The "Longlegs" marketing is some of the best I've ever seen for a horror movie! I saw the trailer for it before "Immaculate" and left the movie still thinking about it.
I'm so thrilled that Robert Eggers' Nosferatu has finally come to fruition this year. 🖤🦇
hot take (maybe??): reading the book AFTER watching the movie is so much better. Character and scene visualization is more fun and coming across scenes in the book that weren’t in the movie is so exciting. It’s like finding a $20 in your pocket
this is how i feel!
agreed
That’s such a great take! I might try this next time 😊
This is a hot take but a good one
I'd agree it's a fairly hot one. If I'm going to both watch a movie and read the book it's based on, I'll always try and go book-first, especially with genre media.
This is because if I've seen the movie version first, I'll never have access to the "pure me" version my own head would have manufactured reading the book cold: I really value seeing how I visualize a story on my own, without the influence of outside visual prompts, and then being able to compare that with the movie's vision of the same story.
Take Dune for instance: because my parents handed me the book before I saw any film/TV adaptations, I have my own ornithopters, my own sandworms, still suits, guild highliners, etc.
That said, taking in both versions is a great way to get more depth out of your media regardless of the order you do it in
You’re such my comfort watch on youtube, love your videos
Me too, she's part of my top 3 horror movie youtuber, watching her is like watching a friend do what she loves the most ❤
🙌🙌🙌
Me too!
When it comes to a Strangers remake/reboot/sequel/whatever, I feel like once "Because you were home" is out of the box, you can't... put it back in, ya know.
My thoughts exactly and why I think the new trilogy just doesn’t work
@@PossessedbyHorror I’m over this trilogy nonsense. I know we aren’t talking high art here, but it’s such a cynical and transactional approach to filmmaking. Also I agree about Madeline Petsch’s acting! In the trailer, the way she delivers the line “I think you have the wrong house” was so cringe. And elephant in the room: am I the only one who finds her lips distracting? I just can’t. 😼
title: horror movies you should be excited about
sarah on the crow remake and maxxxine: i'm not excited about it
😂
I mean we’ll have to wait & see if FKA Twigs’ acting won’t push the movie down. Hopefully she won’t be in too much of it
@@packedentertainment2866 ???
Am I the only one not excited for a quiet place?
I'm definitely not interested lol
Two people
We are getting so close to the release of Maxxxine and it’s still my most anticipated horror movie of the year. I just can’t wait to see how this trilogy concludes and what possible route Ti West would want to go since he said he’s open to making new movies in this universe.
Also some details regarding smile 2 has been released with a pop star at a concert sees all of her audience members smiling at her so she offs herself in front of everyone and how we know this curse works it’ll be interesting to see what will happen when it’s done to this scale. So I’m very excited for it.
In the original Speak No Evil, the two families speaking different languages was crucial to the storytelling. The protagonists AND the viewer are alienated by not understanding the spoken Dutch (unless you do speak Dutch, of course!) The remake is going to lose so much just by being in all English.
My hope is that the English version will make people curious about the original and watch it
This year is SO stacked for horror!
I've been looking forward to Robert Eggers' version of Nosferatu since 2015. After it was postponed again for the processes of both The Lighthouse and The Northman, I can't express how jubilant I am to finally see it has a release date. I think Robert Eggers' style is perfect for a Nosferatu remake
I think the Trap twist is gonna be that the daughter is the killer and the dad is protecting her
Exactly what I was thinking
I am beyond excited for Nosferatu. Anything Robert Eggers creates will be at the top of my list. Alien: Romulus a close second.
Haven't seen a lot of new horror yet this year but Late Night With the Devil was SO good!!
The original Strangers is incredible. Please rewatch. I think you will appreciate it.
Yes, Bryan Bertino is an underrated gem of a talent 👏
before even watching this video, i just want to say that i’m so obsessed w how they’ve been releasing the trailers for long legs. i keep rewatching them and trying to analyze each frame to see if i can predict anything that can happen in the film, but w each new trailer, it just raises more questions. it makes me immensely excited for how it’s going to turn out, especially since they never show what nicolas cage, who is the presumed killer, is actually like in the movie, they just reveal short portions of his voice. the trailers are just so ominous, cryptic, and unsettling-they exceed my expectations for what horror trailers should be like and i’m sure the film will exceed my standards and quickly become a favorite of mine as well.
Love the eyeshadow matching your shirt, Sarah!
I’m SO excited for The Watchers, I loved the book. Definitely try to read it before the movie comes out!
I’m so excited for long legs and Terrifier 3 ❤❤❤❤
I’m so excited to see The Watchers. Just finished the book yesterday and it was so gooooood
You mentioned the movie High Tension I would definitely recommend you check that out but be prepared for its brutality!
It was one of my favorite movies…until it wasn’t.
Unrelated to the subject: love the pop of green in your eyeshadow. Ties nicely with the Green Room shirt.
I have a feeling the second half of the year is gonna serve horror like 2022 did. 💞
I read The Watchers because I heard it was going to be a movie with Dakota Fanning. It was good.
Can't wait for In a Violent Nature, Longlegs, MaXXXine, Terrifier 3 and Robert Eggers' Nosferatu.
I Saw the TV Glow isn't straight-forward horror, but there are definitely chilling scenes of surreal horror! I've seen it three times and loved it more each time.
I'm most excited for The Watchers, Longlegs, and Cuckoo! 😍
Horror adjacent, but who's going to see Furiosa in theatres??? 💖💖💖
I would like to but unfortunately all theaters around here closed down so will have to wait for it physical!😭
I'm looking forward to Furiosa.
Mostly for Anya Taylor Joy.
@@robk.6591Agreed. I’m not a huge Mad Max fan, but for Anya, I’ll happily check it out.
Horror adjacent? How?
Its not horror at all its just a violent action sci fi
When IMDb list an earlier date, that's often a limited release date, or sometimes even the date it premiered at a festival
Genuinely appreciative of your videos, thank you for keeping us informed 🥰
The Watchers is a phenomenal book! I'm so happy to see it getting more mainstream attention now that the movie is coming out.
I'm excited for your exorcism movies ranking!
I'm sooooooooo excited for MaXXXine, we'll just have to agree to disagree when it comes to movies or shows set in the 80s, it's my age I know but I love the 80s I grew up in the 80s, if something is set in the 80s that is the first breadcrumb that could trap me
My favorite so far in 2024 has definitely been Abigail. Most looking forward for Long Legs and Cuckoo. Also excited for The Strangers Chapter 1 but skeptical of how they three part series will go
I'm flabbergasted you haven't seen High Tension. One of my favorite horror movies of all time. ❤
Love this video ! and the way sarah said how infuriating / disturbing speak no evil the foreign one was and her facial expression is gold
Love her❤😁
And I loved this video!!!
I love ‘The Watchers’ (book) - intrigued about the movie!
When you said ‘we’re nearly halfway through the year’ I was like ‘No we’re not!’ Then I thought about it and yep. Yep we are!
the green eyeshadow looks really good!
Nosferatu is my anticipated horror film of 2024
I loveee these videos! So excited for this year
i like reading book versions after movie versions so i'm not as disappointed, since as you mention, the book is generally better 🙂
Abigail is my favourite so far this year. Saw it for my birthday and absolutely loved it! Fun and didn’t take itself overly seriously but still had some awesome scenes (particularly love the dance scene with Sammy/Kathryn)
Thank you very much!
Saw In A Violent Nature at a film festival a couple months back and... it's honestly MORE brutal than people are saying. Like I don't think any description of that film's gore would do it justice.
👀👀👀 I’m excited I had a feeling it’s actually going to be really gory!!! Is it Terrifier gory ?
So excited for Jane Schoenbrun projects!
OMG! Im glad you're doing this again! I kept checking on your video to see the movies that are coming this year! Your video always made my day better ❤
I want to see Nosferatu, MaXXXine, and The Strangers Chapter 1!!!! My current favorite movie to come out so far is Abigail!!!
Ngl Longlegs has me by the balls, the trailers and marketing for it have me shivering my timbers and i know for a fact that i will not sleep for a few nights after watching it regardless
Hey everyone
Shelby Oaks, Cuckoo, and Longlegs are my most anticipated!
I'm hopeful for MAXXXINE! The 80s in very much overdone especially in movies and TV shows. But Mia Goth and TI West have a formula figured out and let's hope this caps off their trilogy well enough it won't upset fans.
So far this year my favorite horror movie was Abigail, so good I had to see it twice in one weekend. Love vampires and quirky ensemble casts
Love these videos!
So excited!!
Me watching A Quiet Place: Day 1 trailer: I’m worried about the CAT
Same! I'm not going to see it until I can check if the cat is okay 😭
So many movies to be excited about!!!❤❤
Awesome video yay
My two favourites of this year were 100% Abigail and Late night with the devil !!! I just thought both of those movies were amazing to me. That being said I’m very excited for The Strangers part 1 on Friday as those 2 movies hold a special place in my heart.
Mine is with Abigail in my opinion
@@ResidentLadyWolf0924 it’s just sooooo good
Oh my gosh I loved Abigail
@@amberm870 honestly same, SOOO much. It’s toooooo good.
Anyone know other movies similar to Abigail??
I really enjoyed the first omen! I'm excited for long legs as well. Also so cool to hear about the Kickstarter movie funding. So cool!
By far most excited about Shelby Oaks!! I hope Iget to see it this year!
Loved the vibes of I Saw the TV Glow and the soundtrack is phenomenal. Has been on repeat📼
The fact she doesn’t see in a violent nature is basically friday the 13th blows my mind
Love the updates! Cant wait for Strangers this weekend I feel so starved!
I'm a HUGE movie lover/fanatic and aspiring actress. Horror movies are my absolute favorite movie genres. I'm so excited to watch all these movies! ❤❤❤❤
High Tension is really good.
At this point you do even have to watch the strangers in order just choose which plot sounds the most interesting 😂
Lmao true
LOVE UR SHIRT
Favorite movie of the year so far is The First Omen! ✝
I think three in a year could work (if they are good) because I really like fear street being released back to back on Netflix!
Enjoyed this alot
THE SUBSTANCE with Demi Moore sounds amazing
When you showed a bit of the trailer of I saw the tv glow, i inmeadiately thought about We're all going to the world's fair, it gave me those vibes, thats the one the caught my attention the most🙌🙌 looking forward to see The watchers as well👀👀
The First Omen has been my favorite movie of the year so far
Another great video. A lot of horror movies in 2024.
Until now my fav horror movies of the year:
- H. P. Lovecraft's the Old Ones
- Room 0 (more of a scifi, but with threatening connotations)
On my watchlist but not seen yet:
- Slay
On my "in production" and "waiting wild release" list:
- The Primevals
- Spirit Riser
- Cuckoo
- Pandemonium
- The Well
- The Watchers
- Hotel Inferno 4-6
Have a couple more with no release-date in sight, so won't list those.
I’m excited for Longlegs. Atmospheric, moody horror with themes of the occult definitely does it for me. I think Nosferatu is going to be great too. And I predict the twist in Trap will be somehow tying it to the Sixth Sense.
I saw an article that they showed a teaser for Smile 2 at Comicon and it focuses on the curse reaching a female popstar and turns her world upside down! Cautiously excited but seems like a really cool premise!!!
Just saw The Watchers 2 nights ago. Ishana did great! The ending was a lil interesting… but it definitely is a start and I’d love to see her do more horror!
The First Omen, I need to watch it again 💕 New comfort movie for sure, along with The Exorcist and Suspiria (2018)
I haven’t seen too many new releases this year, but I really enjoyed Abigail!
As much as I'm excited to see these movies, I'm More excited to see your videos on them ❤
Saw In A Violent Nature at the Chicago Critics Festival. 6.5/10 and there is a very brutal kill in it. Two people walked out
Going to see that when it’s released!!!
I am so shocked you haven’t seen High Tension!!!!
The watchers book is so good please read before watching!
The A. M. shine books is amaaazing - I binged it in two days. Thoroughly recommend reading it.
You should watch high tension! Sure you would love it.
I think , for me , Abigail is going to take some beating , loved that film . Late Night with the Devil was great too and Immaculate was well acted and directed . Looking forward to Alien blowing their socks off ...........We live in hope !!
What the heck. I didn’t know that had Green Room shirts. That’s so rad
I am so ready for The Strangers this weekend
I wasn't expecting to like The Strangers Prey At Night and ended up loving it so maybe this reboot will surprise me again. Super excited for Longlegs, The Watchers and Cuckoo.
Totally agree that longlegs is the most exciting thing to come this year!
I didn't enjoy The Strangers but I did love Pearl and X so I'm obviously down to watch Maxxxine 🤩 I think there's something so unique about these movies but I can't explain what. I just love them and Mia Goth is phenomenal.
I'm SO excited for Longlegs, that's the one movie I 100% need to make it out to the theaters to see
so many promising movies this year, i'm very excited
my most antecipated is for sure Cuckoo, i've been waiting for years, but i'm also very excited to watch Longlegs, Nosferatu, Maxxxine and Terrifier 3
Alien and this new Alexandre Aja one both look very interesting too, i'm seated!
about my favorite movie of the year thus far, it's actually Lisa Frankenstein. does it count as horror? if not, my favorite is The First Omen, i was blown away by that one!!!
I’m almost finished with “The Watchers” book and it is sooo good I got it after I seen this video and I don’t read books like ever and I flew through this book it’s sooo good and scary 😱 I’m obsessed pls do a book to movie comparison if you ever get the time cause I’ve never been so excited for a movie and the cast and just everything A.M. Shine like it’s gonna go off
Cool Green Room shirt!
I am SO EXCITED for all the Strangers movies. I like Home Invasions. In movies not realities. Also, Horrorscope appears to be on amazon now, for like 5.99 but I cannot figure out if it's the correct one. If you do kindle, its also KU, so I snagged it and I also wanted to let you know.
The only horror movie I kinda liked so far this year is Late Night with the Devil, but I thought it was just okay. The second half of the year looks a lot more exciting. I can't wait for Maxxxine, Terrifier 3, Alien Romulus and Nosferatu, in particular
10:26 we need MORE MORE MORE of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Best part of the movie imo
Oooh I hadn’t heard about Nosferatu yet but that cast has me super excited!
My most anticipated is definitely longlegs
The Watchers book is great! I’m so excited for the movie
