I wonder how Punk feels knowing Slim Jim is the reason why Vince was tossed out of his own company? In 2011, Slim Jim wanted to launch a major ad campaign with CM Punk as the star as a throw back to the success of their Macho Man ads. Vince tried to get them to use someone else until Slim Jim realized they weren’t going to get what they wanted and said, “Never mind” and squashed the whole thing.

It's a money thing, exactly like Cornette said "if you don't leave we're all going to be up shit creek"
I firmly believe this was the plan all along, Vince only came back to settle up the transfer of the company to TKO and I don't think he ever intended or expected to stay.

The way Endeavor touted Vince out there on TV to promote the merger always felt like they truly thought Vince was still indispensable. That was a major red flag because it tells me Endeavor has absolutely no pulse on the wrestling business over the past ~5 years

It wouldn't surprise me because Endeavor is from Hollywood and while movie and tv studios moved away from those that is starting to come back given everything happening there. So Endeavor could have slipped something like that in their new deal.
They put them into the contracts of ppl who have had issues in their personal life. Believe RDJ had one in his contract when he was on Ally mcbeal which is how they were able to removed him from the show when he was arrested yrs ago.
