It’s my birthday today and there is nothing I was looking forward to more then to watch this. Kinda funny has a special place in my heart.
Irish67 Happy Birthday!
happy birthday! thanks for watching
Happy birthday!
DM McDermott thank you
Steven Played This thank you
To quote the great philosopher Victor 'Sabertooth' Creed:
"Little dark for sunglasses, don't you think?"
Woke up this morning and after thinking how it was Thursday I started humming the X-Men Animated intro song to myself...
This review series and party mode are at the top of my list for Kinda Funny content. Andy is a large part of both. Coincidence? I think not.
True Adamantium is stronger than True Vibranium
True Adamantium was an attempt to recreate the mysterious Vibranium-steel alloy of Captain America's shield
Captain America's shield is an unknown alloy of Vibranium and steel officially called "Proto-Adamantium". It is utterly indestructible to natural forces and is far stronger than both regular True Vibranium and True Adamantium.
Secondary Adamantium is shitty, knock-off, low grade Adamantium. Still almost impossibly durable, but garbage compared to the real stuff.
If you ever see someone break Adamantium in the comics, it's this stuff.
Adamantium Beta is the porous True Adamantium coating Wolverine's skeleton. The porous nature is what allows Wolverines bones/bone marrow to continue functioning and producing blood for his body. (You can't hermetically seal his bones and marrow in metal. He'd just die.)
Carbonadium is a Russian artificial Adamantium knock-off. An attempt by the KGB to create Adamantium to make their own Wolverine.
It's radioactive, more malleable, and cheaper than True Adamantium, but otherwise almost as durable.
Omega Red (Russia's answer to Weapon X)'s tentacles are Carbonadium and constantly poisoning his body, which is why Omega Red has to constantly steal life force from his victims to refuel his own and overcome the Carbonadium poisoning.
Those are the important ones.
There are LOADS more Vibranium and Adamantium variants in the Marvel Universe.

Good post. Thanks for the breakdown brother.

(jk, good shit)
Thank you for the awesome comment. Saved me a google search. You rock.
Can't wait for James Bond in review. RaGu BaGu for days. I'm willing this into existence. Also will last a whiiiiile.
Origins has some good stuff. It's just that the stuff that's bad is THAT bad that we don't focus on the good stuff lol. The opening credits of this movie is incredible. Seeing Logan and Victor going through all the wars is one of the best scenes in all of the films.
The weapon X stuff is awesome. Seeing Wade Wilson pre-Deadpool was super fun (especially considering Reynolds improv'd nearly all his lines). But the ending with him, the silly Blob action scene, and the ridiculous shit with Gambit really brings this movie down. The bad effects and all that other stuff really shows that the wrong team was behind this.
Logan staying with the older couple was good though, and shows that theme of good people always leaving him, which is pure Wolverine goodness. The movie had potential, with Jackman being as great as always, but it should've been more serious (ala LOGAN), less cartoony, and more focused. It could've been great.
Alex Love a lot of movies could've been great, but sadly sometimes the universe hates us
JCLegoMan, well it's no secret that Fox meddled with this film. What they did to Deadpool was all them. Reynolds even went on record saying that he told them fans would hate it but some producers didn't care.
That goes into what I was saying about the wrong team behind this. Maybe Gavin Hood could've made a good movie if he had the freedom to. At least Mangold had that with Logan, which to me makes it all worth it.
JCLegoMan if you have to say it’s not to bad means its that bad lol. I fucking hated this movie. It ruined wolverine gambit deadpool. This movie should have never happened. Hugh Hackman even stayed he wish he would have acted like he did with Logan throughout his wolverine career. But hindsight is 20/20
Absolutely. Here's hoping Marvel eventually relaunches the X-Men in the MCU and Wolverine gets an origin more in line with the Weapon X graphic novel!
This review is 6 times more entertaining than the film itself.
This is by far my favorite show on the internet right now. Makes me belly laugh CONSTANTLY. God, I love Kinda Funny so much
More ideas for “In Review:”
Spider-Man
Terminator
Rambo
Rocky
Resident Evil
Scary Movie
Broken Lizard
maddoggnick96 yes Rocky
Hunter S Thompson movies in review. HTU
maddoggnick96 Resident Evil is far and above my favorite game franchise... but damn that last move is the worst movie EVER!!
maddoggnick96 RESIDENT EVIL IS A GREAT IDEA!!! those movies are so dumb haha
But but but Fast and Furious!!
I forgive this film since it was a victim of the 2007-08 writers strike.
I wonder where RaguBagu would rank the seminal villain Blackout from the 2011 classic Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in the Kinda Funny Nick Cage Ghost Rider (NCGRCU) in review.
Nicks face when Tim is talking about Hugh Jackman's training is amazing
Good lord!!! Greg drinking Heady Topper!!! That's one of the GOATs
Every thursday feels a little like Christmas morning.
I don’t understand how Greg is so good at recapping movies. I couldn’t do this 10 minutes after watching a movie.
Did anyone else watch the leaked copy for the first time where everyone was on wires and a dildo looking plane because the special effects weren't done. That versions better because its funny
Dan Ranney before this that was the only version Andy had seen
Yeah I'm the same as Andy. That was the only one I had watched
Yep it's the only time I have seen the movie. There were literally scenes that were just hand drawn lol.
Hi, big fan of the show! These reviews of the X men movies have inspired me to get into comics. But it’s the classic question ‘Where do I start?’ Any suggestions???
Kevin is correct about the x2 bullet
Yay, 6pm here, got my dinner ready, again, waiting since last Thursday. However, can I really bring myself to watch this particular movie afterwards??
1:38 nice subtle Super Bad reference andy
Kevin looks like a pro poker player
I agree with greg. Gambit was not that bad.
Kevin definitely mixed up Cyclops from this movie and the Cyclops from X-Men: Apocalypse :P
Can u guys do a in review of the older comic movies not part of a universe?! Start with maybe blade!
Why am I rewatching all these xmen movies. i can’t stop
Did they repost this? I could've sworn I saw this earlier in the week and it disappeared
The ps3 wolverine game was actually fun at that time for me. Way better than the movie.
I constantly forget that my main man Kevin "Loose Feet" Bacon is the villain in First Class. Just boggles my noodle, man
You know what I always found weird about this movie? The dad reveal. Why did they make Wolverines fake dad look like Hugh Jackman if they were going to make Sabertooth dad Wolverine's real dad I found that really weird
Someone must've shot me with an Adamantium bullet because I remember nothing of this In Review. I'm only here because Liev Shreiber is mentioned in Scream In Review
My favourite bits of the In Review series is when Kevin doesn't contribute anything and looks up stuff on his phone. There's nothing better than the guy in a group that blatantly looks at his phone in discussions.
Lol after watching this I realized I've only seen the leaked version of this movie
Rank those abs is the best podcast within podcast ✌🏽
9:13 kevin is right
The makeup/cgi make it a little hard to tell, because the length of the bullet makes it seem like it should've protruded from his forehead more. But yeah, Kev is right.
Colin was right :)
I think for Avengers 4 or the inevitable reboot with MCU + X-Men & F4, Kinda Funny should do every Marvel film pre and post Iron Man again with a definitive Marvel Films Rankings. I wonder where Howard The Duck ends up on that list.
Caleb Zieroff After sitting through the entirety of the MCU leading up to Infinity War, I can say that these movies are super not worth that level of investment.
Why does Kevin where sunglasses when he's on the shows?
I know it is not really important, but I can't find the post credit scene of Wolverine drinking in Japan, and it is bugging me :). Can anyone help?
Stryker is Danny Huston and he was a vampire in 30 Days of Night... also one of the bad guys in Wonder Woman
I've been lookin forward to this one.
The Fast and Furious and X-Men franchises have often released the same installments of a franchise in the same year. X-Men 2 (2003) and 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and Fast & Furious (2009) (2009), X-Men: First Class (2011) and Fast Five (2011) (2011) and The Wolverine (2013) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013) (2013). Furious 7 (2015) was set to be released in 2014, the same year as X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), however it then was pushed to 2015 after Paul Walker's death.
I remember when this movie leaked online early without most of the visual effects done, it didn't look any better for the actual release.
So since it says “x-men origins: “ were they planning to make a series of spin off movies of the other characters??
Jordan Miller they were. There was supposed to be a Magneto one but they just incorporated it into First Class.
Hey Nick, Jackman actually talked about his cut/veiny look in an Interview with Stephen Colbert, if I'm not mistaken.
What he would do is go about 2-3 days without water, like an MMA fighter before getting weighed. That way he would loose all this water weight and look ripped as fuck for the camera in the days he had to take his shirt off.
Dude was roided up plain and simple. No way you’re getting that big and cut at the same time.
1:30:58 #AndyWasRight
I need a Harry Potter or James Bond 'in review'
Lynn Collins, who played Silverfox in this pile, also played Dejah Thoris, the Princess of Mars, in John Carter.
Jesse Reed
Damn, she had bad luck lol
Please do James Bond in review next please
Andy: I want this studio to shut down
Disney: Give us a year
I feel the XCU lacked a Kevin Feige to oversee everything and keep consistency.
The amazing thing is... how hard can it be to keep consistency?
Seeing how Fox and WB have struggled, it seems that it's harder than we imagine...or they just don't care :B
Kevin is completely mixing up movies Scott Summers from origins and Scott from Apocalypse
I loved this in theaters, we had free tickets and they fucked up Gambit & Deadpool but it was an absolute joy!
Itd be cool if you guys did the Nolan movies in review at some point
These Pretzels Are Making Me Thirsty That would be one of the shows I wish Colin would've been around for. He would have defended TDKR well. I fear that and Begins would just get panned in the usual fashion, even if they spend an hour or so talking about everything that's good about them!
Thomas Gardner Feel like if the crew revisited Begins, they'd love it.
For Recreational Use Only I hope they love it if they do, I feel like it's overshadowed by people loving TDK and hating TDKR most of the time. There are so many trilogys and series for them to Review though, I wouldn't even know where to go next if I were the guys.
DCEU seems like it could be good to line up with Aquaman near the end of the year. I'd personally love to see Transformers and hear what they all have to say.
HAHAHA! Kevin's right! He was knocked out! For the longest time I thought he died too hahaha! But that's also accurate- Adamantium's invincible -- but the metal ding would definitely knock the dude out. Maybe if Wolverine's metal was made out of vibranium.
I saw the movie in theaters and it was... Not great.
The video game however, was fun as hell. Buggier than Texas in July, (I remember having to restart several levels for falling through the floor, not being able to touch something that advanced the story, etc) but fun as hell.
Stryker was the lead vampire in 30 days of night nick
You're mixing up quite a lot of moments from 'Days of Future Past' and 'Apocalypse'
Like Scott - he doesn't wear glasses in Apocalypse while in class, his eyes just suddenly start hurting more - and yeah.. That school needs a new toilet
Hank makes him the glasses when Alex bring him to the mutant school
Heady Topper is from Vermont. hoppy AF
Danny housten(striker) was the lead vamp in 30 days of night
Eric Louis yea, he's a pretty good actor tbh
Bullet did not penetrate adamantium skull
For "The Wolverine" they should watch the unrated extended cut. It's bloodier, and that fight with the ninjas in the village is longer.
Wait none of yall read the wolverine origins comic? The open scene is literally lifted from that...it wasn’t well done but the context is there just not in the movie itself lol
Eric Louis it was somewhat there. The comic is actually pretty good but this was a bad interpretation.
Based on watching these movies last (about 10 years ago) my ranking would be.
1. X-2
2. X-Men
3. Origins Wolverine
4. X-3
The whole silver fox doesnt actually love logan thing reminds me of that idea Tim had for ruining someones life.
“Two words: Kevin Mother Fucking Bacon” - Nick Scarpino, 2018
🤔
I think this movie is at least passable until Zero shows up after Logan visits the old couple
If anyone here likes X-Men and manga, I’d recommend the manga AJIN: Demi-Human. It’s not one for one, but it’s a similar series with an interesting take on something like mutants. There’s an anime on Netflix too, but the manga is a lot better.
IMO this is the best X-men film out of the 4 so far.
Having never seen this movie before, I loved it at the start but my god did it do a 180 on me
Will pay endless amounts of money for a lord of the rings in review. They will all be so surprised how fucking phenomenal those films are
My personal ranking -
1 : X-Men 2, forgot how perfect this film is, that fight between Wolverine and Lady Death-strike I still count as one of the best comic books fight scenes ever
2: X-men, A very good film, a bit dated in some ways, but gets extra credit for being the start of the comic book film trend
3: X-Men The Last Stand, an embarrassment of a sequel to the previously thoughtful and slower paced Singer films, his films allowed for time to breathe and to explore the characters, whilst Rattner devolves this film into generic non stop action with characters that seem completely different to how they were before
4: X-Men Origins:Wolverine, just....*sigh*
Watched First Class last week. If that's not first place i'll throw myself through a window.
Not a good movie, but the review was classic! Topped off by Greg almost losing his drink during "Wiggin' Out With Scarpino!" #NoWigs LMAO
Love you guys. Although, there must be a way to avoid eating on camera during this show. Also this movie was terrible but I’m excited for the Wolverine and really excited for Logan. Crazy to think the studio gave them three cracks at a solo Wolverine movie.
Nick Vandersteen
Eating doesn’t affect anything and it’s not crazy they gave wolverine so many chances. He’s literally one most popular X-men/marvel characters ever.
Wolverine and water is written super inconsistently between writers. In some comics he can swim perfectly fine. In others water is his kryptonite. Not a big fan of the water can kill him angle, but what're you gonna do.
I've seen him swim great but he should die from a lack of oxygen, wheather in water, space etc...
Did y’all notice when Wade stabbed the people in the scene his swords have no blood what so ever
LOVE THAT FUCKING INTRO
Taylor Kitsch was in something good... "Waco". A mini series about David Koresh and his religious group. So good.
FRIDAY. NIGHT. LIGHTS.
Kinda Funny Games Big Tim Riggins haha
That role was made for him. quality tv series
Can't agree more with Greg that X3 is the worst and this one was just above it. While this was NOT the Wolverine origin movie we wanted, a Wolverine origin movie was not "unnecessary" as Tim stupidly keeps saying. Some parts of this were good. How long Logan has been fighting, a few good beats and nods to Department H, Team X, Weapon X, Alpha Flight, Sabertooth, Silverfox, and the James Howlett origin from Wolverine: Origins comic. Yes it had absolute flaws, but this movie, like Greg said, is not as much of an affront to the first two X-Men films as the Last stand was for sure!
Why can't Nick pronounce Liev correctly?
Did they ever explain why He changed his name from Jimmy to Logan?
Vita Vegeta in the comic it’s based off of, Mr. Logan was the name of the groundskeeper/his dad. Of course the movie just starts calling him Logan for no reason
It seemed like a Fast and Furious movie made in the X-Men Universe. Style over substance
I didn't think The Wolverine was very good either...but I think that one was received well.
TheHOOfan1 it wasn't great but I found it to be more faithful to the character.
Anybody else see when they accidentally uploaded this yesterday?
MegaFun I did, but didn't push play in time :/
It's a subtle nod to how the movie got leaked ;)
X-Men The Last Stand makes Thor The Dark World look like The Dark Knight.
My personal rankings so far:
1) X2: X-Men United
2) X-Men: The Last Stand
3) X-Men Origins: Wolverine
4) X-Men
Guys, Greg is totally right about the Cyclops stuff. He definitely already had the powers and the headache thing was just an excuse. It was just dumb because they didn't wrap around his eyes, meaning they wouldn't adequately block his powers. It also doesn't make sense that Scott is in regular school. In the timeline, he would have been younger and at Xavier's already. This movie sucks, haha.
Thank God we’ve now waded through all the shit of the XCU.
We fucking know what you mean, Greg!
the only thing good thing that came out of this movie is the video game and i guess the outcry it drew for an actual deadpool movie which we finally got. so not all terrible
Rank Those Abs 31:25
To quote Nick, “Two things”
1. Hurt that this posted yesterday and got taken down. You guys should have just left it 🤦🏽♂️
2. Should we be concerned that Kevin keeps wearing sunglasses?
I agree with Tim, the director was reaching with those comments 😂
What got me about that first scene isIf it wasn't his real dad why did he look like huge jackman
I had fun with it
I think there were no exit wounds because of the pg-13 rating.
The Wolverine should be below Wolverine Origins, First Class will be first and then second once we get to Days of Future Past.
Heady Topper is the best IPA of all time.
The origin movie that didn't do any of the origin... :(
If I'm not mistaken, this movie happened during the writer's strike. That's why it's so poorly written
Not only was there a writer’s strike, but the script was being written as they filmed it.
MadRooster Truths.
2nd3rd1st but so did iron man and the dark knight
This movie is missing a terrible Halle Barry wig
