"Superman a depressed college student who can't fly"
Smallville?
You know? I was right in the middle of making the exact same comment, and thought to myself, "Stephen, maybe you should check and make sure that someone else isn't writing something like this. 'Cause that would be embarrassing." And as it turned out, here you are. Hat's off, sir. Hat's off.
Stephen Petersen Good for you Stephen
Stephen Petersen story of my life
Samuel Blackwell smallville was so shit
Samuel Blackwell I think that was the joke
"why don't you make Superman a depressed college kid who can't fly." that's called Smallville
IM DYIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE ALL THE W'S MAH DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Social Mutant at least that show is good
I. Am. Creasing LMAO xD
Clark wasn't depressed and at least Lex was interesting and they had a hot Asian chick. This film had nothing then less than nothing and nothing beyond that.
How about making kratos an alcoholic out of shape slob who only fights with a baseball bat
I remember my mom just started laughing in the theater when we saw this movie. It was where the girl is explaining how she took hydrochlorithiazide to mess with her heart. Moms a nurse so she's giggling and going "That stuff will just make you pee! Not that!"
Robin Banks his mom did too
Hahaha when i first time saw that scene where she explained how she got injection to stop her heart. I was like "Oh come on, that is bullcrap" XD
At best, she’d black out in a puddle of her own piss.
That's awsome.point for nurse mom!!!!
As a pharmacist, I died laughing at this line in the scene haha
"Why don't you take away Hulks strength?"
Makers of Infinity War: "Say, that's not a bad idea."
Lol more like *endgame
They didnt take away his strength. They took away the hulk. Neither did endgame. They just made him smart.
@@silentjohnny4988 how can you say that? He didnt use a single feat of strength In infinity war he was a bitch. And he was underpowered in endgame and didnt do ANYTHING in the final battle lol did you watch either movie?
@@Blazin_Tundra just because he didnt do anything significant doesn't mean they took away his strength. He clearly landed some powerful punches on Thanos, he just got his ass beat by someone better than him. That's it. He was NOT depowered. He just refused to come out and play. In Endgame, he relied more on his brains than brawn, but he still had his strength. Nothing was taken away. Did YOU watch either movie??
@@silentjohnny4988 he never got his revenge on thanos. He got whipped and had 0 redemption. Dont @ me
The worst part of Wolverine blocking the optic blast from Deadpool is that the claws are not a shield. There's space between the claws through which the beam would pass.
DreadedDormammu *EXC-FUCKING-ACTLY
And he would basically castrate himself while moving the claws up from the ground to his chest.
Adamantium is magic. It can literally do anything.
That’s when the movie turned into Dragon Ball X.
Robin banks you are the one who is stupid
Can't believe you guys didn't mention that God-awful ladder-slicing scene xD
was waiting for that
Kazuya Mishima that scene was hillarious
Best scene!
I saw the movie once, but don't remember a ladder-slicing scene, what happened?
Kazuya Mishima or when Stryker tells Wolverine he's going to loss his memory before he shots him in the head. It was as if he seen the other movies and knew they were in a prequel.
At least Days of Future Past erased this from continuity
luckyDancer100 Deadpool 2 confirms that this film happened.
Cancer Itself185 Just in case you didn't figure it out, Deadpool movies aren't supposed to be continuity accurate...
It also erased the original X-Men trilogy, The Wolverine, and Days of Future Past's future
Deadpool is more of a *wink to the audience* film. I don't really take them too seriously lol.
luckyDancer100 Overly dramatic much? This ain't fuckin Meet the Spartans
the guy that played sabertooth did a good job imo.
I think so too.
He was cool
He was a little over the top, but other than that he was okay. If he had better material, he would have done a better job
Liev is a good actor so not surprised
This and his performance in The Sum Of All Fears were in preparation for his defining role as Ray Donovan. We just didn't know it at the time
Ryan Reynolds should have won an Oscar for the best silent film actor category.
lol
It wasn't even him.
Abstracted Habit I just shit a brick
It was Scott atkin
Is that even still a category?
The scene in the boxing ring with The Blob felt like it was from an Austin Powers movie
Ben McDonald Which Austin Powers movie? The first or the second one?
@@shawnfields266 Perhaps the third.
"Fat Blobstard"
Accurate asf 😂
@Hey McFly Perhaps...
“Nobody kills you but me” is possibly the most “real” dialogue in the movie. My older sister used to beat the crap out of me but she’d go full berserker if someone else ever tried to hurt me

I think an unmentioned tragedy of Origins is the waste of Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth. I thought it was good casting and he seemed like an equal complement to Hugh Jackman.
He was actually scary there was something in his eyes that made you uncomfortable when he was on screen
Schreiber was awesome as Sabretooth. He should actually get his own movie. Would love to see him play the role some more.
Very true, when first introduced toward the beginning of the movie you think "perfect these guys are meticulously cast!" what a goddamn waste. If they made a sabertooth movie rated R in the same universe as Logan with liev Schreiber all dark and brooding all "where is my buddy so I can kill him before I die too" them finds out he's dead or something. I dono I'd see it in a theater.
Very true. Here, take this role you're perfect for as an actor, and perform this ridiculous garbage script, ok, great, thanks.
I honestly liked a lot of the castings in this movie.

"Why did this movie happen?"
Well, the studio wanted to make a solo Wolverine movie, but the producers and the higher ups said, "Nope, gotta give him an origin story first." and the studio said, "But we already did that in X-men 2." and the producers and the higher ups said, "Nope, doesn't count, make that origin story first. Oh, and stick X-Men in the title somewhere so we don't lose the licence."
Chris: And I mean, why'd this movie happen?
TheFlickPick: *...Money.*
(Utterly long silence)
Chris: ...yeah.

To be fair, the opening montage is brilliantly done. It was one of the best opening sequences I've ever seen.
Yeah it actually tells you that the movie will be cool but as the inteo ends you see it only gets worse
On the plus side, we got X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Deadpool, and Logan.

The best thing about this movie is Sabertooth. He has the right combination of menace and crazy. In his own twisted way he sincerely believes he's making his little brother stronger.
RawheadWes agree Liev and Hugh do a good job
And as much as I hate this film. This Sabretooth is much better than the one we got in the first Xmen film.
I agree. It's a shame he didn't make the cut in Logan
Judge C Oh I remember him. The black eyes and shit came off more cartoony than threatening.

Rotten Tomatoes 94% - Logan (2017)
In the first few minutes, this movie convinced me that I really want to see a gritty war movie, with a nice semi-ensemble team dynamic, where Wolverine and Sabertooth use some classic WWI/II weaponry, guns and grenades and all, and then pull out their mutant powers when it would be rad.
"Batman just be a Dracula cosplayer!!!"
And now that Robert Pattinson dude from Twilight is playing Batman
Duuude I remember getting a burned copy of this movie from a guy and when I was watching it I was wondering if there was something wrong with the CGI due to the fact that it was pirated

I absolutely agree. The movie is better than its reputation. It's not a great movie, but it's not an awful one either.
Aapon Osoite Yeah, I agree. As a non comic book reader I think the movie is decent. It's a nice mindless action movie on a Sunday. And I really like Liev Shreiber.
Get some standards.
Mediocre is what would I describe this movie. It's bad but it has a few decent moments and still somewhat watchable. Still meh though...

I knew the guy who played General Munson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He was a good actor and this was probably the biggest role he ever got, in terms of tentpole movies. When he wasn't acting he taught at the same school I taught at. A bunch of us went with him to see the movie when it came out. It was pretty awkward afterwards.
9:44 Little did Chris know the vampire himself Robert Pattinson would actually play Batman.
Ryan Reynolds was used for the close-ups and minor stunts. The rest was done by Scott Adkins. So the scenes with Deadpools face are in fact Reynolds
This. There are makeup test behind the scenes videos online of them doing the Deadpool make up tests on Reynolds. Total fail saying it was all Adkins.
The Fact that X-Men Origins: Wolverine is related to Logan and Hugh Jackman gave me cripling depresion

Budget $150 million[3]
Box office $373.1 million[3]
Cash grab motive confirmed!
That's not even that much of good revenue. Especially since they had so much trouble to even come up front with the budget - who knows how many people participated and got their rather small share from the mediocre profit the movie actually made?
Although I wonder where those 150 mil. actually went in to? The movie at times looks just cheap - especially the CGI. Can't even imagine if that thing took 150 to make what an actually good film, for example with extended scenes during the civil war, WW II and Vietnam would have costed.
I wish it was like a Forest Gump type movie with Wolverine
"RUN WOLVIE, RUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNN!"
“My names Wolverine; you can call me wolverine”
You mean they should have stuck with the timeline story from the beginning
100% it should have been him and Sabertooth going through history, the opening montage with the wars was basically the perfect premise

Not gonna lie this movie's a guilty pleasure of mine
same here
I liked the helicopter sequence when I first saw it in the trailer. That was the one thing that got me pumped. I also enjoyed Liev Schreiber's Saber-tooth for his personality but prefer Tyler Mane's costume (though I understand this is meant to be a younger depiction).
I didn't mind them being changed to brothers since their abilities & animalistic nature were similar in the comics (albeit for different reasons), but it makes no sense for the original film since this connection is never referenced.
You'd think the reappearance of Tyler's long-lost amnesiac brother would warrant at least some familial reaction. Plus, you know, hunting young Cyclops. As for the rest... Well, Chris & Flick Pick already pretty much said it.
EpicHomeMoviez nickelback is mine...
EpicHomeMoviez exactly. While sure this movie isn't good, wolverine is worth a lot of points. You can watch this just for more Hugh Jackman as wolverine. Plus I'm down with Sabertooth and his portrayal.
EpicHomeMoviez same lol

I can't believe so many people are defending this movie in a commenct section with arguments like "you're just mad because they ruined Deadpool". I don't read comics, before Deadpool's movie I had no idea who he is and I still think this movie is a piece of garbage and deserve all criticism.

Nordan just a xmen movie they don't want you to remember anymore
I remember it being fun when I was like 12, but I recognize now that it was poorly executed.
I think this movie does not deserve a hilariocity review. Comic book nerds just hate it because they changed the character of Deadpool so much. But if he was not called Deadpool, he would be a cool villain. Oh, and the movie had some really bad CGI scenes, but you know what, it also had some really good ones.
Liev Schreiber was also great in it (whom you did not mention at all in this review) and I enjoyed the whole movie and story of the movie way more than I enjoyed the Wolverine. The Blob and Will I Am almost aren't in the movie. I just have the feeling people like to nitpick on this movie because it's popular to hate on it. Hell, even Chris and John in this video haven't managed to come up with some valuable points why this movie is so bad. They played it up as if those scenes are superawful, but they really aren't. The motorcycle scene was actually pretty cool. (except for the walking away from the explosion scene... :P )
The scene where Wolverine opens the cages looks great, no need to make fun of it.
This movie as a whole is not great, the script has some problems, but IMO it's not awful either, it way enjoyable and it just doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting.

This movie is underrated as fuck. It's not flawless, and what they did to Deadpool/Wade Wilson was unforgivable. But overall it's still a solid film in my opinion.
I agree. I remember when it came out, most people around me seemed to think it was good. I think people changed their minds' because they are heavily influenced by the reviews. So then they watch it again with a negative lens. But yeah...the Deadpool thing was indeed awful..
Solarstar10 I just call it Weapon XI and it's fine. Not Deadpool, but still cool.
I think most people grew up and can see this movie for what it actually is. When this came out in 09 I was just 14 and didn't have the understanding of cinema that I do now. Same thing happened to me with Spider-Man 3 and X3. I loved all those movies when they came out but now they're almost unwatchable.
Hmm. I can see what you mean. However, I kind of take cinema review with a grain of salt. As much as its cool to see an "objective" opinion, I have to question whether its truly objective or not. What defines a good movie? What makes it "art"? What defines an "understanding"? I know of people who loved Star Wars(OT), but then went to film school and ended up hating it because it supposedly doesn't meet their standards. I think its good to properly review movies, but I think people take it a tad too far sometimes.
I agree,i really like this movie 7/10
The only good thing about this movie is that it gave us the funniest end credits scene in Deadpool 2.
Definitely.
