Great tutorial ... you gave me soooo much more confidence to try this pattern. THANKS!
This is a beautiful little Wallet so cute
Great video. Wallet patterns can seem so intimidating so the video definitely helped. Loving your channel. Watching bag making videos has become my ASMR.
And mine!
Thank you for the great video. I have been procrastinating making this wallet.
What a real beauty, love, love I think I need more practice before I attempt to make this beautiful piece.
Thank you Kassiah for making this video. I’ve had this pattern for a while but have not made it. Now I am inspired. Love all your tutorials.
You are so welcome!
Gorgeous wallet! Thank you for the tutorial, I will follow along with you when I am ready to make it! 😊👍❤️
You’re welcome 😊
I just found your channel, love it,thank you for sharing your talents, not all videos are as easy to understand as yours
Marcia Lambert oh thank you so much, I’m glad the video was so helpful!😁
Well done on this video. Fantastic to see you getting more comfortable on video. And well done on just over a thousand subscribers in a month!
Kerrylee Kathy thank you so much!! ☺️
Thank you so much. This will make making this so much easier.
You can make yourself a helper for the card slots ironing part using the measurements making lines on a 6 inch wide long piece of manilla folder and fold them up so you can just slip the fabric in between the cardboard folds and iron it all in one go and just slip it carefully out and continue sewing it up... lol i did it tonight and it worked great and you can keep it for next time.... Lindy xo
You are amazing. Thank you for sharing
Just ordered this pattern too...you honestly make things seem achievable and can I just say how pretty your hair looks here. Lol I know bit off topic. You are my favourite bag or wallet teacher without a doubt thank you for all your work and tips...Lindy x
Ha ha thank you so much! I like to change my hair alot, but I am loving where its at right now! Thank you for the kind words, it means alot.
What a BEAUTIFUL wallet! 💖. Soooo many GREAT tips, Lady K...thanks for explaining how to avoid making the same mistakes you had. That is very helpful...as is having the correct tools for the job. (Ordering my KAM snaps today). I’m telling all my sewing buddies to come subscribe to your channel!
Rett L. Oh wow Thank you so much!
You do great tutorials!❤
Hi Siah, I finished making my first Marilyn wallet tonight...so pleased with it. I have to admit you were there on my iPad on and off pause the whole time lol mine is cognac vinyl and I added the accent fabric as a middle for the flap but I angled the sides instead of using a straight up and down piece..also used a large magnet clasp and added a coordinating button where the turnluck would be on the front of the flap. Definitely will make again! ... Lindy
Oh wow great job!!! So glad I could help along the way 😂
Love what you do 💕
Beautiful
😃😃looks great ✂️✂️
Es preciosa!!! Gracias..👌😊🌼
Beautiful wallet!
Thank you!
Love this wallet and great video! Is the mint green you used a vinyl also like the pink?
Can you tell me which brand heat press you use. This video was so helpful. Have all my stuff cut out now and ready to go and zippers prepped. Love that you are using Decovil. an amazing product.
I have a customer who likes the Marilyn wallet, but she would like a crossbody strap. Where would you put the strap connectors? Along the side or at the top where the zipper is?
I would do it along the side toward the top edge
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful wallet. Wish I could get a pattern.
Evelyn Rope the link is in the description below the video to purchase the pattern.
I can not find the die set or the attachment for my press
A couple small suggestions: press All seams(makes it look more professionally made) use a kitchen pot scraper to flatten seams if not ironing them. Same thing before topstitching makes for an even flatter edge.
Mention: Using the clips instead of clips instead of pins also makes the edges line up easier and the pins make holes in vinyl. If your vinyl doesn't move thru easily make longer stitches. Also the longer stitches will stop vinyl seams from ripping out. Too close of stitches will make it rip out.
You can also grade the seam edges to make them thinner.
CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH TO OPEN THE ZIPPER when she says to!!!
Use a chopstick to poke out the corners but don't poke Too hard to RIP the corners open!
I see I repeated about using the clips instead of the straight pins...sorry.
One more suggestion: When trying to go over thick seams on anything try putting a piece of thicker cardboard (etc.) BEHIND and under the pressure foot to even up the seam so they will glide over them easier. (This way the feed dogs can push the fabrics thru easier also.)
***just Some of your words do not print the right word when reading and listening to the video which might confuse beginner sewers...I am Not complaining!!
Nice video❣ Really enjoyed it.😀
Love your videos....I purchased the pattern thru your link...you said 1/4 inch seam allow....the pattern says 3/8 inch allow..? Also how would a magnetic snap work instead of the cam snaps? Thanks Barb
Thank you so much for this video! It was so very helpful and you are extremely easy to follow
Could you tell me where you got the adapters for the press?
You can get the adapters for the press from doodabug.com
I learned today I can't cut a straight line, I dont like 3/8 seam allowance, and appeared adhered interfacing is deceiving. 😡🤣🤦🏽♀️. But I did learn to do a magnetic snap. Do you like your cut and press? I want to do a NCW. Not sure if my domestic can handle it. It worked fine with canvas today though. Beautiful wallet.
Beautiful wallet and fantastic tutorial! You make it look so easy. I was wondering if there was a way that you could add a wristlet strap to it.
Yep just add it to the side before sewing up!
@@SiahSwag Thank you.
Hi Kassiah- Where did you get the small cutting mats for the round press plates to cut out holes for the purse locks? Thanks!
I got them when I ordered the press plates... it came with them.
When sewing the exterior flap and lining flap together around the 3 edges, what seam allowance is that? 1/4?
Christine Elizondo the pattern calls for 1/2 inch along the long sides and to change it to 1/4 along the bottom side with the curved edges.... I do a 3/8 along the long sides instead because I had issues when I did the 1/2... does that make sense?
Thank you for doing the Marilyn wallet can’t wait to do mine xxx
Your videos are so amazing! Would you by chance have a little something on the flap like you did in video by chance? I just can’t seem to understand the instructions.
Hi! Thank you for your videos. Where do you buy your fabric, vinyl etc from? I have never used faux leather, vinyl etc. and am wanting to start. I was looking at My Punk Brodiery’s starter packs. Do you know if one sheet of vinyl would make something like this wallet? Thanks again.
Lauri Logsdon hello! I order from mypunkbroidery, fabric.com, and Hawthorne threads the most. If you get a roll from mypunk it is plenty! Not sure how big a sheet is though. Thank you for watching!!
Hello, love the video and the wallet. Can it be made with a snap instead of a turn lock?
Jennifer Bamford yes of
Course!!!😁
Thank you for doing this video. can you tell me what brand and type of thread you used please. Was it the same all the way through or did you have to change it for different parts of the wallet?
I just use the same thread for all of it, I use a bonded nylon 69 thread. I get it at my local store, or order it from Sunny sewing supplies. 😀
Really would love to know more about your industrial machine... I have a Juki 8700 and a Juki 1181 walking foot....love them both...
cathyjanehale mine is a kingmax, it is like the off brand of a Juki 1181, and I love it!!

I'm new to sewing and dont know all the interfacing and the numbers or whatever. What kind of Peltex did you use? Is it like 71F?
Yes a am pretty sure that is the one I used, although you could use mulitple peltex types, just needs to be sturdy and give it a shape, Decovil heavy is also one I like to use.
thanks i'm looking for a good wallet only thing i'd suggest is if there could be a quick review of what the finished wallet looks like before you start the tutorial. thanks for the how to!
Umm there is!
Hello - I see a small part of the disc on the snap press came off when you punched the hole. Is that piece magnetic? Now that I’ve seen it, I want this adapter for my snap press and am searching high and low on the Internet.
Shannon A it was just the cutting mat part of the bottom plate. I wish I wrote down where I got this piece a year ago, but I just wasn’t thinking I would need to know again!!
Shannon A I found the lady I bought it from! I just messaged her to see if she still sells these and if I can share her information with people so I will let you know as soon as she responds! 😁
Shannon A here’s the link for the lady I bought them from, go ahead and send her a message and she will get you set up! m.facebook.com/caffeinatedstitches

Where do you get your metal labels done?
I ordered them from alibaba.com
Is Peltex the same as decovil light?
No it is different! You can get peltex at joanns.
Julie Mills you could use decovil heavy though if you have that in hand I think.
What kind of sewing machine do you have?
Deborah Davis it is a kingmax, pretty much the off brand of a Juki 1181 😀
Sorry I entered the comment under the Marilyn wallet but my comment was for the Mia wallet...I am 74 and..that is my excuse :)

Like your videos lighting is good but I think volume is low I have a hard time hearing most of it thanks
Karen Betts thank you, I’m not having problems with the volume on my devices that I have listened to it on.... maybe check the volume control on yours?
Love your videos, but did not like the camera angle on this one. Like it better when I can actually see the sewing.
Beautiful
Thank you
