Thank you Debby for this pattern and your techniques. Can’t wait to make it!
Debby, I absolutely love the way you explain things, and break them down so well. I love your smart, useful tips and learn something from for you every time..both for the particular pattern you are demonstrating as well as applying techniques for other projects. I'm keeping an eye out for this pattern release.
Absolutely amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing you’re talent with us!! 🧵💜☕️
Just bought the pattern! Can't wait to make this!!!! Thank you for the video Debby!
Thank you Debby for the most informative tutorial I've ever seen. I'm so excited to try this.😍
Bought the pattern. Can't wait to make it. Great video!
Thanks Debby..loving all of your videos.. So helpful!
Another great video! Have the pattern, now to complete for Christmas presents! Thank you!
Beautiful work Debby. Thank you so much for the really detailed tutorial. I've never made a wallet before but feel that I could give it a go without too much fear now. Many thanks!
Just purchased. Can't wait to try it!
Great teaching tutorial. Thank for sharing your wallet pattern and knowledge
I just 'found' you and this amazing video today. I have already purchased the pattern and am so excited to get started on my first wallet. I've bought a few like this at retail stores and always loved the style, but they don't measure up to what I really want in a wallet. Also, I never knew there was a pattern and video on how to make my own. Thanks so much for this!
This is an awesome wallet pattern. I am amazed at how classy it looks, and complicated, and yet it is so easy to make. Great job Debby designing this.
Thank you so much Michelle! I appreciate the feedback!
I absolutely adore this wallet!! Thank you so much, I can't wait to make one 😍
It's a virtual copy of the Roxy wallet by serialbagmakers (www.serialbagmakers.com/product/roxy/)
GREAT video Debbie. Your edit made perfect sense.
Epic design! Thank you! Made 2 - both in cork fabric one of which I embroidered first. On the 2nd, once I had glued the extra strip before adding the bar frame, I stitched 1/8" along the top - made it oh so simple to glue on the frame. Love this design!!
Excellent video, Debby. Very well explained.
Beautiful wallet and you are really talented. Love your work.
Excellent..can’t wait to make one!
THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIALS YOU MADE IT LOOK EASY BUT I KNOW IT CAN BE HARD TRYING TO LINE UP ALL THANK YOU
I love this tutorial.
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome tutorial.. Thank you
Hi Debby, Ive just bought this pattern from you and I wondered if you knew of the thickness of the Peltex as I have to get this from the UK, not sure of the equivalent. Thank you, love your videos. Happy New Year, I cant wait for the 1st of the videos of the new year x
Hi. Love your tutorial. Is there a pattern that shows sizes to cut out
I absolutely LOVE your videos! Thank you for taking the time to make them for us. 💙💙💙💙
Also, when you cut your zipper down, cut all the length off of the pull end and keep your stop on the other end, hope that makes sense! And I use kids glue sticks and iron it to put my zippers down instead of the double sticky tape. It works fantastic!
Where did you get that leather?
Wooohoo exciting.
Just purchased this amazing pattern, thank you! Question, I want to make into a cross body bag. Is this possible and what hardware would you recommend and where to place.
thank you Thank you THANK YOU!
Hi Debby! I adore you and am so grateful that you take the time to share your talents with us! I don’t see where to purchase you pattern...
As with anything new, this new venture isn’t without a glitch or two... I’ve taken the pattern off line for a bit while I get a key page that was omitted put back...
Wow! Goals!
One lesson I learned that made my life easier is that you have to be very careful when pressing the panels for the cards. Keep everything straight! I was a little sloppy on the first 2 and unhappy that the width was somewhat off.
What can I do to obtain the leather materials you used in the tutorial? My absolute favorite color is the pink you have here for the kid skin, but especially the delicate flowers with dark contrasting branches. Please direct me in this matter. I will most definitely be purchasing this pattern & have plans to make it 4 times. I've got girls! Thank you for your clear & concise teachings.
The leather with the blossoms on it is from a US business called Peggy Sue Also. The pink leather was bought from Tandy Leather. It was a kid skin that I bought on sale.
Lovely video, as always. Thank you Debby. I have a question about the bar clasp. Would it be possible to use a different kind of bar clasp, one that doesn't need a hole cute in the front for the tongue? Thanks
Yes, it is. I have the alterations listed int he files section of my Facebook group “Friends of Debby Hunker” for the 8” frame, but I haven’t done the video yet for attaching the frame.
That would be awesome, not to have to cut a hole for the tongue. Thanks @@DebbyHunker
Hi loved the video. What do you call the cutter for cutting shape. Does is work on green rivet machine?
Debby, love your video. What machine are you using to sew this wallet? Will your Pfaff sew through the leather? Thanks for the great instructions.
I use my Juki TL2010Q because I LOVE that machine! It’s just perfect for bag making and it’s portable. I haven’t tried making one on my Pfaff, but I don’t think I’d have any problems sewing the cork or the weight of leather I’m working with.
Dear Debby I've finally made my first gratitude wallet. It's a good exercise also for my English :) I'm so happy, it's an awesome pattern ! Thank you for your explanation and the fabulous techniques for the coin pocket. Thanks sooooo much to share your creativity!!!
Beautiful wallet! How do you enclose the raw edges of the coin pocket if not using leather, cork, or vinyl?
What makes this wallet pattern unique is the methods I’m teaching. This pattern, unfortunately, is not designed for other materials.
@@DebbyHunker OK, thank you for replying.
Hi Debby. Love the video. Is it possible to make the wallet if you don’t have a press to cut the hole for the closure?
Yes, you can use scissors or an exacto knife...
Debby Hunker thx
Hey Debbie, regarding the raw edgers of the coin pocket, couldn't you use the same method as you do to insert a zip pocket in a bag?
I'm relatively new to bags and sewing but I'm going to try it 😘
Love watching your tutorials x
Hi Alison! I’m not sure if you’re asking about using the pocket method in a bag, or the bag method to make the zip pocket...
@@DebbyHunker to make the zip pocket? Just a thought! 😊 loving the purse x
Debby, I love the wallet. I can't wait to get home and try to make it myself. What is the stitch length that you use most on this project? Thanks!
2.5 stitch length for most of it... you might like the look of 3.0 for top stitching the slots and the coin pocket.
@@DebbyHunker Thanks!
Am I right in thinking I only need to cut the interfacing for the lining in one piece rather than two if using a Shape Flex 101 alternative which is wider than 20" ?
If you can cut your interfacing the same length as your card slots pieces, that’s awesome! My interfacing just comes in 20” widths...
Great video! I LOVE the process for attaching the coin pocket to the gussets - it's brilliant! The "Star Wars-esque" addendum where you switched the video sequence was perfect. But I do have a question - for the hole for the bar lock, ideally, this should be on the same side as the FRONT pockets, right? I followed along with everything in the video until we got to (1:09:27-ish), the hole for the bar lock is shown here after the coin pocket was sewn in, and the closed zipper pull is on the RIGHT (with the hole on the wallet side closest to the front of the screen), but that seems backwards to how it was described - that is, if I want the zipper to open from the left to the right when the wallet is opened. Then, when the video hits the end (1:13:34), the finished wallet does have the closed zipper pull on the LEFT now, but the hole for the clasp is still on the wallet side closest to the front of the screen. This makes it look like the hole switched sides. :-/ I think I understand what goes where to achieve the result I'd like, but something in those images at those two points doesn't quite jive in my little brain. Did I miss something?
Nope, you didn’t miss a thing... 😉
HA! Ahhhh - understood - it's that CZcams sewing magic. I know exactly what to do, then! Thanks, Debby!
Debbie, thanks for the video but have a question so I understand. So, you cut out your hole and place the metal bar clasp on after you sew your credit card panel together turn, then insert the peltex and after you put the peltex in then, sew your coin pocket on, is this the correct way? Thank you for your help
Yes. Everything is assembled and turned right side out, insert Peltex, then cut the hole. After the hole is cut, then sew in the coin pocket
Thank you so much Debbie, I know I'm going to love this pattern. Making my daughter a wallet to go with her handbag it's going to be beautiful. Best wishes to you with your new pattern
I would like to see this tutorial edited , my daughter watched this and said I don't understand I am glad you are here to explain things to me Mum, then I thought what about anyone starting out and no one to ask it is a fantastic wallet
I’ll be honest, this is the first ever comment where someone has had a problem understanding my video.
debby what size thread do you use for top stitching?
what type of fabric did you use for interior of your wallet
I used regular quilting cotton
Hi Debby, I just purchased the Gratitude wallet pattern. I haven't watched the video yet. In reading the pattern quickly, what do the letters at the very end A-F with measurements mean?
Congratulations!!
Those are the templates for folding the card slots. The instructions say to cut tthem from cardstock. The letters correspond to the folding chart.
@@DebbyHunker got it, thank you!
No! Thank you!! I went and looked and somewhere through all the edits, the folding chart got lost... I will fix it and make sure you get a copy emailed!
@@DebbyHunker oh, ok. LOL I didn't even realize the chart was missing.
This seems to be a direct copy of the Roxy wallet from Serial Bagmakers (www.serialbagmakers.com/product/roxy/) - with only a tiny modification, a modification which has already been given as a hack on the Roxy well before the release of the 'gratitude wallet'. As an aside - 'Doodabug' seems rather close to Deidelbug - a well known bagmaker in existence long before 'Doodabug'. Old habits dying hard eh??
Debby, may I ask where you purchased your lovely floral leather?
It’s from a business in the US called PeggySueAlso
Having trouble with back card slots . In order to cut down to 51/4 I am cutting bottom pocket . Have done 2 and get same thing
Ok figured it out lol Helps if you cut out your cardstock right
Double check the measurements of your templates. That’s probably the issue...
My wife said thank you Debbie for your help.
You're very welcome!!
Hi Debby what beautiful pattern. Just purchased the pattern just a bit lost here. On the pattern to make coin pocket pattern piece it says 1. The question is i didn't see any size measurements, could you please explain? Thanks you very much
Print the pattern piece so you can use it as a template. The measurements of the piece are also written on the pattern piece itself just below the “Cut 1…”
@@DebbyHunker aahhh got it!!! Thanks Debby 😊🙏💕
Could you tell me where to find the glue that you use. I’ve done search but without luck
Hi Sheila! I’m not sure where you’re located... That would be helpful to help source glue. It doen’t Need to be the same brand, any really good fabric glue will work. I really like the narrow tipped bottle for getting the glue in the channel though.
Thx for the reply. I virtually found it at Walmart so I’ll go there today and see if they really have it.
Will the pattern be pdf and will I be able to purchase it I'm in the UK, I can't seem to find the pattern? And what is the cost?
Yes, it’s PDF and will be available shortly. I’ve had a little technical glitch that I need to fix.
@@DebbyHunker thank you, I now have my copy of the wallet, hope you and your car are OK🤞
Ughhh.... My first attempt was a total fail! I must have cut something wrong somewhere. It didn't cause a problem until time to fold and match up the gussets. Nothing was lining up correctly. I ended up trimming a bit off one end but that didn't help, I think may have made it worse. I went ahead and sewed in my coin pocket anyway even though the gussets didn't line up evenly on each side to see how it would look. Plus the hole I cut for the bar clasp was just a bit too big and you could see the gap. Wah!!! When I got it done, the gussets bulge out the sides and the coin pocket is too high and just does not sit well in the wallet. My fault, the instructions and video were very well done and I did enjoy it. I will have to buy some more lining fabric but that stinks because that along with the cork I used was going to match the Yanna by Shamballa bag I made. Luckily I have enough cork left!
Hi Debby, thank you for your video :) I have a trouble, I'm Italian so maybe I misunderstood the passage of the cork outside. How is it possible 16" x10" of cork or leather ( the size is written in the pdf) when the interior is 7,5" x 10? I know that it should be wider than 7,5" but 16" is really too much. Help me to understand, please. I can not go on :( thanks!!
There are two pieces cut from the large piece of cork. The coin pocket is cut from the pattern piece, the exterior measurement is in the cutting chart.
Debby, excuse meeeeee! I forgot to recheck the c.chart!Thank youuu :)
Hi. I’m trying to buy your pattern but it keeps coming up with United States but I live in the United Kingdom. Can you help please. Thanks
I will have my tech look at it. We thought we had that fixed. 🙂

I am in the U.S.A. Is there anyway I can get the clasp part of the wallet here?
