- In this video, I test how the MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM LIQUID X graphics card paired with Intel i7 14700KF CPU performs in Horizon Forbidden West. Let's see if it is possible to enjoy the game at 4K, 1440p, or 1080p with maxed out settings, including DLSS 3 and Frame Generation.

What do you think? Is this Intel's fault or game dev's? I think it is reasonable to expect a consistent 120 FPS experience in this kind of game.
It's hard to say. It could be the game is underutilizing the gpu like starfield does or it could just be that the game is very resource intensive and needs a stronger cpu than the 14700.
@@pf100andahalf No it's just thread limited it's probably only using like 8 threads or maybe 16 thread at max.
i'd love if you'll pair the 7800x3d from now onwards with rtx 4090 in ur future game fps test videos..that way there would be minimal chances of bottleneck...as always loved ur video..
dude im looking at this video on 55 4k TV.. your video is all blrry, what resolution youve been using? 1080p upscaled to 4k?
bro you are watching it on CZcams its not gonna look as good as actually looking it at the monitor with your eyes youtube compression is shit.
Yup. CZcams compression is killing the quality. Original videos are much higher quality.
It's a pretty nice looking setup iVadim. i9 intel 14900k and it will be golden. What kind of Keyboard it that? Cheers!
I doubt 4 more E cores and +300 MHz on the Ps would make such a difference gaming.
@@CallOFDutyMVP666 The 14900k or the 7800X3d are already CPU limiting the RTX 4090. I'm actually curious to see the next gen CPU's and what might they do to help eek out a little better performance with the 4090. The 14700k is doing a decent job and not many will notice using it.
Thanks!🙂 I'm getting the 14900K next week. It'll be interesting to explore if there is a significant difference between the i7 and the i9 when paired with the 4090. The keyboard is a recently launched model by Akko. I've made a video about it - czcams.com/video/NW-z7PKdJa0/video.html
It's an amazing keyboard. Very expensive tho😄 Well over $200.
@@theivadim Thanks man.
Hey, that's the same 4090 I have just paired with a 7950X3D, ASrock Tiachi Carrara X670E & 64 GB of DDR5 6000mhz CL-36-36-36-96 G.Skill Z5 series.
Works great
Good stuff! I hope you're enjoying it?
amazing stuff have the same setup as you but I have the 4080S
@theivadim I love it.
The only problem is if I try pbo for the cpu, I'll bsod like crazy.
Still way faster than my 9700k I replaced
@@xVertigo101 is your motherboard BIOS up to date? Sometimes an update fixes some stability issues. It's worth checking and trying PBO again if you are after more performance.
@theivadim yeah, latest as of February.
When it functions, cpu fps in timespy goes from 42 fps to 59 fps without much effort.
- curve optimization at -5 all cores results in critical process died and some other errors
Nice set up 👍. The 50 Serires is coming out this year and supposedly it will 20 % faster.
Thanks!🙂 After underwhelming 40-series I expect to see more than 20% uplift even at the bottom of the 50-series lineup. But it will depend on competition. If there is no competition then NVIDIA will simply do more of the same. Small performance uplifts across the board.
60% faster in rasterisation and up to 2.5x faster in rt for 5090 v 4090.
@@theivadimand with AMD possibly ditching the high end of the market, nvidia will have little competition.
thats a rumor , it is not true! lets wait for more rumors
@@sandronejm specs are leaked it’s very close certainly not 20% do your research.
The latest Nvidia driver puts more work on the CPU, so I rolled back and got better performance and way lower CPU temps. Great video👍🏼
hahaha it's excellent congratulations (I laugh bcsuse usaid its not great XD) I have a 4070 Ti Super and 12700k and i'm enjoying a lot and I know it's not great but its excellent ! I'm interested in upgrade to 5080 I think this generation still lacks some strenght
Indeed, this generation still has less than ideal ray tracing performance. I think this technology will be the main driving force when it comes to next-gen GPU sales.
I would limit this at 90 fps and play with native settings bcs when cut scenes come fps drops to much. 90 or 120 same thing in this kind of games..
what do you think 4k or 1440p was better ?
I choose 4K. I play this game at 4K even when I'm using my personal RTX 4070 SUPER.
my 4090 with I913900KF smooth and stable
That's great! I hope you're enjoying the game🙂
Hi, you need oc your ram 7200mhz+
The RAM kit I have is pretty good as is. Low latency makes it high-performance. But I hear you. Indeed, it would be interesting to see how much difference faster RAM would've made. However, I still have to buy a faster CPU first. That would provide the biggest performance difference in this case.
its not a cpu bottleneck cpu load is at 46 to 50 percent at 4k and gpu is also not being fully utilized even though this game is optimized well same problem in 1440p as well i still think it needs more work from the devs as the hardware this powerful is still not being fully utilized. i7 14700k and i7 14700kf is a powerful processor.
Indeed, that could be the case. However, the fact is that a faster CPU would be able to brute-force it to deliver higher FPS.
I'll check it soon. I'm getting a 14900K to test that. Could be a good topic to explore in a more in-depth video comparing different CPUs.
next time instead of buying a 4090 save your money and buy a case so you can put the fans of the gpu INSIDE the case just saying ...
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D - $449 United States Dollars VS Intel Core i7-14700K - $420 United States Dollars.. you cheaped out over $29.. really?
if you just want to game i would go for amd ryzen 7800x3d as it offers a bit better performance but not in all games and if you want a good gaming experience and more like productivity i will definitely go for a i7 14700k as its a way more powerful processor over all.
He doesn't want that amd dip
