You should've seen my face when something actually came out 😂
Haha, that’s a win! 😂
😂😂😂same. I’m so shocked lol
I woke up today and just noticed my breasts were more swollen than usual and a bit painful. I started massaging them then I just had a random thought … what if I’m producing milk already? So I squeeze and colostrum came out it scared me lmao
@@MushyyFairy Haha yes its possible! THose breast changes start happening as early as 16-22 weeks!
The absolute truth to this comment, so much same 😂
This has been the only tutorial that I’ve been successful getting a couple drops from. People usually stop after “make a C” and don’t explain proper placement or the rhythm to use for expression. Thank you for finally actually explaining the full steps!
YES 🙌🏻🙌🏻☺️
I started leaking out at 16 weeks, and when I hit 36 weeks I started collecting, first time with hand expression I got 4ml, so I tried a pump the next day and got 15ml! Then I did hand expression again and got 10ml😅I feel like that’s a lot! So happy I can feed my baby!!
Hey I missed this comment! How did everything go with baby?
I can’t believe this worked I got 2 drops on 1st try thank you so much for this!!! So encouraging.
Feels like the only video that truly shows the suction motion you need for hand expression! It started right away with the correct technique! Thank you so much!
Yes!! thank you for being here!
Thank you so much! 39 weeks with first baby and this info is gold ✨
Oh gosh you’re so close! ♥️🙌🏻
I WANT THOSE!!!
I'm 34 weeks, and this is the first video I've watched on how to hand express. I love how direct you are, and your shorts are so funny!
Thank you ☺️
This has been the only video to actually help me!! Finally got a few drops, thank you ❤
Best most complete video on this. Thank you. Great demos. Easy to understand.
This is one of the bst videos I have ever watched about harvesting colostrum ❤
As a child and young adult I had virtually no exposure to babies/toddlers/infants. Partially related to my lack of exposure, I've had conflicting feelings about if I want to have children. I still dont know, but what I do know is if I choose to have children I will feel so much more confident with your tips!! Learning about childbearing from you has been so facinating!! Thank you for all that you do ❤
That means so much, thank you!
I want those!
First time mom here and have no idea at all, read some scary experiences but watching this makes me feel at ease and i feel like if i’m successful in collecting colostrum, i might have a higher chance of an uncomplicated breastfeeding journey. Thanks for all your videos! :)
Tina, I can't get enough of your content! The passion and enthusiasm you display in your videos is truly inspiring.
:) Thanks again!
@@mamanursetina Sent you an email hope you see it
FTM 33 weeks here. I tried your hand expression technique for only one day and got 1 ML of colostrom the next night. I was not expecting it so soon but thank you! Going to try for more!
Came from TikTok, really just trying to educate myself for my first baby and I love your videos! ❤
Heeeey welcome!!!
I am so happy I found this video! I put the hakka tubes on my registry!
I don’t usually comment on videos but this one is a win. I was amazed and shocked something actually came out! Thank you so much for this!
I hope this works for me too 🥹
I want those! I'm 15th weeks pregnant and can't wait to save my collostrum for my baby due in July ❤😊
I want those!
Currently am 16 weeks pregnant. I’m so glad I watched this I definitely want to do this for my baby.
This is a great video, it worked right away! Love all of your videos! ❤
OMG it worked!!! Tips are so helpful. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Best video on Colostrum I have found thus far and really in depth.
I want those! Thank you for sharing!! I wish I knew about colostrum collection with my first
I love your videos and I have been trying to binge them before baby gets here! I even sent a few to my husband so he could get on board ♡
Yay! Thank you!
Such clear information. I bottle fed my first kid and with my second I am ready to jump into all the different breast feeding options and this seems like such a good way to learn some techniques ahead of time and have you have a stash of liquid gold on hand.
Preach!! I hope you have success with your baby in whatever avenue you guys travel down! ♥️ 💦
I have had it coming out of my boobs for weeks now, but I had no way to collect it. Thank you! I'd love to have some stored up for when she finally arrives. I absolutely love your channel! I have an autoimmune disorder and may have to get back on medications that will prevent me from breastfeeding long-term, so this information is crucial!
I WANT THOSE! ❤ Thank you SO much for this information. You’re amazing 🙌
♥️♥️
This was such a helpful video!❤ I had such a strange reaction when I first got something out, I felt this overwhelming panic.. I guess it's because it's such an alien thing to a first time mom. It put me off a little but I've persevered.
I've been finding it so hard to collect in the syringes, so bought myself some haakaa collectors! 😊
I want those! Thank you for this helpful video❤
I'm 34 weeks woth my 2nd son. I had lots of issues breastfeeding my 1st son. This time around, I'm in better mental health, and my breasts are already starting to leak. Tonight, they started aching. Unless i go into labor naturally, i have a scheduled c-section in 4 weeks. I feel more comfortable with collecting my colostrum now, and like my body is ready to breastfeed this time. 😊
Thank you!
The only video that was helpful for me! Anxiously waited for 36 weeks to be able to do this. Was able to get a little over 3.5 mL on my first try!🙌🏽
I just started producing mine and this video helped me a lot.
Amazing, I'm so glad!
I would love to try the colostrum collectors! I had trouble breastfeeding my first baby and am trying everything I can do succeed with number two, who is due in October!
Yeeees!! Let’s get spread the word so I can do a giveaway….or two!
I WANT THOSE!
Currently 24 weeks pregnant. Last baby unexpectedly had IUGR and low blood sugar. Luckily he grew into a thriving toddler 😃. With this baby IUGR is a very real risk so I'm doing what I can to give her the best start possible. When I get to a week or two before I'm supposed to deliver I want to start harvesting colostrum. Thank you so much for your tips!
I’m so glad you’re here! Hopefully we can get to the giveaway soon ♥️
I want those! I am pregnant and interested in in collecting colostrum. I’d love those syringes please. Love your videos, thanks for sharing and helping so many people with your videos!
I WANT THOSE! Been eyeing them for a while. I'm currently 35w and am both excited and apprehensive about expressing colostrum in the near future. Thank you so much for this helpful video!
Yes!! Let’s spread the word and get a few giveaways going 🙌🏻♥️
Can you use a manual pump to do this?
@@crystalann4700it doesn't really work before your milk comes in I find. The only way to get colostrum is with a baby or this hand expression method.
This video is sooo helpful! Thank you 🙏🏼
Amazing!
I want those!!! First time mommy and I am so ready 😂❤
I did this with my last pregnancy and it saved me from having to supplement with formula. I started storing colostrum this time around at 36 weeks once a day I get about 30ml a day.
Love that! ♥️
Omg I WANT THOSE 😉!! 🤩🙏🏾🥰 Thankyou for sharing this amazing info! So clear and informative I had no idea! So excited for liquid gold for my lil angel 😇 14 weeks! So grateful 💟
♥️
i want those! they are awesome! my baby has restricted growth. and is small! this is something iv been hoping to do since day one of my pregnancy and then when i found out about her being small i wanted to even more and was recommended by the drs
Good for you :)
That expression rhythm is so confuaing to me 😂 i had my son 9 years ago. I did not breastfeed very long. I have never stopped producing colostrum, so I luckily know how to get mine out. Great information, though! Very great explanation!
Thank you so much for the info!!
♥️
I've watched a few videos and am trying this now at 37 weeks. I enjoy seeing the slight variation in technique between videos, and trying to see what works for me. I think I am "like" number 993, but I WANT THOSE 😊
🙌🏻
I would love to give the Haakka collectors a try. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant with my first, and likely only baby (years of IVF and my advanced age), so I want to get a head start on harvesting my colostrum for her as soon as I can. I am so nervous about breast feeding and making sure I give my little girl the best start to her life as I possibly can. Thank you so very much for sharing these awesome tips with us, Tina.
Thanks for being here! Let’s get this video pushed so we can do a giveaway (or two or three!) 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Did you start collecting at 28 weeks ?
I want those! 🙌🏽 thanks for the video🎉
Thanks for being here!
I had those hakka collectors for my first pregnancy and they were a life saver for me! My son was born 3 weeks early, had jaindice to almost where we had to bring him to the hospital, and would not wake up for feedings. I had covid, my husband had covid, so I was the only one who could take him to apts, and was alone every time they said he wasnt gaining enough weight (I thought I was doing something wrong, but the lactation consultant and all the doctors ar the hospital never told us he might not wake for feedings because of his jaundice and being warly 🙄).
I decided to just express colostrum into those hakka tubes and feed from the tubes to dream feed him, and he did so well on those!
He could latch, but he just wouldn't wake up to feed. I was constantly expressing and collecting and feeding with those tubes until my milk came in and he could nurse properly.
My friend got them for me from my registry unstead of cute clothes, and I am so thankful I put them on my list and she got them.
Pregnant with our second now and I already plan to store colostrum as soon as I can for this one, anticipating another early kiddo.
I WANT THOSE!! Expecting my first to arrive soon :)
So exciting ♥️
I didn't even know what colostrum was until I saw this video. Knowing what colostrum is and what it does for baby is awesome!
Im glad that you provided a tutorial on how to collect colostrum and store it. It was very informative and easy to understand. I love watching your videos! 😃👍🏻🫶🏻
Thank you for being here!!
I want those. I’m due in this September. Thank you for an informative video.
Good luck!! And congrats ahead of time!!
Yep I want those😃!!!
I want those! I found this video right on time, I’m 9 months.
Pumping at this moment. Thought this was fitting content. 😊
I want those! Such a cool product! These videos are so helpful!
♥️ I was so impressed by it, glad I picked it up to check out. Easy peasy! Let’s get the giveaway happening! 🙌🏻
I want those! Super cool!
Yaaaaas!
Thank you so much for this video. This will be my second time breastfeeding but I didn’t collect colostrum with my last pregnancy. I am a visual person so reading blogs and listening to podcasts about this hasn’t really helped me. Watching this video has helped me so much. Thank you for giving me the confidence to hopefully collect colostrum now! My midwife gave me the okay last week. ❤
Update: I got 3.5mLs my first try 🥳🎉
@@alyssawalls4515 super proud of you mama ❤
I want those 🤓 glad I watched! I didn't realize you could use the tip like a syringe!
Yeeeees!! Good luck!
I want those! Great video, thank you
Let’s gooo! Thanks for the comment ♥️
I bought them! Thought they'd be great! I'm 29 wks, planning ahead.
🙌🏻
I WANT THOSE! 😍
So mine started coming out today at 39 weeks and 4 days ...man was I happy wen I saw it started coming out ..through out my last 3 pregnancies nthn my milk always comes out after 3 days hopefully if I pumping my milk will come in early before baby is born ❤❤❤
I want those ! 😊
Great video
Very informative
Thank you!
36 weeks pregnant! I WANT THOSE❤️🥰
Yaaaaas you are, let’s geeeet it 🙌🏻
I want those!!!
Holly Jesus! It worked😯
I love those Hakaa colostrum collectors. I bought so many of them, although their are not cheap 😅
They are not, especially if you have lots. But they are sooooooo easy to use!
I have GD this pregnancy and am planning to collect colostrum within the next few weeks because of baby's sugars/possibly baby sugars and may need formula. Nothing against formula but I am already producing so mind as well save it and bring it with to the hospital. I can't wait to meet my baby!
My first pregnancy my baby had a hard time latching and the LC had me hand express and we fed my baby with a syringe which i thought was so nice and helpful of them. I didn't know this was an option as a new mom.
This is a great reason to collect colostrum! Lots of times these babies need a little extra to help their blood sugars after birth!
I have no need for the colostrum collectors right now, but thank you so much for sharing about them! (Please don’t enter me into your give away, I’m just excited that you’re making this content!)
Hey thanks for being here and your comment 😊
I want those! My little IUGR baby will need some liquid gold when she arrives. ❤️
Yes!!! Good luck’ I had an IUGR tater too ♥️
I want those!
I want those ❤️❤️
I need to take certain meds again after pregnancy and therefore won’t be able to breastfeed. So I started hand expression after talking to my OB/GYN and lactation consultant colleague at 37 weeks. even as a pediatric nurse I never thought you could have so much colostrum before birth….I always end up with about 4 milliliters 😊…so proud of my body
♥️🙌🏻🎉
Wife has no clue what she’s doing, started pumping today at 36+6 and easily got 2ml out of right sided breast. Extremely proud of her.
I want those ❤
While collecting colostrum, some fell on my finger and I decided to taste it out of curiosity. I've been feeling very bad for my baby ever since 😂😂😂
Great video thanks
Feeling bad cause it was yucky? I always thought breast milk tasted a bit sweet 🤷🏻♀️
@mamanursetina yes exactly! Breastmilk taste sweet, except for colostrum which tasted like salted and sour milk. 😆
But baby loved it so it's all that matters
i want those!
Thank you for the information! I was wondering if you can save the clear colostrum as well?
You sure can!!!
37 weeks with my first and have watched your videos since 1st tri. Saved this one and registered for the collectors for my baby shower (gotem!), finally tried for the first time today! Now i'm someone who, though my breasts have grown a ton, hasnt leaked at all this pregnancy. So this first round of collecting only got me like 1 drop from each side. Aaaand i'm still not 100% sure i'm not squeezing/moving my fingers *too* much? Haha But i'll take it! Thanks so much for making this video, looking forward to harvesting more soon!
I want those!! 😍
Yes! Lets goooo!
I want those!!❤
Let’s gooo!
I WANT THOSE!!!
I WANT THOSE!!! 37 WEEKS PREGNANT HERE ❤
I want those 😉 I’m 28 weeks with my little IVF dude. Love your content!
Hooooray for sticky baby dust! Thanks for being here ♥️
When did you start collecting?
I WANT those!!!! please
I want those 😊
Does the clear stuff coming out at first qualify as colostrum? Or do you wait to collect until it is gold?
I want those (haakaa colostrum collectors). They seem easy to use.
They were super user friendly!
I want those ❤❤❤❤
Would love to try the Hakka collectors!
Yaaaas let’s get ‘em!
Love this video! How long does it typically take for colostrum to thaw in the fridge and at room temp?
Solid question, would depend how much is in the syringe. Wouldn’t take too long and running under warm water would defrost it pretty quick
I have questions :)
I received a best massager. Will this suffice when first starting or using hands best choice?
Also, when doing compressions, how much pressure are you supposed to apply?
I’ve been leaking since 16 weeks SO MUCH and my OB says I cannot do it early at all or else I will go into early labor but ive woken up to a puddle twice the size of my head and it’s getting to be so much. I’m currently 27 weeks. It’s overwhelming.
This video helped the most I can produce a drop it’s just not enough to tilt into bottle and when I try to use a syringe with one hand I end up wasting it
It will come more as you work at it. You could try scooping it off with a small plastic spoon. But if its a drop I am not sure you'd be able to collect it till you have a bit more. But worth a try :)
I want thoses 🎊
Thank you! I just turned 39 weeks today and haven't figured this out yet 😅 I also have syringes and the haakka one already.
LOVE the Haakaa!! Good luck ♥️
@@mamanursetina Thank you!!
I want those.
Should you still store the clear colostrum that comes out when one is first trying to express?
I WANT THOSE 🎉
I don't think I'm doing it right. I have large and very saggy breasts so there's a lot of excess skin moving around the tissue. I only seem to see a drop when I squeeze the actual nipple. What the heck 😢
