Since you started the show and you had those judgments of Howard, I could not wait for this episode and your reaction to it. Also, love the way you don’t even let those viewers down play the stuff he used to do.
When I first started this show, Howard becoming my favourite of the guys, was something I never thought would happen, but this episode sealed it for me.
Howard and Amy are by far my favourite characters from season 5 and onwards
@@hmp01 Amy definitely became more relatable once she stopped being a female version of Sheldon and became more individualized.
Howard was always my favorite, i like jerk characters like him as long as they face consequences, which is his case
It is a very well done arch
@@vetarlittorf1807 that was why I didn't like her, at the beginning
The warning signs were there that’s pretty much on you 😂😂 Penny is not wrong here but she still could have warned Berny even if Howard had to die alone! Lol
I love your reactions make the whole series more enjoyable.
I also think that Howard getting married and moving out of his mom's house changed him for the better. I hate to blame women for men's bad behaviour but in this case I think Howard's mom made him the person he was at the beginning of the show (she literally treated him like a baby and even cut his food for him). You can see that now that his mom doesn't have influence on him anymore and now that Bernadette influences him he is caring, respectful, good friend to girls in the group and overall so much more emotionally inelligent. He is my faviourite character in TBBT now.
I could not wait for you to get here! As the show progresses and you see the changes that happen for each character, it's very satisfying...almost. No spoilers...but there is one character change I completely disagree with, but that's far in the future and a discussion for after it happens.
What character change do you disagree with? I would love to know because I have some of those as well.
I don't wanna know really, but I think I know, cause I have mixed feelings abt one character change too... (besides Howard, it's one of the biggest changes) but no spoilers indeed 🤐.
@@queenofneverland9007 I don't want to say as it's too big of a spoiler!
Sailor Moon is definitely not a children’s cartoon.
Whether it was “borderline incest” is debatable as some relatives are too distant to be considered genuine incest.
The English Dub of Sailor Moon was definitely positioned as a children's cartoon on Cartoon Network in the late 90s, though. I know, because that was my first exposure to it. They had "Sailor Says" segments at the end that defined the moral of the week and made their deaths in the Season 1 finale look like they had been "trapped in the negaverse". And of course the infamous change of Uranus and Neptune to cousins instead of lesbians, which is kind of hilarious considering what Howard did with his cousin...
Anyway, this might be the version Amy and most Big Bang Theory viewers were familiar with. The guys, however, would likely be familiar with the original anime so they would know better, but they weren't there for that convo.
@@kateorgera5907 So because of censorship? I get it, Yu-Gi-Oh! was done the same hence why there’s a “Shadow Realm”, when the original sub and especially the manga were a lot darker.
@@ghostspider2056 Well, censorship and overall Americanization, yeah. Cartoons for adults beyond The Simpsons and South Park weren't really a thing in America back then, so anything animated that wasn't graphically violent or inappropriate (which, for Sailor Moon, was easy enough to edit out) was automatically aimed at children. Even now, there's a stigma that any animation that isn't overtly adult is for kids in the West, which Amy seems to subscribe to (she also deems Sheldon's nerdy collectibles as "for kids", even the ones from more adult works)
Agreed concerning Sailor Moon. This has been happening with anime as far back as the 1970's. The cartoon mostly known as Battle of the Planets or G-Force (it's had many names in US versions over the years) was vastly changed. Graphic violence and the inclusion of a gender changing character were omitted. I don't know if calling Berg Katse from the original Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (known as Zoltar in the US version) transgender is correct, but some do. The character does switch genders, but was essentially a mutant comprised of twins (one male and one female) who at times could not control the switching. Later on, Katse gained control and could do it at will. That concept was considered too close to being transgender for American audiences, especially children, in the 70's. They explained it away in BOTP by introducing the female Katse as a totally different character, Zoltar's sister. With Star Wars being all the rage then, they also added an R2-D2 like character who appeared before and after commercial breaks. The character was basically used to fill in all the time breaks from the heavy editing and allow the show to have a proper run time.
Bernadette’s angry look in the car made me want to hide behind the couch
The Big Bang Theory (Physics' Historical Event) = The Growth of the Universe.
The Big Bang Theory (The Television Series) = The Growth of Nerdom! 😁👍
I've finally caught up with your reaction for this show. Now I have to wait week by week, dang it
I guess no one told bernie about all of this.
Maybe before declaring Howard's redemption arc complete wait until you see him with beautiful women around and Bernadette not there to notice. Plus, the other thing that made Howard unlikable is the way he mistreats Raj, and that has not changed.
Howard used to be the character I hated because he was a creepy pervert. But once he became a loving family man, he became my favorite while I started to hate Sheldon for being a narcissist, Leonard for being a pushover and Raj for being a harmful gay stereotype.
So guys cant be a gay sterotype?
@@paulthealien8028 No. There shouldn't be any stereotypes.
@@vetarlittorf1807 you realize sterotypes come from real life? There are gay guys just like that i have met them. Maybe you should get out more. Also Raj is not gay.
Yeah, uh...Raj is not gay. Though wish they didn't make fun of him liking traditionally "feminine" things. Still, he's not gay, and therefore not a gay stereotype.
@@DisneyFanatic2364 And yet he admitted that he enjoyed cuddling naked with his friends at the north pole. He also made out with Howard twice. First time was accidental but he enjoyed it and the second time was intentional and he was aroused by it.
And what's so far fetched about him being a gay stereotype when the show already relies heavily on racial and gender stereotypes? The only reason they didn't have Raj come out of the closet is because it would take away his comedic hook.
A great episode. tbf to Penny in a previous ep during a Howard/Bernie breakup, Penny did pause and ask Bernie if she was absolutely sure Howard was the one. While she didn't throw him under the bus, she definitely was highlighting it as an opportunity to think twice. Howard's overall arc is great. Actually most of them are, which makes the show so enjoyable.. though Bernie scares me a little
Jeepers that’s yucky!
Honestly the situation with Stuart isn't even funny. It's just all sad 😂 Idk why I put a laughing emoji then. And of course Amy being down bad as usual.
The Stewart story is getting too Alan Harper for my taste, you can see Chuck Lorre type of humor, like this guy is broke and depressed, lets add some laugh track and it will be great. Also I do enjoy dark humor but that stuff is just not funny
I think Howard always knew how to behave toward women. He was just too desperate to care about the rules. His grossness was always about getting some action. Now that he has that, he doesn't need the old lines.
Yeah sure, that definitely excuses his actions!
Wanting to dump your partner for the people they slept with in the past is not outdated I guess, of you're a female that is 😅😪
I know I'm in the minority but I so wanted better for Howard than to marry a more arrogant, condescending and nasty version of his mom, could have expanded the character more, just for a minute reverse genders and have him saying the same lines to her, I'm a female and wouldn't think it was funny either, I know, it's only tv but it's ok we all think differently anyway love the reaction and erc!
Bernadette didn't really get like that until later, though. And Howard slacked a bit in terms of childcare himself, neither is perfect
