    I had my birth plan written beautifully thanks to this wonderful video.
    That got thrown out the window yesterday at 2:35pm (June 11th) when I delivered our daughter on our way to the hospital. What a crazy experience that was! 😅

    I've had 5 babies, 4 of which were home births and one (my 4th) was a transfer for induction. Now I'm pregnant with my 6th and planning a hospital birth for the first time, for various reasons. It's so hard going from the home birth culture to the cold business world of hospital birth. Especially with my 6th baby. I've been trying to write out a plan and forgot a lot of things so I really appreciate this video! I really hope I can find a provider who can respect my wishes.

      May I ask why the change?

    • @MB-vi8zp
      @MB-vi8zp Před 4 měsíci +4

      @@valeriaswanne because home births are expensive and insurance doesn't cover them. Just can't afford another home birth unfortunately. But I'm sort of glad because this way I can be just induced around 39-40 weeks instead of carrying 2+ weeks past my due date like I did with all my other babies.

      I am literally in the exact same position as you, baby number six and planning a Hospital birth. My husband was laid off and home births are expensive. I’m older and I also feel like displacing my other five children so I can have the baby at home. It’s too much work. I find it easier for me to just leave and go have the baby and come back lol 😂 but I will say that I am feeling all the same feelings as you. I am stressed out about it but trying to relax and enjoy.

    Your channel is life saver. I’m so glad to find it. Now watch one by one all your videos) So helpful. I’m new in USA, and English is not my native language. But you explain everything so good, seems like here I find answers to my questions. I feel more confident and calm when I understand what usually is going on in hospital in US, and of course learning new vocabulary related birth. Thank you so much!!! You are amazing)

    Hi!!! I am so thankful for what you said “Birth Preferences”! I wish I could share thoughts from L&D nurses when a pt arrived with a “Plan”. A great happy medium is intermittent electric fetal monitoring rather than “spot checks” with intermittent auscultation with a Doppler- really tough. I agree totally.I appreciate your video very much ☺️ Thank you very much!

    I am pregnant with my first and your videos are so helpful. These might be dumb questions but who do you give your birth plan to? Do you wait until you're at the hospital? Do nurses get upset when you have a birth plan?

    • @mamanursetina
      @mamanursetina  Před 9 měsíci +7

      Discuss what’s on it with your provider ahead of time at your scheduled appointments so you can get onto the same page. Then print it two copies and bring to your birth. One for the room or the door to your room and one for your chart. ☺️

    What is that pitocin shot for? I thought it was used to induce labor.

    • @mamanursetina
      @mamanursetina  Před rokem +7

      So, if you have Pitocin during labor, it is given through the IV to make your contractions, stronger longer more efficient or closer together. When it is given with the birth of the baby, it is given in an attempt to decrease your chances of a postpartum hemorrhage.

    i have a question what do you mean by provider

    • @zx1906
      @zx1906 Před 2 měsíci

      That’s a term used in Northern America to describe the medical professional in charge of your care. Not all providers here are medical doctors. Your provider generally could be a medical doctor (MD), a doctor of osteopathy (DO), an Advanced Practice Provider like a Physician’s Assistant (PA) or a Nurse Practitioner (NP), or in case of birth a Nurse Midwife.

    I’m currently pregnant with baby # 2, is it ok to refuse pitocin? I remember with baby number #1. I was doing fine until they started pitocin. The pain was too much! Can this be an option to proceed naturally? @mamanursetina
