Product Review - Sizzix Big Shot Plus

Please join me for a quick look at the new Sizzix Big Shot Plus. It is a longer, wider version of our favorite Big Shot, and is such a pleasure to work with. It can handle full 8-1/2 x 11" sheets of cardstock, so you can cut a lot of dies at the same time and make more efficient use of your paper.

Hi, what cardstock, brand and weight are the best to use with the embossing folders for this machine?

+Casey Nelson You can use a variety of types and weights of cardstock and paper, depending on what you are trying to create. Heavier cardstock will emboss nicely, although sometimes you may have to adjust the sandwich a little. Likewise, lighter cardstocks, vellum and papers will emboss nicely, but you may have to add a shim to get a nice emboss. Be careful that your sandwich isn't too tight with the lighter-weight materials, though -- the embossing folder may cut through in some places. Experiment with a variety of materials for embossing. Be sensitive when the materials are too thick to go through the machine properly, and adjust the sandwich if needed. If you haven't achieved a good deep emboss, try adding a shim or two to get a better result.
