I only have one more character left to cover but today I thought we’d look at the subway employee who is probably the most unhappy about being in raccoon city than any other character in the series. From lucky tricks to funky pits, here are 25 facts about Jim Chapman.

"Jims special move is to give up hope and die" I've never met a more relatable protagonist.
Well, I think Jim is the most human character there, seriously, he has the most coherent reactions anyone would have in that situation.
"What the fuck you doin'?"
"What the hell's next?"
"I don't know what to do!"
Then the classic "My life is shit", and a not-so-relatable-but-funny one, "Shoo, shoo!" 😆 or "Kiss my ass, bitch"

The bad ending with Kevin and Jim is arguably the most badass of them.

It's either this one or the secret pair ending with David and Mark where David repairs a tank and fight a horde of zombies with it

The difference is like day and night with Jim in the two Outbreak games. In the second game he has a better voice and is real useful in several levels like the Subway level.

Jim is a lot more overpowered in the first game, he's completely invulnerable while playing dead and I *think* (take it with a grain of salt) his coin adds a 15% chance of critical hits every time you get heads, instead of file 2's 10%.
That being said, he's hardly useful in a team (except for the RPD siege for instance), he tends to play best by himself kinda breezing through everything
Si amigo lo que me gusta es la mecánica del balanceo o los golpes seguido que da Jim ya que esa mecánica recompensa la habilidad del jugador osea que bik ribbon se equivocó ya que hasta donde ví Jim puede dar 6 golpes seguidos si los haces bien sin fallar ni una vez no te penaliza osea que Jim no hará esa animación donde se agota solo la hace si te equivocas una vez dándole a la x osea mientras no falles puedes dar varios golpes sin penalización bueno hasta que se te rompa la arma aunque la moneda que Jim tiene en file 2 hace que duren más eso y eso de poder ver items ej el mapa es muy útil muchas veces encuentro cosas que mis compañeros no llegaron a notar
Beating Jim on Very Hard with ai players, I thought would be super hard, but his coin flip trick really powers up the handgun. He's a beast, or a glass cannon rather.
Learning to play as Jim is very satisfactory. If you have a stash of anti virus, his ability of pretend death becomes even stronger.
Mandatory in some of those little endurance moments with the scissor tail bug enemies the first level, and the bees in the last level, and the zombie battle in the police station.

Jim is the most realistic resident evil character, and I love him for it. We all have these grand plans for what we would do in a zombie apocalypse, but real talk, we all would be crying and playing dead to survive.

I think the bike courier costume could be a reference to "28 Days Later" That was job that the main character( also named Jim) had. Maybe a stretch but oh well, best guess i have.

And yeah, it's in the second game that he can take damage even before he lands on the floor if I'm not mistaken, but he's completely invulnerable in the first one.
The infection penalty is still slower than dying and you can use random herbs to pause it when you're gonna be using it often, since in theory you won't be taking damage that way. I do feel like he's better as a solo character though, this being one of the reasons.
On top of that, you can usually just 'tap' the ability for the invincibility frames and it also resets zombie aggro (making them walk right past you sometimes, until they notice you again seconds later 😆)
4:09 I think it's only 10% in the second game, but there's no limit to how many times you can get heads in a row, 3 is just kind of the sweetspot. I also remember reading all characters have a base 5% chance.
As for his file 2 coin, it does indeed prevent hunters from breaking the handguns and shotgun (the only ones they can break I believe), but it only makes melee weapons last twice as long (from use, not hunters).
The melee combo is entirely up to timing, you can technically do it as many times in a row as you want and he even continues to swing it even after it breaks completely (where normally characters toss it). If you press the button too late he just ends the chain, doing so too early overexerts him (works great with the critical bonuses just to knock zombies down for a while).
One last thing, characters in file 2 can make comments about what they're reading, depending on what page you're in even. I haven't tried this in so long but I do believe Jim gives you hints for puzzles, like the notebook with the drawer code in underbelly
oh that explains it I say every time I chose jim and selected yoko as my partner she always abandoned me but one time she decided to play yoko but in this case jim followed me and helped me when there were enemies which I didn't understand why in the wikis they said that If you are Yoko, don't choose Jim as your partner, why do they get along badly? When I see that if you are Yoko, Jim helps you.
Ugh I remember playing the hive level and getting that creepy cutscene where Jim becomes the new leech man every time 😬
Unpopular opinion here, don't get me wrong I love all the outbreak cast being one of my fav games. Jim is actually my favorite character haha I mean he feels the most human, who wouldn't be terrified in an outbreak. He was really fun to play as. Playing the online version with my siblings, I'd constantly make my character talk which was complaining. My siblings were so annoyed lol I played as him so much that they also ended up liking Jim. Such a funny, unique character. Wish We would get an Outbreak remake. xD

Sadly I don’t think so, capcom doesn’t make their RE games like this anymore they focus more on the iconic characters
Really a shame.
Lost Planet and Outbreak can work well in today’s gaming climate where COOP is popular amongst streamers and what not.
Meanwhile fans are getting closer to just making it themselves ^^ what a world we live in. I guarantee we'll get it one way or another.

I once heard that if Jim chapman has Yoko's lucky charm along with another item his play dead rate will not increase as fast and last longer.
One of the funniest ad-libs I've seen Jim exclaim is from the first Outbreak after meeting Monica, where he exclaims "Damn, that bitch is crazy! Nice ass, though!"

My least favorite character in the Outbreak Games
Having the flip 3 heads in a row with his coin at the beginning of each level, is a royal pain, but Jim becomes super powerful with the handgun afterwards, making nearly every shot as strong as a shotgun.
As a Yoko main, i definitely hate Jim😂 dudes left me to die more than anyone else, leaves the room if i get grabbed or something pretty much every time lmao
Both outbreak games are way better than the main line entries in my opinion Capcom wrote these characters better than the resistance and orc characters
He was my least favorite in the first game for the reasons you listed. I liked him more in the second game.
