Watching how disappointed and proud Tony was in Peter is amazing.
It makes sense though. He's only 15 and feels he isn't ready to be one of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes". He's probably too intimidated.

2:16 Iron Man was a great father figure/moral support to Spider-Man especially after his first father figure Uncle Ben and biological father Richard Parker both died just like how Aunt May/moral support was also a great mother figure to Spider-Man especially after his biological mother Mary Parker died and it was pretty heartbreaking that Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame (2019) after using the infinity stones to kill the alternate Thanos and his army and the Black Order and save the universe from its destruction causing Spider-Man to lose yet another father figure and later lost his mother figure Aunt May to Green Goblin/Norman Osborn in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) so him becoming emotionally embittered after it before being consoled by the Tobey Maquire Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man explaining the important people they lost in their lives too and motivated him to continue being the superhero he is despite the mistakes he will make and people he will lose in the process just as they did made sense.

Definitely a cool Easter egg.

@@UrFavDudeOnUtube He did, in fact, carry most of the Marvel movies since 2008.
Any other obvious things you want to point out like the sky is blue or grass is green?
I love this scene because Tony isn't used to rejection and this is Peter's next evolution but he rejected it because he wants to look out for the little guy.
nah. Peter here is second guessing Tony's intentions in this frame and trying to align with the "more mature" version he thinks TS expects of him. The kid desperately wants to be an avenger. Tom Holland does a beautiful job of conveying this subtextually. The looking out for the little guy bit was just a facade. Look at the way he looks at the suit and his "pleased as punch" face when he walks out. Tom Holland is probably the single best thing to happen to the spiderman arc. He brings a raw innocence and naivete that is normal for that age.
@@vvenkat111I agree with your interpretation of the scene, but this is also exactly why I hate Holland's spiderman. He goes through so much throughout the movies and does very little actual growing. Getting in constant fights like he does should have some effect on his character, yet he still acts like a kid in almost every facet. Even in this scene, which is explicitly meant to show development, feels more like a joke, because he only thought he was being tested. Tony Stark's awkwardness also ruined what should've been a heartwarming scene. I think the writers focus way too much on every scene being funny or having a punchline.
@@ethyr no way home literally fixes this, the ending shows his maturity and growth beyond his years
@@rnathanielryaan2034 yes'm. You're right about it fixing it. I think the problem was that in the first movie there was enough shit that should have messed with Tom's character in a way that isn't just responsibility. He's seem people die and almost die and we had to wait till the last movie to see ANY meaningful growth? I love Tom's spiderman but it's like the legend of Korra where the characters had years to mature and they didn't. Did Tom mature? Hell yeah but why did it take so damn long. It's the shitty writing
@@sammyiel9626 the whole point of the trilogy was to be an origin story for spiderman. all through homecoming, far from home, and the majority of no way home, we are watching peter parker try to live up to what spiderman is. at first he was following in the footsteps of tony, trying to meet his expectations, then he felt he had to fill in tony's shoes and be the new tony even when he didnt want to be, then in no way home he was finally finding his own way. Now without anyone knowing who he is, or with any family, he can be spiderman. he is now spiderman.
Watch Tom's eyes as he's offered to become an Avenger. Just by watching his eyes, the audience knows what he's thinking. He had some great acting coaches.
There's also just raw talent. He was in the movie "The Impossible" which was released on January 4th 2012. Holland was all of 14 when it was actually filmed and gave a great performance. We rarely see a gifted child actor transition so well into adulthood. Kudos to his parents for keeping him grounded.
@@MybpetersonI think it's partially because he has been on the stage in the starring role since he was young. He learnt at a young age that acting up was not the correct way to deal with stress.
Also, it's Marvel. They brought him into a huge franchise. They wanted to keep him clean.
Tom Holland is an amazing actor. And the perfect Spider-Man.
"I've been carrying this since 2008"... well played Favreau.... well played.
Ohhh that is good. I've watched this movie about a dozen times by now and I never noticed.
So many little details - my favorite is @5:08 - Tony looks at Happy with almost confusion, and then as Pepper leads him into the room he gives him the smallest glance. Happy flips the ring to him before he even turns back around and Tony catches it perfectly. THAT'S teamwork. Makes the dream work.
I always thought it was more like "Dude you definitely shouldn't have told her I've been planning on proposing since 2008", plus a bit of "oh damn she's gonna say yes"
he is just so natural at being tony stark, the best thing marvel has gave us

But are they the MCU going to make anymore movies with Spiderman and Tom H. I personally would like them to continue making movies with the orginal cast they have for as long as the actors are physically able. And also i know that actors get tired of playing the same character all the time , but i feel they should be glad to be the iconic actor of a certain character, like Chris Evens as Capt. America because it would ensure steady employment/ paycheck and steady fans for life, or at least an decade or two. Look at Jonathan Frid who played the orginal Barnabas Collins vampire on the Dark Shadows tv gothic soap opera, it is all he is really remember for and thousands of fans were heartbroken at is passing. While he was alive he attended lots of conventions and fan reunions .

What I love about this scene is that it shows that Peter now knows that being a hero is hard and it's going to be even harder with the whole world, and the government, looking over his shoulder. He decided that he didn't want that.he chose to be the one who people can look up to, but doesn't seem too dangerous
Well look what Tony has to go through. He needs his own legal team in order for the US Government from confiscating his tech.
I really wish we could have seen more of this Stark, the guy running things, mentoring newbies.
Not merely mentoring a youngster, but identifying with him. Tony became an orphan in his freshman year at MIT, Peter became an orphan even earlier. That’s what their bond was based on.
Nobody gonna talk about how smooth that ring throw and catch was?
the way stark spins around, doing backwalk, both arms straight down, and blank forward stare after catching the ring and before closing the door seemed familiar to me, this isn't his first time doing such movement, right?
I love how Tony put the fancy spider suit in a plain paper bag with a cute little note written out on it on Peter's bed. 😂
Best part of the movie....whole theater bust out laughing
I like how they did it in the original movies that came out in the 2000's everyone knew aunt may knew Peter was spiderman by the way she encouraged him, but she never blatantly told Peter she knew. I loved that dynamic.
That was consistent with the comics.
It added another layer. Here it didn't add anything. Was treated as a joke and didn't matter until No way home.
You're dreaming man - Aunt May didn't know ever, not in the comics at least. And the first movie from 2000 didn't show any clues that she knew. It's only in the later movies/comics where everything is changed around purely for amusement and political corretness, etc. They all are a disgrace to a once fantastic story!

My favourite thing about this scene is a headcannon I have that peter definitely knew the reporters were there. I mean, he has super hearing, so even if he couldn’t hear them clearly he could definitely hear them to some extent, because we can see when pepper comes out that they aren’t exactly being quiet.
Something tells me that tony would've had the press room soundproofed so that they couldn't hear things going on in the compound. It was dead quiet until she opened the door
Tony tells Peter before announcing the new suit there are about 50 reporters, not vloggers

Peter is very careless. Why didn't he close his bedroom door before trying on the Spider-Man suit? You'd think that after Ned found out, he would have learned to make sure his room is secure before changing in or out of his suit

imho, still the best, and by best i mean THE BEST reaction from aunt may on film to finding out. I remember watching this in the theater and it erupted over this.
2:03 Tony doing shit on accident and then pretending it was on purpose once it all works out
Honestly if he would have taken the opportunity the events later would have been more of his favour, maybe even better for May... but at the time it seemed the best decision.
Remember he said "if she knew this she will freak out" 🤭
This would of made an epic What If (if spider man stayed to join the avengers instead of being humble and returning home to NYC
I love how Parker choose not to because he wants to earn his spot on the team and Tony loves him for being good
He really took Tony's lessons to heart, and made a mature decision, validating Tony's trust and giving him even more reason to think Peter will grow up to be a better man than Tony was for most of his life.
Great chemistry between Holland and RDJ, and each was a perfect segment in both their respective arcs. Both learned, both taught, both earned respect, albeit in different ways, while the mentor/mentee relationship was respected.
Ultimately, they came to have a truly touching, wholesome father-son kind of bond, which is way too rare in Hollywood theses days.

don't change peter. you need to stay a "friendly neighborhood spiderman". not all heroes save the universe. sometimes, saving an old lady from a thief is as important, if not more.
This is why Tom will always be my favorite Peter Parker but toby is and always will be my favorite spider man besides he also had the best looking suit I loved the webbing design on the suit and the large spider symbol ❤
So he calls out to his aunt, then spends 3 minutes getting into the tight suit, and then she decides to respond to his call. some timeline and family dynamic!

It's weird that at 3:30 when Peter's mouth isn't visible to the camera they chose to dub in the "Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man" part. I'm not well versed in movie production but it felt so weird and out of place with how the audio quality changed and you could clearly tell that line came out in a controlled sound booth and is much louder than the rest of the audio in the scene. And the way his face is moving as visible from the back of the head it doesn't even look like what he said is in sync with his face physically moving as seen from the back. Not sure if the delivery just wasn't what they wanted from the scene so they dubbed it later or in the original scene he said something different.
Good catch, I didn't notice it (especially the change in room echo) until I saw your comment and rewatched the bit.
As far as his facial movements not matching the words, I would guess he's saying the same line, but they wanted Tony's expression from slightly later in the clip, so they pushed the clip out of sync. It's annoying, but that's a well-used technique.
