I really want to see what Billy is doing. Canonically re0 is first on the resident evil timeline, and it would be cool to see what our escaped con hero is up to.
I just want the games to acknowledge Billy at all; even a cameo.
There’s not a lot of evidence to back up this theory, but I have seen people speculate that Billy was transformed into Nemesis, which is kind of interesting. I know this idea is primarily taken from the Paul W.S. Anderson films where the character, Matt, from the first film is taken and transformed into Nemesis by the second film. It’s just a cool little theory I’ve heard people talk about. I definitely want to see Billy in the future though!!
I don't think Billy will ever come back. For me his story pretty much ended with RE 0 - the convicted murderer who escaped his fate to be executed because Becca told everyone he was dead. He is probably in hiding somewhere, possibly with a new identity and that's that.
Although I did always wonder if the massacer in Africa he was involved in had anything to do with Umbrella's uroboro experiments there ...🤔
Honestly all four sound cool to get their own game. A backstory on Yoko would be interesting as well.

Sherry is my favorite RE character. She’s a very unique character and highly underrated. I’m glad you agree her own game could be so interesting, both in gameplay and story.

Capcom have made some money off the last few releases. They need to go back to the drawing board and experiment to see what the future of this franchise should be, kinda like how they did way back in the early 00s when they developed RE4 and accidentally Devil May Cry

Ada and HUNK should have the next spinoff. We need a title from a villain’s perspective that actually supports the lore and criminal underworld RE has established.
So many rival companies, shadow states, mercenaries, and sold viruses that Capcom hardly explain why they’re always sought after and why there’s a network of companies seeking to exploit them.
Thus why a game with Ada or HUNK would actually depict the unfolding of conspiracies and countermeasures we hardly ever see as a hero character.
Essentially like Operation Raccoon City but substantial work on the lore to fit into the mainline.

There is such a wealth of characters and lore that the series could go into! I personally think it would be cool to see more of Tricell - Have Excella meet Wesker and work with him to ascend the company - have Raymond and Jessica go on missions for them - Have Alex Wesker cause havoc along with her brother! There are so many characters that could carry a story!

The reason that this is weird is cause RE8 had only had one game largely 7 to build up on, it's why people prefer some of old lore back when it just Umbrella and the Wesker's fucking the world over as apposed to the weird Connection villains that weren't even 8 🤣
Destroying Raccoon city was like saying "Lets Blow up Silent Hill" both locations are so iconic and RE has never been able to find such a setting again.
The destruction of Raccoon City led the franchise to go a narratively dark direction. The Raccoon City survivors are half dead because they don't even have a city to return to!🧠🎮😆

Honestly all those 4 characters have a lot of potential to be the protagonists of their own games, and even characters like Ark Thompson or Bruce McGivern (especially Bruce) would be great to be seen again
I would say it is about time Hunk had his own game. I had an interest in the character ever since his original appearance in resident evil 2 on the PlayStation. I would love to get a resident evil from his perspective.

Definitely would go with Kevin because would love to see more of the outbreak timeline - from the perspective of inner raccoon city when the outbreak occurs for a normal resident- and with Kevin could have more insight in the chief of police corruption - causing deliberate confusion and chaos alongside the zombies. Definitely more small scale survival horror orientated though and not as action movie-y

I think the appeal of HUNK for me is a character that is absolutely prepared for fighting BOWs. Most of the protags are never prepared which is great for horror games but I imagine a HUNK focused game would be a spin off and be in the vein of something like Doom where you get that power fantasy of being a character that is unstoppable. Which could be fun as a Budget RE title. But I dont think him as a full blown protag would work. He's better off as a playable in certain sections type of character.

I'm not a HUNK fan myself, but I think his appeal is that he is a combination of a few different elements that people tend to enjoy: he is a quiet, stoic type, which is a very popular archetype, stoicism is often perceived as a sign of emotional, psychological and physical strength, because the character is seemingly unshakeable; he is a humble grunt who survives and succeeds despite everything that is thrown at him, which gives the character a mystique and makes him a bit of an underdog that people can root for; and lastly, he is a bad guy, and people obssess over bad guys, because it is a form of moral escapism I suppose, it subtly indulges the fantasies people have, they are drawn to strong villains because a part of them wish they were like that, it's the hero (villain) worship of the modern times.
HUNK is a personification of power basically, he is comparable to other popular characters like the Doom Slayer, The Mandalorian, etc.
I wouldn't call Hunk a "bad guy" or "villan" per se, but I agree with you on the other statements.
Claire is the only one of the big 4 to not have her own game. She’s always shared the spotlight. “Jill, Jill, Jill” is all ppl cry about but Claire is the one that really gets done dirty

@@estefanguerrero2371 they should make her pregnant, then get kidnapped by some weird organisation and experimented on, learning that she and her baby is infected with some new strand of virus and her looking for a vaccine, whilst learning that they've been experimenting on other woman and children. It would kinda fit with her character because we've seen her being a "mother figure" to a few children and a teen (Moira) in her appearances throughout the franchise.
So why not make her an actual mother, it would force Capcom to tone down the "action" and more wild stuff, but why not make it a more psychological experience.

I would love a Sherry or Ada game 😭BUT, when it comes to Ada I think it's better to preserve her mysterious persona, we don't even know her real name, Ada could be just some made up name so her identity is kept as a secret - and that's one of the reasons Ada is such a interesting RE icon. I feel very torn about it but it's better to just hope for a Sherry game only rather than uncovering the girl in red dress entirely

Hunk has that same energy as Boba Fett in the original Star Wars, there’s just something inherently awesome about a strong character who is mysterious. Also, the man survived Raccoon City which makes him even cooler. I think a game with him could be really awesome and we got a little taste of it from the 4th Survivor which was so cool but I wish they expanded on it more. Maybe one day.
I always wanted to see Carlos again because growing up on that original trilogy, it felt like he was a significant character and his arc would naturally lead him to wanting to fight with Jill and everyone against Umbrella. Honestly, it would be cool to see him and Sheva paired up because his flirtatious banter meeting her no nonsense vibes could be really fun between fighting various creatures. Likewise, seeing Carlos and Ada interact would be a hoot. I guess this kind of thinking is what fanfiction is for 😂
I will tell you what I like about Hunk and how I would like his game to be (wich is not going to happen). First of all, I love that whole professional vibe. Also I like the fact that it is stated the dude has been in missions where he is the only one surviving, wich means they were pretty dangerous shit but he always managed to come back. Love how on the remake he is extrematelly cool, a normal character would have the reactions of Leon and the rest, but this aint his first rodeo. Also he is technically on the bad side, he is nothing like Nicholai of Wesker, the guys a proffesional, is hired to complete missions and he does them, no emotional attachment of secret goals. That´s why I always found very interesting the whole Umbrella Rising idea, eventhou it was fake bullshit. To make it work you have to keep the character´s mistery, therefore not reveal much about him, the story has to be about the setting where the game is taking place and the rest of the characters. The Umbrella Rising concept is what I would like in a game, a game following 2 and 3 with an outbreak after the Gvirus is succesufully delivered (wich is kind of a big deal).
Calm, collected, skillful and focused fighter, trained for the worst case szenario: Hunk's the kind of guy I'd want by my side in a real life outbreak situation. Even though he'd probably leave me behind if need be...
Also, to me - as a woman - Hunk's the equivalent to Ada for a man: You always want what you can't have.... 😉
My pitch has always been for Carlos to be Josh’s partner in a Resident Evil 5 remake, I feel like he’d fit in the story perfectly. It’d also allow a Carlos-Josh DLC campaign to happen as well, where you could delve into Carlos’s motivations, which would probably be to save Jill by any means necessary.
It'd be cool to see Ashley Graham a few years later as a kind of Aya Brea style character

Billy Coen needs his own game. It would be perfect due to him disappearing after 0. He is strong, resilient and has lots of knowledge of umbrella and has an established connection with Rebecca. The only issue is do we give him a set of games that cover the massive time he has been gone or do we flash forward to current timeline r.e. all in all I think Billy is a prime candidate.
Honestly, I think giving a less popular character their own game is probably the best course of action here, as a full blown project dedicated to a character like Ada or Hunk well, sounds very enticing on paper, but in practice I don't think more mysterious or gray characters would be too much fun for such a project because it'd expose too much about them, which may, or may not do them justice. I'd like to see one, but not sure if it can get better than RE4R's Separate Ways. I also can't imagine a silent character like Hunk would even be engaging or interesting enough to play as, and, besides, what story could a project focused on him even tell, other than an origin story, or something action focused?
As for Ada's nature, actually RE4R is by far not the first time we get a glimpse into her moral spectrum. That was first seen in RE2 in the emotional cutscene where she seemingly falls to her death and talks about how she wished she could get away from all this mess for good (or when she gets injured and insists on Leon leaving her because she has difficulty genuinely caring for someone, for his own good). Then she's constantly avoiding Leon in RE4's Separate Ways, when she could have simply ended him any time given the numerous occurrences and constantly watching his back. And finally RE6, where towards the end, if you shoot zombies on the rooftops with the helicopter for too long, she eventually flies away saying that she'd love to help all those people, but there are simply far more pressing matters. As far as I'm concerned, mysterious or not, I think the label "anti-hero" suits her best. She may not be entirely good given her tumultuous past, but definitely not evil either, despite her true motives remaining unknown.
But, coming back to the topic at hand, I stand by what I said, that a game focused on a more niche character like Carlos (aye, that one was me :p) would be best, and since not a whole lot is established about them, Capcom could do anything, literally, without ruining the mystery surrounding the characters. I do disagree about bombing Raccoon City though. In fact, I find that working in a way quite similar to the bombing of Black Mesa in Half-Life Opposing Force, even Marc Laidlaw (the writer) was thankful for Gearbox doing this in their own game because it greatly helped them move on and let the past stay in the past. I think Raccoon City has enjoyed its stay, we've seen enough of it and been there multiple times from different perspectives, but it's time to move on, just like Umbrella. Yes, Umbrella is iconic and was integral to the franchise in its early days in particular, but we need different stories, characters, and villains. The Umbrella saga has also run its course, from my POV - which, yes, also means I got negative feelings about the Blue Umbrella thingy in RE7, I really do not think it needs to be brought back or reinvented. Let the dead stay dead.

I'd love to see Billy, Carlos, and Kevin in their own game, but he's such minor characters in the total lore that I don't see it happening. Like you said; Ada and HUNK are so beloved because of their mystique. Sherry having her own game is very plausible. With the rumored RE9 teased lately, we'll all find out in a few months.
The question isn't who, the ACTUAL question is when. When should a character get their own game. Can't rush these things, cause if we did, we'd get a Shadow The Hedgehog like game.
I actually enjoyed playing Shadow The Hedgehog but with that said, Capsule Computers definitely needs to yellow light themselves on giving a character their major game in Biohazard: Resident Evil🧠🎮

Marvin. I say make one with Marvin seeing as how he was there to witness Raccoon City go from a thriving city to Hell on Earth. I know he appeared VERY briefly in Resident Evil 2, but it would nice to see how the city made that complete change through the eyes of a cop who witnessed it all.

I would really enjoy experiencing her story not necessarily as a side character, but as a main character who has questions around her as to what kind of woman she was to "make a deal with the devil" (Albert Wesker). I think those questions would be nice to be answered.
However, Hunk would be a character that would be greatly appreciated having a game made about him as well. How/Why did ge get involved with Umbrella in the first place. Was he close with any of his comrades in the beginning of the Resident Evil 2 (the original), & his reaction personally after witnessing them get their asses handed to them by William Birkin. & how did he escape that fate? Plus too, he deserves more "air time" simply because he is a beloved character of the RE Universe, & very little is known about him. Did he loose his family when the outbreak occurred? Whose lives did he have to end to both, survive & to "mercy kill"? What drove him to become a mercenary (Was he a mercenary?)? Capcom could do so much with Hunk, that even if they do a game based on him, there'll still be so much mystery behind him they will still keep the fans guessing. He's just overdue for a game of his own in the franchise; as well as Ada.

The whole obsession with Ada’s mystique has gotten VERY old. Mystery just for the sake of it is never satisfying and it’s used as a crutch at times. Having their own game wouldn’t ruin their mystique and who cares anyway?

I’ve wanted an Ada Wong game for YEARS! GIVE IT TO ME CAPCOM! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!! And I don’t feel having her as a main character would ruin her mystery at all. We don’t need to learn anything about her past or anything like that to follow her on an adventure. The RE4 DLC does just that, just turn it into a 10-15 hour game instead of a 5 hour DLC. And in terms of her motives, those can still remain a mystery, Ada goes where the money is. She doesn’t do things because it’s what she believes in. She’s a spy/agent for hire. There can even be story elements like how the Armoured Core games do it where you can take jobs from opposing corporations/factions. But obv work that into the story that would make sense for the RE gameplay style. What did ruin her mystery was that new ending they added to RE4 that you mentioned. In the original games we never did find out if she delivered the plaga sample to Wesker or not. But I feel there’s enough subtleties in her personality and interactions with Leon throughout the games to get the impression that she’s not an evil person. She’s just a freelance spy/agent doing the job to get the pay. But ya I feel there’s so many ways we could have a full blown Ada game without ruining her mystery.

They main reason people like Hunk is because the mask just adds a mysterious factor to hunk because you wonder what he looks like and is thinking. Plus he seems like a unstoppable soldier
Honestly it should be Billy or Sheva. I’m not counting Sheva in the future RE5 Remake. Sheva was a very cool female character with her acrobatic style meshed well with Chris’s brute style. If Capcom decides to bring Billy back hopefully they redo his personality. They did a fantastic with how Carlos was a likable dude in RE3 Remake compared to his very brash dry humor in the original RE3.
Resident Evil doesn’t really have “characters” so much as it just has generic archetypes designed to be bland enough for mass appeal.
That’s why their defining characteristics are usually their outfits, hairstyles and colour pallets instead of their actual “character”.
A “before the outbreak” game can just be relegated to a straight-to-streaming CG movie. Games are supposed to be fun and engaging to the paying customer, not laborious or exhausting. The most successful games in the series were readily accessible to new players.
I’d do a Hunk game as a spin-off title, but make it a squad-based strategy game where he juices up on the licker-controlling virus from RE Damnnation and controls some BOW’s to take over a fictitious country in order to showcase the inventory for potential buyers. Then have him get betrayed/go rogue at the halfway point. Hijinks ensue, the end. Maybe he ends up a dictator of a minor country as an Albert Wesker 2.0 for you to take down in a further main line RE game.
Like the BOW’s SHOULD have a practical military application beyond just causing general mayhem at some point shouldn’t they? Otherwise Umbrella could have just been spending way less money designing better bombs.
Just to let you know, my brother liked hunk because he seemed like a real badass. Also, the characters I’d like to see with their own spinoff games are Billy, Carlos, Kevin, Ashly, Ark Thompson from survivor, and Bruce McGivern from Dead Aim.

I want a survival horror with some splinter cell, hitman or metal gear-esque style Resident Evil game with Ada Wong. i don't mind if they don't want to reveal about the organization. if that's capcom's decision fine. I just want an Ada full campaign. how cool is avoiding zombies or B.O.W with stealth mechanic just like splinter cell with ada, or use the most 007 gadgets on some zombies. it's hard to pulloff but it's not impossible.

Back when code veronica was new i worked with a guy that was obsessed with Hunk. he wrote fanfiction while at work.
Okay, I definitely see and agree with the points of not wanting to put them in the spotlight too much and taking away the appeal of mystery, but I still love the idea of getting just some more gameplay of the 2 more mysterious characters of Ada and Hunk (I'm more partial to Hunk's character, even though they're both bad or just morally gray, I've never connected with the points that try to make me as a player sympathize with Ada, so I'm just going to choose the cooler of the 2). Even just as a vaguer DLC or something of the sort.
The main protagonist faces off in a run in with (let's say Hunk) and they part ways. Now whether they survive because our protagonist is not a killer and probably unintendedly gives the chance for escape and killing can be avoided on Hunk's part to achieve a faster completion time of his mission, he chooses to just leave. Or just plot armor.
Then in a little dlc or just unlockable optional side mission, you can play as Hunk and just do a small mission that puts a bit of insight as to what he was doing there, but it doesn't have to give away anything about him personally. I don't think capcom has to get personal with that him because any gameplay with him excites the fans of the character and forcing the story to keep him mysterious and hidden (but finally getting a bit more canon gameplay) can be done, and I think it could be a hit.
If there is one thing I want, it’s that whenever Capcom makes the last game in the timeline I think they should bring everyone that’s still alive back, so like Hunk, Carlos, Rebecca, Barry, Jake, Sherry, you get the point. Anyways great video I mostly agree with everyone but I definitely want a Hunk game just because I feel like we need a little bit more of information on him but I want them to still kind of keep everything a secret such as his face, his life before Umbrella, and so on.

Honestly, a Luis Sera prequel on an umbrella laboratory outbreak that ends up him leaving just to be kidnapped by Krauser would be amazing.

Billy Cohen would be dope, a horror game escaping the arkley forest before the Mansion exploded, full of zombies and dogs, a few new types or ones we haven't seen in a while. maybe an encounter under the sewer system that leads to his recapture by umbrella before he could escape for good. Maybe have him come full circle and be the one who was made for the Nemesis program after Lisa Trevor. I'd make him Nemesis from 3 being the one who helped a Stars team member and ex military background super resilient in RE0.

Also keep this in mind the reason that they have not made a game featuring Aida or hunk as the main character is because it's really difficult to combine Espionage with Zombie Apocalypse. They've tried in the past and it failed abysmally I mean best way to look at it would be look at operation Raccoon City. That was an abysmal failure.
I would have loved to see Piers become a regular on RE, but he's dead, so that's a negative. ☹️ (I was hoping, until the very last second, that he would be miraculously saved, But nooo ... Capcom just HAD to kill him. 🫤
Ada has the potential, but she already had a lot of screentime in RE 6 and I think she is too closely tief to Leon to have her own game. So that's a negativ for me.
A Sherry comeback would be cool. Aa an equal partner for Leon or Claire maybe. Then again, I would also love to see her partnered up with Jake again.
Of the 4 choices you gave, my favorit would have to be Hunk, though. His story could provide a totally different perspective. And more insight on Umbrella (or whoever he's working for now.) Exploring the darkside ... Mwahaha!
But seriously, I think it'd also work without giving up too much of the mystery surrounding him.
Ada is long overdue for her own game. Hunk is a blank slate. Developing him any further would ruin the mystery of his character and if you don't develop him then it's difficult to make a good story around him. Simply he is not designed to be a lead.
My heart has long yearned for Lucia to make her triumphant return.
Remember, Isaac never said a word in the first dead space game and that was a classic. Same could be done with Hunk

With Hunk its the Bobba Fett effect. Less is more. That being said Id like him to turn up in a minor role in a future title.
They kinda wasted Sherry in 6 and honestly I don't know what they'd do with her as a main character. I think it would be far more interesting if she were still a little girl, and you're forced to survive an outbreak with improvised weapons and wits, like in RE2 remake.
I voted for hunk because I love the faceless henchmen in tactical gear or the nameless SWAT/Special Forces dudes I find it easier to insert myself into a story through them than the over the top main characters and hunk is like one of those characters come to life

I don't think making a hunk game would necessarily ruin mystery of his character I think a game kinda like an Republic Commando in which hunk is Boss and set in Raccoon City have missions that involve protecting, securing, and covering things up for umbrella (before they decided to nuke the place) and have most of his dialogue giving orders and have his squad do most of the talking perhaps even have them trying to figure who hunk is with no success until they die 1 by 1 until hunk is the last one standing
As much as I love the new characters of the resident evil franchise I would agree that taking a step back from the new characters in franchise such as village/biohazard and using the already existing characters would be a good idea. I love the remakes in the franchise but alot of people especially resident evil veterans have expressed the fatigue of the franchise remakes because there's no new mainline sequels in the franchise. I think if we had a built from the ground resident evil code Veronica as the last remake in the franchise I would be perfectly happy.
I feel sherry having a whole playable campaign in re6 sorta ticks that box, least it does for me personally. now while this would be unpopular with people, id love to see a game where you wake up on the morning of September 28th, and you get 3 in game days to work out your way out of the city. would be really cool to pair up with friends and see about surviving in raccoon city (would make a good roguelike) kinda like how zombi worked. of course this would be a spin off series, not a main line RE game, cos its a little too different. I can imagine it being pretty tense having to try and dodge USS, UBCS, other survivors who may have snapped and decided to make the most of it. and course just getting to the outskirts of the city wont cut it, youre going to need to sneak or fight through a military checkpoint to escape.
and with hunk being the fan favourite, what would be really cool would be a extra minigame, where you do the opposite, your job is to hunt down survivors who might be a threat (stars officers, rebellious scientists (bard comes to mind) and 'sanitize' raccoon city of umbrellas involvement) and with Capcom's current projection they could cram it with battle pass crap, microtransactions and cosmetics (especially if there's a co-op element)
Why is Raccoon such an appealing setting that makes it different from any other Midwestern city?

would be nice in kevin's case seeing more about raccoon city(as much as i love 4 umbrella going offscreen bankrupt/wesker destroying it in a side game shooter was the big mistake of the series with how 2,3's epilogues & code veronica gave real good buildup to the main characters alongside their allies going to finally take a stand to umbrella only for it to be dropped and wesker leaving prematurely that it feels like with the family/re-verse they're trying to attempt it again.)

kinda get more with ada wong a playful character though with how we see more of her consc would like to see more of her as it's clear she's not evil(compared to h.u.n.k who's definitely not good at all/works better as a side character.),she did just disappear for a while till remake(outside 8's concept art that i wish was dlc/call cameo in 7.) & at the least could have her feelings for leon show( as a criticism of 6 is leon feels foolish believing ada when he didn't know her much.

I feel like separate ways(especially the remake version) is its own game.
If Ada and Hunk had their own games they should be oriented to their style, spy and heist gameplay elements for Ada.
And tactical shooter like Ready or Not, Escape from Tarkov, SCP5k with cqbz gameplay elements for Hunk.
For the story either during his first day at Umbrella up to Re2-3 or after, some of this has been poorly exploited in Umbrella Corps.
Mystery or not I want to see more of these characters in more fleshed out games.
