    Here's an insane theory. Art is sienna's dad. He died In the fire and got resurrected as art. He was preparing her to kill him in case he went rampant. Remember, they said earlier that the dad was at one point going crazy, getting violent and seeing things. Art was the only one that could see little girl art , yet somehow sienna and her brother we're able to see her as well 🤔

      It would make more since why Art would just knock her unconscious & leave. And why her Dad did all those drawings. How else would those images get into his head? There could be other reasons, but I like your theory.
      I just now realized why the brother wanted to be Art so badly for Halloween. He was thinking of his father's drawings.

    I don't know if this makes any sense, but the way I understood it was that Art is Sienna and John's dad. After his "death", maybe his psychosis manifested by trying to reenact and make his sketchbook drawings come true. So he becomes Art the clown to make that clown drawing come true. Then he allows Sienna to win over him in the end to make that final sketch of the warrior holding the severed head come true???

    Sienna is my new favorite "final girl."
    I can't recall the last time that I rooted so much for a protagonist not to die. The actress who played Sienna was awesome in this film.
    I love the whole 80s vibes of this movie.
    I hope Sienna and her brother return for Part 3. Also, the pale girl was a nice addition to Art the clown.
    I hope they dive more into who she is in the 3rd installment. We got a small glimpse of who she is in this film. Also, I hope they explain the secrets of who Sienna's father is and how he ties into Art. And why does she have superpowers all of a sudden.
    I'm loving the direction there going with this with the supernatural powers. Sienna was such a badass. Her look is so 80s.
    I can't wait for more Terrifier. Shout out to all the people that were involved in creating this masterpiece.
    P.S. Poor Allie. How was she still alive after all that? 😱

  • @ourladyofperpetualskepticism

    Just one nitpick; in the first movie, Art ties Jenna to a chair and makes her watch him do that one scene. He seems to like torturing some victims psychologically for a while before going for the killing or mutilation. He’s whimsical and mercurial.

    When I went to see it with a friend in theatres, I really loved it. That said, your review is spot on. I love horror films like this, Sleepaway Camp, etc, and Terrifier 2 delivered more gore from the first film. It was crisper, slightly more interesting, and added gore. Fun time all around, and good humor. In the behind the scenes theatre showings did, it was pretty cool to hear the reason behind the new friend for Art. People seemed to have fun filming this movie, though.

  • @shanetheliver

    I kinda got the feeling Art is somehow spiritually connected to Sienna (he may even be the spiritual manifestation of her father, who went crazy and got “abusive toward the end”?) I’m aware that’s a stretch, but who knows. I definitely agree that the final battle was way less suspenseful, because her survival at that point was pretty much certain. Still loved it, though, and Art’s new sidekick gave me the heebie jeebies!

    Notice sienna and the brother can see the ghost girl like art.
    She also saw art in her dreams aka her connection to her dad
    And they made a point to show sienna making her costume by hand every detail she made.
    And art does the same thing with his weapons he makes he hand makes all the items he uses to kill.

    I think the reason he thought she was the only one that can stop him is because of their fathers fore shadowing with his art book, but he doesn't know why other than that..
    The reason I think Art knocks Sienna out then walks away is because he's going for the boy. He has form with that from the first one, where he captures one girl and goes hunting for the 2nd without killing the 1st yet. Maybe he wants to make sure no one gets away..?

  • @mad_pac-man
    @mad_pac-man Před rokem +3

    I honestly thought Art had two options: Stay and dismember Sienna, or get the brother before he managed to escape. It WAS in character for Art when you think of it like that. Sienna was knocked out, she would likely still be around, but little kids like her brother would be faster and sneakier, and he wanted to make sure he got both of them. It did feel a little silly and out of place, but it did make sense with that in mind.
    As to why they don't know? Because she was the one in their dad's book, depicted as killing the demon. She was the 'only one' they thought could do it, because their father had visions. To them, his sketches were prophecy. Why would they know?
    And for the birth scene...We don't know what Art really is. This movie was designed to kind of answer a few questions, but she was possessed by the little friend of Art(hence the glowing eyes), and remember, the little friend is the one who took Art's head off to the darkness at the end of the fight. So it's implied she just got possessed, and impregnated by demonic forces, so Art could be reborn and live on to heal and kill 'next year'

Gore has to be pretty extreme to make me uncomfy, and the chainsaw scene in the first film definitely put me in that spot. While the practical effects for this one were amazing, it didn't feel as real in some ways if that makes sense? **SPOILER COMMENT** Who else thinks Art is Sienna’s Dad?? It was mention that he was starting to be abusive and acting crazy towards the end of his life and since he killed himself by driving into a transformer. Being engulfed in flames and screaming so loudly that he can be heard from “miles” away. This can symbolize him as going to hell and converting into a demonic being and can explain why he doesn’t talk because of his damaged vocal cords. Still don’t know how Sienna was able to get Powers though lol. It sucks that we don’t get a lot of answers in this 2 hour movie. Especially with Art and his killings being drawn into The dad’s sketchbook along with newspapers clippings. Kinda correlates how killers keep “trophies” to remember their victims.

    I'm a sucker for grindhouse cinema so both Terrifier 1 and 2 were right up my alley. A good thing about a movie like this is that no matter how bad the acting is, or how schlocky and absurd the lore of this franchise can get with each subsequent installment, the tone of it doesn't take itself as seriously as some of the more recent slashers have done post-1990s. It's the reason I love movies like Terrifier and not the remakes released in the 2000s and 2010s of 70s/80's classics like Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. Remakes that try so hard to be dark and serious but ultimately fail at being fun and entertaining.

A lot of movies that are supposed to be rated NC-17 are unrated when released . There should be some kind of warning for films released unrated . Yeah that’s child abuse if brought to this film . This movie is on a NC-17 level which currently means no one 17 and under may enter even accompanied by parents . Filmmakers don’t wanna loose money so they release it unrated sad 😞.

    I think you're absolutely right that we shouldn't be taking this movie seriously - it really reminds me of the 5th/6th installments of a lot of 80's slasher franchises, where shit gets weird and there's no explanation as to why. You're just along for the ride, and you have the most fun when you don't think about it. That said, the plot armor REALLY was annoying in that final battle, and I really did not feel any attachment to Sienna 😬

    @B1Kobe0824 Před rokem +1

    That's also one thing about horror that not everything is explained outright. In s franchise there needs to be build up otherwise it leaves it nowhere to go.
    As for the weapons I don't see why a new weapon would need to be used for the last 20 minute battle. But actually there was with the sword at the end.
    At the end there I felt you got it and understood that horror is not to be taken seriously. It is an art form that is surreal and abstract as any painting or structure.
    If you find the unrealistic moments annoying imagine how amazingly dull a 100% realstic movies would be? If that was the case you could say goodbye to several horror sub-genres and films. It would all be narrowed down to crime, suspense-thrillers, and redundant Psycho style slashers that would be less appealing.

    All Hallow’s Eve basically hints that Art the Clown is a supernatural being. I’m not sure if you’ve seen it but it’s a Halloween anthology film where a babysitter and the two kids find a tape in one of their goody bags and they watch the tape. Art is on the tape at some parts and then they show some other demonic beings on the tape as well (like the little girl in Terrifier 2 but she’s not in the movie, just other beings are shown on the tape in that movie besides Art) and then Art pops up in their house after the tape is done. So you watch the tape as the characters are watching it and then the third act is the end of the tape, the kids go to bed, and Art appears in the house (that’s all I’m gonna say). Not sure if a lot of people knew that All Hallow’s Eve introduced Art though. I highly recommend watching All Hallow’s Eve for sure if you wanna see more of Art and see where the character started.

    The gore in the film was definitely extreme and it was the only aspect of the film that served as well as Art The Clown. It was a strange experience.. the rush of the scenes and the way they trigger you we're extreme whilst existing within the realm of the dullest movie I've ever seen. I honestly would go as far to say that pretty much no character scenes actually landed. It can be appreciated but from a level of shock value, which I guess you can say is art as well. It would've been nice to see a film like this shock you but also grab you within the realm of story and character development and this film did not execute that.
