nice bike have one bought new in 99 , cycled all over with it as far as sahara desert , simple components can be fixed on side of road, its definitely a keeper
Thanks for this Jon, I was thinking about buying a Dawes Galaxy and this has swayed me towards it. Love the Brooks saddle mate. Looking at 2019 model, was £1300 now £900 in sale..happy days!!
I'm mainly a road bike rider, but love my Dawes. My family and I did a tour around france over the summer and it took everything I threw at it, meaning the rest of my family could travel lighter. Full front and rear panniers and a large bar bag. Handling was slightly different, but only took a few miles to adapt to. I've also been using the Dawes on my turbo trainer with Zwift this year. Again, slightly different experience to the carbon road bike, but it means I can leave the turbo wheel on 90% of the time which is so handy. Thanks for the comment. I'd highly recommend these bikes.
DrBrodski thanks for the question. I've been riding it fairly regularly since I got it, and it's still great. Took it to France over the summer and handled roads and coastal tracks really well. I can easily ride this bike all day for several days in a row without any back or saddle pain. And Still no repairs needed. Didn't end up using it for the big European tour in July because we ended up taking a support vehicle, so didn't need to carry gear. I also found that the weight difference (even without gear) is significant on the uphill sections compared to my road bike. Generally though, I love it and imagine it will be with new for many years to come.

Nice one, I never had a touring bike but I am thinking about getting one.
