    On Brian lauding Bret’s candour:
A lot of people seem to forget that Bret has had his fair share of strokes, which - in part - can cause him to come across somewhat more emotional, more blunt than he otherwise might be on occasion.
Some people interpret that bluntness as “Bret is always whining” or “Bret is just bitter”.
Other people see it in a more positive light, like he’s a real straight-shooter and isn’t afraid to speak the truth.
For the most part, I think given everything he’s been through, he’s about as “good” a man as you could hope to find in the wrestling business from his era. But let’s not forget that his post-stroke demeanour is to some degree outside of his control.

I think, despite all of the issues I ever had with Vince, I know, deep down, I always respected him; but now, knowing what kind of a weirdo he became, I have absolutely zero respect for him. I do not think I could ever shake his hand if he extended it. Too creepy.” - Bret Hart

I never had respect for him in the sense that he was a Boomer Yuppie who destroyed the territories using unethical practices for big $.... Also for allowing Shawn Michaels to be a complete prick for years w/ zero consequences.
