  • I'm gently getting back into cycling, after recovering from a nasty knee injury. So, please bear with me.
This is a little film I thought I'd make about my main commuting bike, and how I set my kit up.

One of the best bikes ever made. I have two of them an older 531 in British racing Green and a more modern 853 in metallic brown. Fantastic value for such a capable bike.

Awesome, I am getting into touring . I bought an older bianchi volpe. Like 1987, seems a bit heavy but is comfortable. I did have an English Raleigh Super Course 1970s rode sweet...

Thanks for posting great video, I bought my super galaxy in 1980, I saw it in the window of Len Raines in Scarborough, I thought it the most beautiful bike I’d ever seen . Cost me four weeks wages at the time. Still love it.

Great bikes! Glad Dawes are still going strong.. unlike a few of the old firms. Nice set up too.

I've still got my Claude Butler Dalesman circa 1978. It's beautiful to ride, light and very responsive. However, the brakes are pretty abysmal and the wavy 27" wheels need replacing, but there's little choice. Why are all the new bikes so heavily built - 24kgs etc. .??

One of these days I'll see myself in one of your videos lol. Nice bike setup :)
Wondering, you turned right into the little narrow lane in Whitchurch (which avoids the width restriction and roundabout). I thought there was a sign there that said you couldn't turn right down there?

I'm looking for a decent bike mirror for my Dawes.I like how yours attaches and gives a good view.Do you have a link for it or the name and model so I can search to check it out.
    Thanks,Borocavalier

Lovely bike, I wanted a Galaxy but unfortunately at the time the frames were to big for me, I bought a 48cm Claude Butler Dalesman back in 2009 which I still have, I have noticed that Claude Butler have dropped their Dalesman touring bike as they are now part of the Dawes company. It also appears that Dawes also no longer use the brazed front forks. Times change I suppose..

Cheers! The Dawes SG is a fantastic bike. I've ridden thousands of miles on this bike. It's an expensive setup, but you certainly get what you pay for. Unfortunately I don't cycle as much as I did, but still enjoy going out for rides with my kids. I'm sure this bike will last me for the rest of my life. I actually looked into getting a Claude Butler Dalesman when I was choosing my touring bike... 🚲 👍

Nice vid mate your editing is getting better. Have you monetised your channel yet? If you do it will start to store the dollars up for when you hit a 1000 subs.
