  • Hey guys! Welcome back to the channel. Today we take a look at a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD w/ a 6.0l V8 engine. The customer recently purchased this truck at an auction, but the truck has some problems. Along with the ABS and brake light being on, there is also a message in the cluster for "Service Trailer brake", "Service traction control" and "Service stabilitrak". Using the scan tool we find several codes including Can communication codes, C0050-05 Right rear wheel speed sensor circuit and a P0602 TBCM not programmed. Let's see if we can determine which codes are real and which codes were set by previous mechanics.

I've got a system that puts a pulse in the wire. Then a sensor you run down the length of the harness. when it stops beeping you found your break. its made by power probe and I bought it thru snap-on. Used it many times and it works awesome.

Awesome diag man! I learn so much watching your videos. You lay out the process so clearly and explain the theory behind the problem so that I can learn and follow along. It was reassuring to see a professional decide it's time to just splice in a new wire and end the torture. I'm learning as a hobby how to service cars and I feel like a hack sometimes, a lot of youtube videos make it look so easy which definitely is not the case when I try the same thing. It's really reassuring when you show that things can be less than ideal even for the seasoned pros. Thanks.

Absolute masterclass of automotive diagnostics. I bought a 2012 with abs on. Brand new speed sensor was still throwing a code. I broke out the parts cannon and just changed it to a Bosch and it worked and hasn't came on since. Last guy put on a cheap aftermarket part. I figured it was worth $30 to just throw a new part on and hope. I got lucky

This was a great job. What you were working on was a "water baby", a truck that had been in water and mud at least up to floor level, and if above that, the cabin was cleaned up really well, where you could not see or smell any traces or water, mud or mildew. Great job, great choice in running the the wire. My only question is in making the splice, did you use a low temp solder connector with heat shrink tubing over it or a crimped butt connector with heat shrink tubing for a water-proof connection, or some other method? Inquiring minds out here, hanging on your answer for the best practical, water-resistant splicing method. The re-programming of that trailer brake module was an excellent lesson in how to do something many of us would never see done or have any idea know how to do. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and diagnostic techniques with your viewers.

Get yourself a Power Probe Ect3000. Connect the signal output to the cable you want to trace and use the receiver to look for the cable along the harness. When the beeping from the receiver stops, that is a general area where the break in the cable happened.

HOW CAN I BE RICH IN STFT AND POOR IN LTFT?ΤHE MAF READING NORMAL AT VOLUMETRIC EFFISIENSY AND IDLE AND 2500 RPM HAVE READING IN THE SPECIFICATIONS
ECU TO CLOOSE LOOP READ THE PRICES OF THE O2 SENSOR AND THE MAF TO REGULATE THE FUEL TRIMS?DO YOU
