I was Nun 2 pleased with the quality of this movie
Hey king 🙌
10.10/10
Master
Why are nuns always just walking around in these movies? Is it bc they are Roaming Catholics?
Ba dum tish
They don't understand that Valak scared us when she was just standing in the hallway. Or when we got startled just from noticing Valak's shadow moving in the background.
Bonnie Aarons is absolutely amazing and she did so well. I only love this character so much because of her and it really feel like the director messed up. I hate that they defeat a whole demon just by yelling random shit at it😂 to me, that feels so Scooby Doo because in reality, Maurice died during or after the exorcism, so whatever he was dealing with, it was extremely powerful. I find it hard to believe that such an extremely powerful demon will just go back to hell because you scream at it "i condemn you back to hell" over loud music and a bunch of other people yelling on the background. And this has been an issue starting with Conjuring 2, because Conjuring 1 is really, really good.
Wel thats the thing if you were to watch the movies and at least watched 1 or even 2 theory videos/ timeline videos valak is powerfull because ❌warning spoiler❌warning spoiler❌ last warning
Valak is a fallen angel and the nun aka irean is a decendent of a deity making irean much more powerful against valak and once again if you watched any theory video it is to be said that lorrain warren is a descendent of irean/ the deity so during the conjuring 2 when lorrain sent valak back to hell she was of course powerfull also because valak has been badly defeated twice valak was weak and was only able to possess so many people at a time so valak used other people/ghost (conjuring2) to make sure no one knew it was valak because once again she is weak also because if their vision and their “blessings” lorrain held more power as we know in the conjuring one edd tried doing sn exorcism but it didnt go as planned why??? Because he is a normal being who is a serverent of god unlike lorrain who has powerful blood running through her making lorrains voice more powerful and in the conjuring one during the end lorrain was the one talking to the mom (possesed) with lorrains hand on the mom and we see a flashback to the moms happy moment which i also think was lorrain using her powers which helped the mom fight back the possession so it is alot its okay to be overwhelmed but it’s definitely alot more of a rabbit hole than most people think
Fr i wished they killed Maurice
The Nunjuring part 3: We're Getting tired of your Nunsense, Valak!
Silly Valak.
Hey! I was actually talking about the strikes with an actor friend of mine who works around New York. They said that going to the cinema isn't actively hurting the strike, since it's helping the actors gain royalties, so I think you're good to go!
Fk Hollywood I hope they all go broke 😂
Yeah I’m not gonna help strike somebody else’s job anyway lol
I hate to be rude, but as soon as I saw that Michael Chavez was directing Devil Made Me Do It (and now The Nun 2), my expectations plummeted. I miss James Wan :(
Nah James wan has 1 or 2 ok movies but overall these “popular” horror directors are so corny, cringe and cheap cash grabs. No wonder award shows rarely/never nominates horror films, no one takes them seriously ever. It’s the same as marvel movies, is pathetic. Just say you like pure entertainment and can’t watch a real film….no plot whatsoever.
@moviekidd0607 You really enjoyed The Nun 2 more than The Conjuring?
I feel the Same
@@Yomamuh420they are not your style but a lot of viewers like them because they are fun. Award shows don’t even mean anything. They extremely bias and racist and only go for certain type of stories
100%
I hate jump scares and I’m so tired of people calling horror movies without them “not scary” cause like, when a horror movie actually puts in work to creep you out I just find that so much more effective?
Give me some scary movies?
I like terrifer 2 my favorite of all time
the “concentrate on something, look away for no reason, look back and JUMPSCARE” was the only scare in the entire movie. just over, and over, and over. i went to see it with my fiancé for our anniversary and all i could think about was “she never had a reason to look at that plastic bag in the alley” it was, frankly, not great.
Edit: there was one part i did like. SPOILER. when the MC is running through the alley, letters on the buildings spell out VALAK. kind of like the bookshelf in the conjuring 2. neat detail!
i like the spookier lighting!
I remember watching the nun when it first came out. Me and my siblings were so disappointed and mad we had really high hopes for the movie. When I saw the trailer for the second nun I was thinking "ugh another one?"🤣🤣🤣
Looking forward to you reviewing Saw X and The Exorcist:Believer!
I used to watch your channel when I was in high School, I cant believe you have a kid now! So amazing how time flies
Love the lighting! It’s giving cozy fall vibes for sure!
The "other" entity you refer to I thought was Valak's truer form, as seen in the book that Father Burke finds in the Abbey in the first movie? Also, I thought the first one was more entertaining and the scares were more tolerable.
Love the lighting!
I appreciate your honest perspective.❤
So the pitch for this movie was basically: "What do you say about these horror movie scenes where a character notices something and then slowly wanders off to investigate, just to be met with a jump scare that might or usually might not kill them?"
- "They're effective scenes that raise a lot of tension. I like it. What else have you got?"
"What do you mean 'what else'? We'll just copy paste that trope a bunch of times and call it a day!"
I also didn't like the first movie and agree that The Nun 2 was better. Even though Gothic Horror is one of my favourite subgenres, I gave it 3 stars, because I wish it actually focused on Valek and had some backstory on the actual demon which it doesn't really.
Honestly I disagree. I'm fine with the very few information we've got about her, and I'd rather remaining in the dark than risking to end up with some kind of pathos
Loooove the orange light. Giving autumn and Halloween! I didn’t like The Nun, I doubt I’ll see this movie, but I will always watch a review from you 🖤🧡
Beautiful is beautiful in any lighting. Love your channel.
I have a theory that Sister Irene is Lorraine Warren’s mother, and that’s a connection between The Conjuring and The Nun that they’ll make in an upcoming movie. Because this movie expanded on Sister Irene being psychic and getting the powers from her mother, so I’m thinking she passes down her power to Lorraine Warren? If not her mother then they’re related by both being relatives of Saint Lucie maybe.
Its definitely not her mom. This movie takes place in 1958 lorraine warren would have already been alive and about 20 or so. In the 3rd conjuring they flashed back to the 1950s and lorraine was about 15-20. Sister Irene and lorraine would be too close in age. Unless Irene had her very very young. And lorraine and ed performed an exorcism on maurice.
@@chandraa5333 Ah ok, yes I wasn’t sure of the timelines exactly. I think there’s still some kind of psychic connection somehow though.
I love your channel! I always come here to find a good movie or to see if anything is worth watching!
I truly enjoyed the Nun 2 but I'm probably the only horror fan in the universe that enjoys jump scares so it gave me what I wanted. It improved on the first film, we got more Valak and action sequences. It was a solid spooky good time for me 😂
Jumpscares are fine if they're not predictable or completely pointless.
Me too! Me too!! Just luv to be scared & jump!
If jump scares done properly, it is incredibly effective and enjoyable
Keep the orange lighting!! ❤

excellent review hoping to see this movie soon earned yourself a new sub
It is not breaking the strike/crossing the picket line for reviewers to review movies; just as long as you are not being paid by the company to promote/talk about struck work! 😊 as long as your opinions, good or bad, are your own being a reviewer, watching the movies and talking about them is your livelihood and you are good!
Anyway, I had fun watching The Nun II in theaters, probably wouldn’t have gone to see it in theaters if I didn’t have the AMC pass though. It was fun, nothing super memorable, but not the worst installment of the Conjuring-verse by far!
i did love the magazine scene
i know exactly what you mean by the connivence of things lol there were moments where i rolled my eyes
This movie barely kept my attention, I found it boring and drawn out, and I probably wasn’t the only one feeling this way because a man got up and left half way through 😂
I found the relationship between Sophie and Maurice strange at points, just *cringe*. The goat was almost comical to me. The jump scares were obvious but so drawn out. Just overall I wasn’t a fan of this movie.
yeah this movie sucked 👎👎 BTW you are absolutely stunning 😍😍👌
Hey everyone is different. So I won’t judge ever
Hey look at you, so different, so special 😂😂😂
I thought it was a bit disjointed but I liked it better than the fist. Overall I think the Annabelle movies are the stronger spin offs.
The orange light sets such a nice Halloween-y atmosphere! The Nun is also my most disliked Conjuring film, so I went into Nun 2 with literally no expectations. I ended up liking it (3/5 stars)! I agree with everything you said about it being lackluster and the jump scares though. It's a very unimpressive film, but since it's predecessor was literally awful it made this one probably seem better than it was to me.
What is that lip color you're wearing? I love it 😮
Lol ur face in the thumbnail 😂 I feel like I don’t even have to watch your video (but I still will obvi)
Watching now…lightning looks great 👍🏼
Wait. It has unending jump scares? Awesome 😎
I watched this movie with my mom and half way through the movie i look over to my mom and she’s taking a nap 😭😂
I am that person who likes horror to look at it amaze, not jump out of it.
There is one particular scene near the end with valak that I thought we are gettin the nun x Star Wars crossover…
It definitely looked like a wait and stream it later movie, lol. I love your reviews and I agree with you and your opinion
hello beautiful 😍
If the release date stays the same the physical media release of this is November 14, 2023
i love the orange light. it's giving autumn.
i'm not sure if i want to see the second movie.. the first one was sooo boring.
Agreed with everything!
Anyone who isn’t directly involved with the industry shouldn’t be affected by the strike tbh I think it would be stupid for that to be the case
You could do a video about horror sequels that are way better than the first movie!
That would be a pretty short video. I can't even think of any that I'd say were better than the first 😂
Scenes from the trailer were also cut out the movie🤦🏻♂️
Um this lighting is a vibe!! Excited to hear your thoughts, even though you didn’t like it (I hated the first as well) I’m probably still going to see this 😂
Hey sorry about the comment, and dunno if anybody else's pointed it out.. not trying to sound rude or anything, but I've noticed that the audio in this videos does have a sort of weird.. cracking noise/white noise. It's like the cable of your mic wasn't fully in, or it is defective.
I did enjoyed your review, but was a bit distracted by that :) take care
I saw it on the weekend and it had good jump scares that’s about it lol 🖤
Wonder if this movie is any good to see.
Love the background colors 😍
Im earlyyyyyyyyyyy 😏😏😏 I found the nun 2 disappointing especially for how powerful Valak was portrayed in the conjuring and the nun 1. She wasn’t at all in this one
I clicked like the second the add ended😂😂 I’ll only watch this movie if it ends up on Netflix 😬
That CGI when valek came out of the portrait near the end was too much. I laughed out loud a little
I haven't seen Nun 2 but I bought the Conjuring Universe DVD set awhile back on sale and it has the Nun and the Anabelle movies as well. I tried watching The Nun and to me it was boring as hell and I fell asleep. I have no interest in seeing Nun 2. I thought I would watch your non spoiler review and yes I still have no interest.
I'm really excited to see Saw X. I'm hoping it's good. Thanks for the review!! 😊
Jump scares in big budget movies are just million-dollar games of peek-a-boo.
Hey! Totally on the same wavelength as you on the review of The Nun 2, The Curse of La llorona and Conjuring 3. I liked but didn't love the Nun 2. And I enjoy watching La Llorona. And Conjuring 3, I just couldn't get into it.
I think Valak's gender would technically be "They" since they started out as an angel which are effectively neutral gender.
It's most definitely a he
@@cyberspace7208 Except Valak is played by a she...
@@Edowin-jz2sj Yes, a she playing a he.
You honestly inspired me to start reviewing films i watch even without posting it anywhere but just for the love of film
I think the lighting looks great, so you can totally film whenever it is best for you and your daughter and your videos will still look amazing! As for the movie, I decided not to spend my money on it and just check it out whenever it comes on VOD. I did think the first movie was okay though (as in like 6/10 okay)🤷♀
The fact that so much of it bored me and that my theater was super hot for some reason made me contemplate leaving a few times. The callbacks I think were annoying bc they were SO obvious, good callbacks are the ones you don’t even realize until you’re driving home from the theater or until you watch it again. Definitely better than the first one and Taissa is a fantastic actress, but there is so much potential wasted. Opening scene and the goat were elements I LOVED, as well as the atmosphere ofc
The worst part with Devil made me do it was that the first 30 minutes was amazing and then all the momentum just disappeared.
its because the enemy was a satanist and not a demon. which idk.. just much less scary. but your right first 30 minutes up until hes walking down the street possessed were amazing
Doesn't Nun 2 ending contradicts the first movie?
Spoiler warning for Nun 2, i'll talk about it's ending:
So, in the end of the first movie, we see the Warrens talking while showing footage of Maurice's exorcism, but then at the end of Nun 2 he gets exorcized by sister Irene. What happened here? Is he going to get possessed by Valak again?
Btw, why did Lorraine exorcize Valak so easily when Irene, daughter of a saint and able to perform miracles, had so much trouble even when she was using holy artifacts? I don't get it
He gets Exorcised after The Nun II, and then takes his own life after the Warrens failed to Exorcise whatever demon he gets possessed by (maybe still Possessed by Valak) and thats when she has a vision of Eds death that almost happens in The Conjuring 2
Valak was really hard to get rid of. They managed to "kill" Valak until The Conjuring 2, because that's the only time they finally used its name in an exorcism. (And the reason why Irene never really defeated Valak, because she didn't know the name of the demon)
When Irene "exorcized" Maurice she just got rid off it for some time because I'm sure Maurice was still possesed.
Then the Warrens tried an exorcism on him too, and that's the tape we see at the end of The Nun (which I'm sure didn't work either).
And if I'm not wrong Maurice commited suicide after :[
Another thing is there was sooo many jump scares that it was just hard to even try and enjoy the plot
So I went to see it and the popcorn made me sick. I missed a good portion of it and still knew exactly what was going on. I feel like the Nun films arent to enjoy but are just fillers for other conjuring films. I think we are getting to the end of the conjuring universe. I feel like they are going to wrap valek up in a little bow and get rid of him. In the next conjuring film and we be done.
I thought it was better than the first one and thought the nun 2 was okay. 6/10 for me I didn’t have high expectations for this movie so I had a good time with it. It somewhat got the Annabelle treatment where the 2nd movie in the spin-off is better than the first but it’s not amazing. My favorite sequence (which got the biggest reaction out of me) was the goat sequence and that was practical I didn’t see any CGI on that thing (at least to me). I saw the movie twice and the magazine jumpscare got me both times even tho I knew it was coming💀
I actually liked this movie! It was fun, nothing fancy. But I do really like the Nun so I’m not surprised
My Conjuring-Universe Ranking from best to worst: Conjuring 2, Annabelle 2, The Conjuring, Annabelle 3, Conjuring 3, The Nun, Annabelle
I also HATE jumpscares, they ruin the whole thing for me. But love horror movies, especially these fantasy ones. Since I work in the medical field, gore doesn’t ever do it for me 😅 could any of you guys recommend really good supernatural horror movies without or with only a few jumpscares from the last 20 years? Thanks 🥳
i know its hella popular so you might’ve already seen it but hereditary is phenomenal, so fucking scary to me
Talk to Me, it just came out and it’s the scariest movie i’ve ever seen, and not one jump scare. can’t reccomend enough
You need to watch the Lodge and Saint Maud! Such brilliant films, saint maud even follows a former nurse 😄
"the nun" works better in a non religious enviroment...creates an unexpected fear (like in a house). the nun in a house or an alley...creepy, in a church...kinda expected. But I love the atmosphere no matter the location
I enjoyed this movie. I did find the story and ending a little weak. But the goat man scenes genuinely scared the s**t out of me
I wrote this in my instagram review and don’t if you mention it because I just started the video. But it felt like someone took “Annabelle Creation” and ran it through a super hero movie ai generator.
I think the curse of la llorona is not linked to the conjuring universe they did confirmed this somewhere on the internet the director confirmed it
annabelle is in the movie so its gotta be linked
This movie could've been a postcard
girl you are glowing! always excited to see your videos ✨
If you ever go back to doing book reviews, I'll love to hear your thoughts on Nick Cutter's new book, The Handyman Method; co-written with Andrew F. Sullivan.
It wasn't good but I found it entertaining and some stuff was cool.
I went it watched it the week it came out with friends and we were so bored in the first half. I
This one was so bad but better than the first 😭
As someone who also did not like the first "Nun" movie and find most of the Conjuring universe movies disposable, I'll admit I didn't mind this one. I actually liked it better than The Conjuring 3, which I was not expecting, but then again, I was probably way too generous to that film at the time I watched it. I thought this film had some pretty fun moments, and I actually found the main characters to be pretty charming here. I actually cared about them surviving, unlike in the first one. They aren't the most deep out there, but Frenchie in particular was actually a pretty fun character to watch and I legit cared about him getting rescued from Valak's possession.
Now I will also not deny this movie is not great by any means. There's some fun aspects of it, but I agree on there being way too many plot conveniences. The amount of jump scares is definitely tiresome as well. It was also obvious this film was inspired by The Conjuring 2, especially with inserting another demon at the climax. Michael Chaves does not have the directing chops of James Wan to make it pay off as well as it could have. My eyes also rolled right up to the ceiling with the mid-credits scene that implies a fourth Conjuring is on the way. It's amazing how this franchise has managed to survive on mediocrity for the most part.
I waited to watch this until after I watched the nun 2 and i finally did. I actually enjoyed it! mostly for the same reasons you did, including the new entity we see for a little bit; easily my favorite thing. I watched the nun in theaters and it was a total let down so my expectations for this were like.. below rock bottom. Luckily with my expectations so low it made this movie so much better. A lot of stuff was corny in the sense of being overplayed/predictable but there were a lot of visually striking scenes that made up for that (for me at least). All in all, i do agree with your review pretty much completely except for the fact that I actually quite liked it despite everything. Not sure where i would rank this in the conjuring universe movies but definitely above the nun.
Yaayy had been missing your face! YT hadnt recommended a vid for a while, its like seeing an old friend. Your vids are always such a lovely comfort watch. And its the CUTEST thing you talking about your daughter! Awesome to see the YT fam making a family of their own ❤ rant over haha
SOMEONE PLEASE BREAK DOWN TO ME WHY THEY KEEP SHOWING THE SCENE from insidious with the nun in the hallway ???? What does that scene has to do with the nun movie ??!!?? And at the end of the movie they showed renai and Josh answering a phone call
Okay I guess you are confused about the movie.
It's the Nun, has nothing to do with Insidious.
The caracthers in the end are Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Maybe you are confusing Patrick Wilson, as he plays Josh in Insidious and Ed in the Conjuring franchise :)
I remember valek being introduced in The Conjuring 2. She horrified me to the point I couldn’t sleep. I was thrilled when the first nun was announced, but ended up disappointed. I’m like how did they give this garbage movie to this amazing character. The Nun 2 I’ll wait for streaming or matinee showing.
It's probably because they gave as little amount of backstory on her in the Conjuring 2 and whenever you try to extrapolate on a character that was made to be vague and mysterious, it can only end poorly. If there's anything I've learned about watching horror all these years is the more you learn about a horror antagonist, the less creepy they become.
WGA member. On strike. Nothing wrong with reviewing these films in the least, imo. No judgement with that. The Nun franchise on the other hand... lots of judgement. I didn't think it could be worse than the Nun; but it is. Only went to see it because I was told it was much better, and the atmosphere looked quality in the trailer. The first nun was stupid on stupid, but entertaining in a 60s Hammer film kind of way. The Nun 2 isn't even a movie. It's a string of horror flick 101 set pieces (outside of the magazine stand moment) without a rumor of a whisper of character development or stakes with which to give a crap about. And yes, jump scares are lame. Especially when it's one cliche' jump after another. After seeing Talk To Me - which, like It Follows, - set the bar higher, the Nun 2 didn't even attempt to reach it.
I love Anna bell movies ❤😊
It will be nice if you and spookyAstronaut (Emma)make a collab
I will say that was the scariest goat since Black Phillip 😆
I feel like this one had more going on than the first.
The Conjuring peaked at 2.
I liked the first Nun O.K. and I will buy this physical when it comes out. Good review and cool video Sarah!👉😃👈
Honestly more excited for Saw x
I might end up seeing The Nun 2 in the cinema purely as I have an unlimited cinema card. Would have waited for streaming otherwise.
this movie sucked 👎👎 BTW you are stunning 😍
Have you ever seen Ginger Snaps Back?
They were okay, I agree cash grab spin offs. I personally find films with multiple jump scares to be cheap, or at least a sub category of horror I call lazy horror. I think the only jump scare that is ever validated is the antagonist reveal jump scare or a well placed shock jump scare like the windshield at the start of the descent .
Went to see the nun 2 with low expectations. There were a couple scenes with good visuals but overall a boring film, was hard to not walk out before the end. Out of 10 , 1 out of 10 , valak is a great character and has so much potential.
' that movie is such a nothing movie ' nail on the head, that movie was sooo nothing
Nice to hear another person say they loved Annabelle Comes Home. I loved that one too but it seems few others did.
Shoehorned....that's actually a great description of The Nun entries in the franchise.
Better than the first for sure. -scott
I enjoyed the little bit of carnage with the kills but otherwise it was a meh movie for me ! I hope the next conjuring movie is good (whenever that is lol)
you are beautiful 😍
But how does it compare to The Flying Nun ✈😅
Am I the only one who's beginning to think that the 2020's are going to be one of the worst times for horror?
Here's why, I hate how self aware the movies are, due to almost every movie in the 2020's needing to involve phones and social media.
I saw the elevator game (movie) the other day, and it's so obnoxious, because there's a scene where a group of "you tubers" are making a video and the dude literally slips in a sponsor.
Like, I'm looking for a movie for the purpose of wanting to get away from that, but even in films I'm being bombarded with pretentious sponsorhip glorifications.
They also constantly brings up tik tok. Or the camera suddenly switches to a selfy cam, you know, stuff like that just gives me the impression that the director is screwing around. Makes it feel like it's not a movie.
I get that they're trying to capitalize on something common, everyone uses their phone, 95% of people have tik tok.
Everyone in the early 2000s used Vhs tapes l, so everyone was scared to put a tape into the vcr, because of the ring.
But the social media horror is soo hard for me to take seriously.
All the movies in the Conjuring universe seemingly have the same formula and try to pull off the same jumpscare set ups and payoffs. Once you've seen one, you've seen them all as they feel completely indistinguishable from one another. From a matter of scare factor I mean.
Hollywood is falling apart now I'm very happy 😀👏
