia. Also, Jim Cornette should also be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and it should have been done years ago.
Being from Philly and getting to see ECW live as a teenager. Live and on TV. Paul really put on a great show. It's was insanity for a teenager like myself. Love all his manager work in WWE. I still remember seeing ECW on a public access channel ...channel 48 on Comcast.
Jim said he has no interest to sign a legends deal for it.
Yes to Jim, but Heyman should keep commenting on Rollerball.
Cornette’s already in The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame anyway. He was inducted in 2012.
Cornette's contributions are important enough that WWE should induct him without requiring a Legends contract. Pay him for the appearance, give him great accommodations, and see if you can get him to do another Table for 3 with Heyman involved.
Love him or hate him, the man has made an impact in the business .
This is overdue
Who hates Heyman?
Who hates Heyman in 2024? I’m sure there are quite a few Wrestler’s that may hate him because of the past but which fan actually hates Heyman?😊
Certainly on every chair he sits on and the chair legs
therefore bend in all directions.
Probably all the wrestlers he ripped off for a start.. @@brooklynnomad
2:30 "No brainer? Shibata!"
LOL, Brian's enjoying this bit
😂😂😂
ECW had the cinematography that was a step above public access, but a step below a major production. It was the porno mag you wanted to share, but didn't want everyone to know.
So basically like AEW
@@fredcasdensworldnah, ECW had the "grunge" factor where the jankiness and the gritty presentation actually added to the aura. AEW's jankiness subtracts from the presentation.
@@fredcasdensworld AEW is more like the furry porn people are ashamed to share
@@weirdfan88 LMAO you win the internet
@@imneveruploadinghere7180That was also our TVs back then too😂 jk
I would seriously love to hear Heyman on the pod talking to jim and brian
The Experience was much better when Jim did interviews with guests instead of all these reviews
His interview with Shultz turned me onto the doctor and restarted my wrasslin binge.@@gothard5
I don't think you would. I don't think Paul would either. Love Paul, one of the greatest managers ever, great talker, ECW was super important. But he's going to lie about things and Jim wouldn't hesitate to call him on it.
@@djsognalI don't know, sounds like a fun time to me
@@gothard5
Weren’t those the days?
I'm sure Tommy Dreamer will be there... up in the rafters..
I heard they called him to induct Paul but quicky changed there mind when he agreed to take a shot at it
Paul Heyman could’ve convinced General Pickett to lead another charge at Gettysburg
I love historical jokes! And it relates since Gettysburg is in PA
And to do it for free!
One of the greatest managers in the history of the business. Absolutely well deserved. This is the man who made ecw feel like a top tier promotion despite not having the money. Imagine if he was in charge of WCW back in 1999-2000. He could have easily saved the company from going out of business.
WCW didn't go out of business it was sold, huge difference. ECW went out of business
Better than Russo for sure
@@fredcasdensworld WCW was pretty much going out of business man
Wrong. Billionaire Ted's TV station didn't want a wrestling show on their network. So they sold it. Vince bought it and closed it out of spite.
@@michaelpatterson7568 he didn't close it out of spite. If you remember, he put booker t vs buff bagwell match on raw and changed the arena looks to WCW as well as the commentators. The fans hated the match and didn't care about WCW at all.
Two of the greatest talkers in the history of the business. I'd love to hear them call a PPV together but I'm sure nobody would be paying attention to the wrestlers.
never gets old, "I love Paul", "he looks like shit, though"
Jim is a true friend to Paul lol
Ecw was ground breaking influencial and affected wwf/wwe and wcw and is the most fanatic nostalgic thing of the last 40 years .
40 years in wrestling**
I'm glad Brian finally called out the fact that Jim's "40 years ago" is a floating timeline.
He does hold him accountable at times. Jim's age reveals itself regularly lol.
To be fair when people think 20 years ago they're still thinking about the 80s.
Lmao 40 years ago makes you guys mad? Lmao
@@PystolPete103 It doesn't make me mad, I just find it funny that Jim's 40 years apparently encompasses a 20 year timespan.
Good ol' Corny went over three minutes without putting someone down. Gotta respect the restraint shown!
because its paul heyman, theres nothing cant say bad about that man who already been in the business for more than 40 years and been instrumental for the guys like taker, austin, ecw, brock, cm punk, and now roman. he is also a behind the scene guy for smackdown and wwe in general
Jim has stated on more than one occasion that even though him and Paul don't always agree on everything he has nothing but respect for Paul unlike others who shall remain nameless.
@@jasonr.3173like Shitstain?
The ‘E C Dub’ chant will be INSANE. Can’t wait
I don't care if he wants it or not. PUT JIM IN. Congrats Paul.
One of the greatest wrestling minds, managers and promoters of all time. Congratulations, Paul. The fact they're doing it in Philadelphia, ECW country, is perfect.
Apparently he's been offered a few times over the years to go in but always turned it down but it's nice to see Paul finally going in especially in Philadelphia where he will get a great reception. Because like him or not Paul has had a hall of fame career and then some
3 Great Managers

Love the drive thru. Hoping for this weather to pass you both by and for a episode post tonight! Thank you!
The Shibata "no brain" jokes always get me 😂
Heyman to me is the best manager of all time. His work with The Bloodline is what made him(to me) the GOAT of managers.
1.Bobby Heenan..2.Paul Bearer 3. Jim Cornette 4.Paul Heyman
@@JohnNeumeister-xn3vm thanks for telling me your opinion, but mine still stands. The only one whom I can accept is better than Paul here would Heenan. Others? He surpassed them LONG ago.
It’s a legendary career. He’s the guy that watches something, thinks about what the audience is missing out on, and then creates it. Smackdown, ECW, commentating, and even aspects of his managing are all centered on doing the opposite of the norm. The business needs people like that.
Let's hope that WWE uses Travis's picture of Paul Heyman as a big, flesh colored walrus at his induction. Funniest fucking picture of all time.
Anyone rememener watching ECW in Philly on Channel 48 late at night? Got tonsee ECW live as well...they came to two places.in my neighborbood, a hockey/ice rink near Franklin Mills Mall and The Southampton Armory.
Would love for Jim to put him in
Paul Heyman is definitely HOF worthy. Congrats Paul!
He has done so much in wrestling but my favorite moment will always be him clocking Jason Hervey with the old school cell phone. If you watched the Wonder Years and couldn’t stand Wayne Arnold then it was an awesome moment! 😂
J.R. Vs Heyman on the announcers desk was so comical and amazing to watch. You had to be there.
I wish Bobby Heenan was still around. I rewatched some WCW from 1991 and Heyman on commentary oozed of Bobby Heenan influence. What an honor Im sure that would have been to have Heenan give a speech & induct Mr. Heyman.
At least we have the video from Bobby introducing Jim to the WWE audience!
Talk about bequeathing heat onto another manager!
Undertaker he was a Heyman guy in WCW
So was Steve Austin.
Roidaltaker back then.
It will be rvd I think
ECW was a big part of my youth...tape trading from the UK, looking over match ratings to decide on what to get...then Blackstar video FINALLY releasing official UK ECW tapes with Living Dangerously and Guily As Charged.
Man those were some good times and great shows.
Paul Heyman's Dangerous Alliance wcw days were memorable.
This made me picture Heyman as Swackhammer(never knew this was his name, but the Danny DeVito's Space Jam character.)
totally agree - Paul definitely deserves a spot in the hall... even for just his managerial/backstage work he's done in the last decade. then when you add ECW, the fact that he started as a photographer and now he's on TV and every PPV as "The wise man", the special counsel to the longest reigning champion of modern era.
The kid in me in the late 80s and early 90s had NO idea what Paul E. Dangerously would become.
Crazy...
Yes this is what I’ve been waiting for.
The ecw chant is gonna be goosebumps.
*Thunderbolt Patterson is in now too.*
*_IF YOU MOVE._*
not bad for a guy who started his career doing an 80's Micheal Keaton impersonation gimmick.
Now he looks more like Danny Devito's Penguin.
Heyman is a living legend
His career on screen is three fold
As WCW Paul E Dangerously
Then as the brainchild of ECW
Then as the advocate/Wiseman in WWE
And yet all of that is still secondary to his influence behind the scenes
Plus he's one of the best talkers in the business EVER
Ryback should induct him..............................what?
I will never forget the time Paul kissed him on Raw
feed me please!?
Paul comes out for his induction and it's just Ryback, AJ styles and Tommy dreamer waiting for him with baseball bats😂
@theboxingboy7422
"Don't worry folks! He'll get the help he needs."
I have a feeling it'll be tommy dreamer or the Dudley's who will induce him considering those were his closest guys from ecw
Heyman and jimmy Hart are the 2 greatest living managers
And Cornette
He should be in the 'Outstanding debt' H.O.F....The amount of wrestlers who said he owes them unpaid checks is off the charts.
Paul Heyman, the Donald Trump of wrestling
Heyman absolutely deserves this and it’s about time he went into the HOF but we also want to see Cornette going into the HOF as well
Paul E. Dangerously
James E. Cornette
Chuck E. Cheese
The will of E
Wile E. Coyote
Wile E. Coyote?
Alfred E. Neuman
Even though I'm not a fan of putting guys in the HOF while they're still working but obviously if someone should be an exception its Heyman especially since he's not a wrestler. No matter what your opinion is of the man you can't reasonably deny his impact on the business good or bad. His ability to communicate is second to none in the entertainment world. His facial expressions & ability to communicate without saying a word has become masterful. He will be sorely missed like few before when he decides to step away or checks out of this world whatever comes first
I hope the hall is big enough for Paul to fit.
An appearance like the Blob.
3:05 Paul should go to DDP Yoga, that would be a dope journey for him in the company of friends
heyman is a genius he definitely deserves this 1000%
I could see Dreamer, RVD, or Foley inducting him.
The guy who makes the most sense to induct Heyman imo is Mick Foley. An eloquent authentic ECW guy.
Every time JC makes a backhanded insult disguised within a compliment I’m going to drink. Do I have enough alcohol? lol
When is Jim going to the HOF?
Maybe now he can pay all the wrestlers he stiffed.
Jim had to induct Heyman. The perfect guy to do so. The subtle jabbing and selling Heyman strong points for the HOF. Also sow the seed of potential Punk with Jim vs. Roman with Heyman
You had me going, nice work
I dont think anyone has held a title for longer than Paul Heyman
Needed to be done as twas in Philly
There is no comparing SMW with ECW.
ECW changed american wrestling forever, and remains one of the most influential wrestling companies of all time. SMW was a throwback thing, ok for what it was but if it wasn't for Cornette talking about it, nobody would even remember it.
Not everything is about how much money was made.
Yeah, ECW brought to us the shit that wrestling is today.
A goddamn shame because it used to be fun.
Fully deserved and overdue.
Im kinda impressed with jim being so magnanimous about this!
Can we have an omnibus of Jim's digs at Heyman's weight please?
They always crack me up.
Hearing jim mark his flowers for Paul heyman is a thing of beauty
The sheer respect on a level us outside and most within the business could ever understand
Jim jokes and ribs Paul at every opportunity cos he loves the guy
At the WWE HoF:
Cell Phone v. Tennis Racket in a Texas Death Match.
Personally, I think Paul’s real genius shown in the Smackdown 6 era from 02-05. His ECW stuff was cool for the time but too over the top. From 02-05 smackdown was absolute must watch.
Heyman should absolutely come out and do his speech in the leather trench coat and ECW cap, lol. Not that the current version of Heyman isn't great, but 'ole trench coat Paul E. is the one I grew up with.
I think it’s long overdue.
Jerry Lawler could be the one to induct Paul Heyman. The lights could go out and they come back on to Jerry in the ring going on about bingo halls before he brings out Paul Heyman 😁
Either that or CM Punk since he's Paul Herman's most successful client in terms of Paul Heyman Guys and has technically been with Heyman since the dying days of WWECW
Punk is a Paul Heyman isn’t he?
Paul is perhaps the Jake The Snake Roberts of managers/booking.
Paul Heyman is the best thing about modern WWE
Paul is easilly in the top 5 managers of all time. I got him behind the Brain but beyond that hes in elite company.
The only bump I can recall Paul taking is the F-5. He's been F-5'd a few times (and took it quite well).
I seem to remember Paul taking an F5 through a table, less than two years ago.
Congrats to Paul Heyman. Wonder when Jim Johnston gets inducted? The man behind many a wrestler’s theme? Surely he’s due an induction too?
Heyman took an F5 through the announce table at SummerSlam 2022
I think it should be jim because they are the two last managers we will probably ever see of their ilk... the business just doesnt let managers thrive , unless they put themselves over like Callis... If not, maybe CM Punk
He's probably the second best manager personality behind Bobby Heenan, one of the greatest bookers of all time AND one of the greatest writers of all time. How many rings are they going to give him?
Is there any wrestling HOF or some kind of recognition for your monumental work that you would be honored to be in?
ECW was a pro wrestling landscape changer. It influenced the entire industry. WWE used the ECW brand after Vince purchased it. Video games. PPVs. ECW was one of Heyman's crown accomplishments.
The ECW had an impact on the WWF of the day. I'd say it influenced the WWF to do things like the TLC matches. And Team Extreme and Edge & Christian arguably had more impact on the future direction of the industry than The Rock and Stone Cold did. Add in his work with Brock Lesnar (we didn't know the creepy stuff back then) and The Bloodline ... I think, for my money, Heyman is about as influential as you can get without owning a promotion.
Long overdue
Reminder that Heyman is only a year younger than Stone Cold Steve Austin.
i’m sure they’re going to further the bloodline angle with his induction speech
Kayfabe alive baby
They're going to need a bigger door for Paul E to get through.
Don’t worry. The Rock will just tell Heyman to turn himself sideways.
@@wilcee238 Well played, sir
And lots of butter.
I think that Heyman should be inducted by an ECW original. Like Rob Van Dam.
Jim being Jim. From one Jim to another, you should be in some kind of wrestling HOF.
I know he is in hot water right now, but the reality is that the best person to induct him would be Brock Lesner
Lesnar was a willing participant allegedly to Vince's whole sex scandal deal, he is only guilty of saying 'okay, sure' when offered free pootie.
I don't think he'll get heat for inducting Paul Heyman especially if he admits to being a weak man in the moment of temptation prior to the HoF
It should be Dreamer but I wish it was New Jack
Top 5 manager of all time, no question.
He's managed more World Champions for longer than any Manager ever, including Heenan.
A strong case can be made that he is #1 now.
Jim Cornette for WWE hall of fame
Who introduces him though? ECW alumni? Bloodline? CM Punk? Brock Lesner? Dangerous Alliance alumni?
Paul Heyman made me want to be a wrestling personality. So much so that I went to train with Afa the wild Samoan. He deserves the recognition for his impact
With Vince being more or less out of the picture, does that change anything about the Hall of Fame, given that up until now it was primarily based on his opinion?
Who should put him to HOF ...have 4 people to choose Joey Styles Punk Dreamer Brock
I disagree bull nakano does deserve to be in the wwe hall of fame or any wrestling hall of fame
That’s racist 😂 💀🫵 what a AEW MARK
I always believed that the reason why WWE inducts active wrestlers into the HOF is because no one truly knows when a wrestler "retires". I think they (WWE) just waits for said wrestler to get past a certain age because they don't want to wait around forever which makes all the sense in the world to me.
And with the sudden passing of Bray at 36. They want active wrestler to go in so they can see their own induction. Hopefully we can get more of wrestler getting to see their induction before they pass
I wonder if Paul listens to Corny's podcast? Whether it's entire episodes or just these snippets that mention specific questions and stories, and whether he's curious or actually interested in what Jim has to say? Cuz I'm sure Paul would kayfabe any question anyone would ever ask him about Jim. Like, would he still have heat over Jim? Jim seems to have let all his past rivalries go (excluding his newer "elite" ones, lol), and I couldn't imagine why Paul wouldn't have let go, either.
It could be Roman Reigns that inducts him, he's been managing him along time now and they've main vented several WrestleMania's together. If it was going to be somebody in the past, I'd guess Tommy Dreamer. Or it could be someone totally out of the park that he has a close relationship with behind the scenes that we don't know about.
Cornette will hopefully go in sooner rather than later too though I get why there’s people held back, they need names for the future but Corny definitely deserves it
