  • Former Manchester United team-mates Teddy Sheringham and Gary Neville talk about the brilliance of David Beckham.
From his humble beginnings in East London to a global superstar, Neville and Sheringham give an incredible insight into why Beckham succeeded in football and more.
We discuss his technical ability, his fallout with 'parent' Sir Alex Ferguson, as well as his move from MUFC to Real Madrid, and why he went on to star at AC Milan, PSG and LA Galaxy. We also look at why his interest in Inter Miami is the continuation of a theme of boldness and brilliance.

@Joe Bloggs I look at each players involvements in those 2 goals as somewhat fate and typical of the players involved. Becks with his typical never say die spirit with the crosses, Teddy with his typical intelligence scrambling the ball on target for the first goal, then flicking the ball into a typically intelligent area for Ole to typically flick a leg to turn the ball in a direction to typically give keeper no chance. Of course all only possible because of Keanos typical team play and competeitive drive in the semis. Good Times.

I don't like Beckham as a person tbh, I think he's a fake, but I can't dispute that he gave everything on the pitch for England. The myth is that he dragged us single handedly into a world cup against Greece, which is sort of true (ie he pretty much did win that match on his own, but we would have gone to a play-off if we lost, which we probably would have won to get into the WC anyway), but as someone who gave up on club football a long time ago, I never, ever got the feeling that he wasn't giving everything for England.
I think playing for their country is a negative to many England players these days. It doesn't pay the bills, and unless you do well in a major international championship, it doesn't add value to your 'brand' and you could get injured which messes up your club career. Beckham was one of the holdovers from the previous generation, where they all played because it benefited them personally, as well as the patriotic aspect, and I will always respect him for his contribution to England.

A defence would align for a Giggs cross and five to ten seconds later they would be in disarray facing a cross from Beckham. Never seen a side doing this as efficiently before nor since.
