I first noticed how amazing Andrew Garfield was in social network , a lot of people forget that social network put him on the map as he showed how talented he was
He wasn’t a bad Spider-Man. He was just amazing.
The first movie wasn’t the problem. All these clips have their comment section filled with people defending the Garfield movies. Only one of them is worth defending. He was the problem. The second movie just sucked. Every decision every character made was dumb. Not sure if it was studio interference, or a bad writer or what. But it stunk. And lots of people let it tarnish their enjoyment of the first one. I don’t get it.
@@Segwo Sony excluded a lot of scenes in both movies that would make the movies better and the villains, maybe that was it. Even though these movies had a bad script, Sony blew it too, unfortunately.
He never was a "bad" spiderman at all, it's just that some of thee writers/producers screwed up the storylines for the movies he was in. He was always amazing ass spiderman regradless.

@@Segwo The second movie is unfortunately really bad but I LOVE the aesthetics, jokes, humor, web swinging of that movie alot and spider-man's suit is the BEST in that movie as it looks like ultimate spider-man came to life. It had superficial aspects that were great but the story itself was all over the place.
This is my favourite suit, period. It’s the most realistic take on a first Spider-Man suit. No Tony Stark, no fancy webbing that pops out of the red spandex. It’s not too simple, it’s not too complex. It has the right balance between fiction and reality. I’d use sunglasses for eyeholes, but I wouldn’t know where to start on the webbing, I’d use spandex for the base of the suit but I don’t have the right mind to factor in velocity and momentum when web swinging.

I agree this is my favorite suit as well I just really dislike the eyes on this mask I prefer the mask in TASM 2 with the bigger eyes that would a perfect suit imo.

The MCU movies made spidey so high tech that the part that makes him so fascinating, the swinging and the crawling, sort of took the backseat. The reason I love these movies so much despite obvious flaws is because they really are an experience. The POV shots while he’s swinging, the camera angles, the minimal use of CGI, makes it so realistic and almost gives you the sense of adventure that Peter must be feeling as he’s discovering the extent of his powers. Shots like when he lands on the facade of the glass building, pure magic!!! The last scene of this film is also pure joy!! People criticize Marc Webb’s direction but imo he did a fantastic job. Where the movies fall short is the narrative structure and not compelling enough villains. But still, these movies will always have a fond place in my heart ❤️

Webb really put a realistic twist on the web head, and that's why I love this spiderman film the most, 'cause it really says "anyone can be spiderman" with enough time and effort of course, but what I'm trying to say is that this is probably the most realistic spiderman film to date, all the dark colors in New York which perfectly explains new york by today's standards and how peter build his suit with everyday things you can see/buy/find and this film is in one word *amazing*

I love how the way Andrew’s Peter became Spider-Man had a more scientific feel to it. You literally see how he made & tested his webs and even before he made the webs he practiced on a swinging chain. You see his costume evolve, etc. I love that about this movie.

Man, I always loved spiderman with a backpack. Makes him seem more human and relatable, feels like a lone adventurer / lone explorer. Aesthetically it also looks really cool. The shot of him standing up with the new suit / backpack on top of the building during sunset is epic

Garfield has the closest physique and web swinging to Spider-Man , and performs so many air tricks while swinging, and honestly ASM1 has the second best suit behind the raimi suit IMO. It’s so unique and reflective.

I find it scary that this movie came out 10 years ago. I was in my first year of high school when I watched it in theaters. 10 years later, it's still AMAZING!!! I always loved Andrew's take on Spider-Man especially when No Way Home gave him the closure he deserved 🔥
What I like about TASM 1 is that it shows a different aspect of Peter Parker and Spider-Man as a whole. This Peter is a shy, nerdy, introverty Peter. He is likable by most students, even Flash shows remorse to him later on, but overall just not popular and under the radar. He doesn't have any friends aside from Harry (who we learn in the 2nd movie moved away from public school when him and Peter were small) and Gwen who he only dates. He is not a clichéd kid who is picked on everyday by bullies. This Peter is very intelligent and holds a interest in technology and physics more than Tobey and Tom's interation. He is a more realistic depiction of a high school teen that isn't afraid to get in trouble or take drastic measures to get what he wants. As in stealing a Oscorp ID to find out his father's involvement and get closer to Connors. Other than that he's friendly and has a good relationship with mostly everyone he encounters. His arguement with Ben in the movie shows him crying in anger and leaving, as a teen would in similar circumstances. The next scene with him at the store and not having enough money is your usual teen playing dumb in an attempt to get away with it. He doesn't stop the robber because he was in such a bad mood that he didn't give a shit about the crime. Being bitten by the spider was interesting and funny because rather than immediately waking up to it by suprise, he gets very paranoid and accidently breaks things in his house.
As for his Spider-Man, he is potrayed as a revengeful vigilante after the death of Ben. Trying to hunt down the guy responsible for Ben's murder and using the powers to his advantage is both relatable and understandable. But after saving someone in danger, he remembers Ben's quote on responsibility over choices he must take and becomes Spider-Man. He forgets about Ben's killer and goes after Connors and takes down criminals in his spare time. His comedic nature is also accurate as he cracks jokes and is very satire while fighting crime. He mocks a crook with a knife and disarms a cop while saying "I just did your job for you."
It's a combination of good character writing and great acting. TASM 1 is a masterpiece. I consider it to be the "The Batman" of Marvel and it would be the perfect origin story if it was just a standalone film.

People at first didn’t appreciate this movie bc it was the second Spider-Man after Tobey. Tobeys movie set the bar high & I think people expected Andrews movie to be the same (or if not better) but this movie came out to be totally different except for of course uncle Ben back story etc. Finally after so long he finally gets appreciated for the kind of Peter and Spider-Man he portrays. He deserves it and also he deserves a 3rd movie where Peter actually works on himself (self talk) and actually heals his broken heart ❤️🩹 , finds true love & self happiness! 😁🥲🥲

If you look in the video you can see that pretty much every information he got was from the internet, not to mention Peter walking behind two nerds as they are talking about his swinging with scientific knowledge. That just shows that Peter actually did his research while making his own web-shooters and costume. The movie literally shows it, it’s just that people might of missed it or didn’t get it.

they don't like it because peter in this movie isn't socially inept. other than the typical awkwardness between him and gwen at the start, he has no problem speaking up for himself or others and doesn't present himself as being introverted. a lot of people will also say he's "too attractive" for peter parker. it's all stuff they can't relate to. what's funny is that the same people who say andrew garfield is the worst peter, will also say he's the best spiderman because he actually trash talks.

Agree, Toby is great and liked him, but he was more of an emotional struggle as in he wasnt sure what to do with his powers and therefore he wasnt a superhero, he found it to be a job, a sacrifice and weight on his shoulders.
Andrew actually worked for this once he got the skills, tested himself, the tools and used his brain to overcome difficulties and seen the opportunity in the abilities he got.
As for Tom, he is an everyday kid (of course smart) but his actions are like a child, he takes his skills naturally but rejects the mental work with it, thats is why he shows off, talks too much, wants to be A superhero, and a lot of the legwork being provided to him (like suits by Tony Stark) but he is a child and makes childis mistakes (the Ship for example)
the scripts the guys got were very different in their aspects.
i think Toby’s spiderman was well played, but got too much emphasis on his inner struggles. Tom’s spiderman is childis with a rich patron, and he is way too cool - but he delivers it perfectly
Andrew’s spiderman was the right balance, and got lot of things righ, but came out the wrong time. there was this gap between superhero movies where everything went down a bit, even the good stuff
Tom’s world was different because at that point the MCU started to take shape and it all connected together.
Andrew would deserve a proper next movie - even if somehow keeps contact with the MCU, like Dr Strange or someone from Shield turning up and giving him a mission or something.
He didn't need Tony Stark
So Tobey is pure Nostalgia, while Andrew is just someone you can admire and mature! ❤️🔥❤️
