They're going in all guns blazing to quote one of their players
Northampton are a class side, both on and off the pitch. They'll be prepared for the caldron. I'm betting that Croke Park or not, Leinster will have a bit too much, and I'm sure the team will be ultra focused on their game and not the white noise. As an Ulster fan I'll be supporting the lads in blue to bring it home, but it'll be no 'day in the park' against the Saints.
Boks need to beat Ireland first for it to be rivalry. In recent years there's only been one shade of superior green and Im afraid it isn't ours. Go Bokke!
It was just a brief 10 minute talk apparently so Northampton wont be weighed down with the full weight of irish history...đđđđđ
Croke Park is probably at the same level [if not more] as Eden Park is to New Zealand with the pressure of not losing rather than winning, even more pressure with an England team playing, Hopefully, we get a good match like the last 6 nations' game against England in Croke Park
Last 3 time sa bottle job,s when they play the irish.đđđđ
Yawn
Matt Williams sharing his opinions on cricket, even less interesting than his one eyed opinions on Rugby.
Lads they'll use croke park as in its a special stadium and every irish persons dream to play there. The occasion, the selecte few rugby players who've played there and so on. I dont think they'll be using the English/Irish view on it.
Wasnt all this done back in 2007 with ireland v england,no need to drag it back up again.
Not one member of the current squad was on the 2007 team
@Sineadhawk I'm quite aware,thanks for the reminder.
2007 was special for its own reasons. Croke is still Croke park, a special stadium for the Irish an an honour to play there. Its the biggest stadium in the world to play rugby in.
ROC is worse than George Hook đđđ
Give it rest .
Get a grip OTB pundits. There was over 1,600 years of Gaelic rule and culture on the island of Ireland and there will possibly be 1,600 more if global warming doesn't put us under water. Colonization was a blip. This is invented media drama over very little. It's 2024, not revolutionary Ireland 1920s, or plantation 16th/17th centuries.
'Gotten'. Sounds ridiculous.
BOD is a legend.
Really loving how a lot of the SA coaches are being so open with their thoughts and opinions ( John Dobson, Rassie and Nieneber in the national Team, Jake Whyte writing articles in Rugbypass) it really adds a lot of entertainment value to the competitions they are involved in.
This makes no sense. Bench should have an impact on the game. If you want to see just gaps and trys watch 7s.
What rivalry đ Springboks rivals are the All Blacks and England Ireland are irrelevant to us
Pathetic!
Great to hear aimer, one of my favourite players over the last 4/5 yrs,is she as good on her right foot..
Is this Tyrone gaa TV or what, who won the game đ€
Fiona hayes. Lovely girl , worst accent on the planet . I have to switch off when sheâs commentating. I donât think women should be commenting on menâs game.
Lads could you please drop the American sport rubbish and also any farming stuff. As soon as ihere either i think about turning off. Its a hurling pod; the clue is in the name.
I remember hearing emelyn Hughes comentating on the radio in absolute tears, when i got home it was live on television and the thing that stays with me,was a juventus supporter with a gun in his hand
Everyone forgets how badly juventus hooligans behaved. The rioted for at least one hour. Attacking fans and police. Even before the trouble they were throwing missiles
Arrogance ! Bad mouthed the ABs, Reiko replied after the game ! Got what they deserved !
I am a South African and I fully support Ireland believing in themselves. They have earned the right to talk a big game and so they should. Nobody is winning anything if there isnât a ton of self confidence.
Skehill NFL talk snooze
Absolute bollocks.Eveyone is entitled to their opinion but when someone tries to make out that opinion is widely held by others they just sound foolish .
this isn't analysis, it's 'vibes', and they don't make a dot of difference at the top level of professional sport. Ireland are a good team because of the quality of their players and coaching, nothing else
More BS from this shower who have nothing better to talk about.
This Dobson guy has a lot to say for himself for a guy whose team are struggling to make the play-offs.
I would say not rotating that squad properly. Itâs a marathon, not a sprint
Nobody is forgetting the NZ team. They're waiting in the long grass. It's just much better for rugby to have more than two brilliant teams. Im delighted Ireland, France and England are up there now. Hopefully, the others will catch up. Its much more exciting before a game, not really knowing who's going to win. I hope it stays this way for rugby's sake đ
What a man
I'm tired of this BS. For the first time in Irish Rugby history, we weren't pessimistic and playing ourselves down. We finally said to ourselves we belong amongst the best teams in the world and have earned the right to feel confident in our abilities as a rugby nation and the first chance they get, the rest of the world calls us arrogant and that we disrespect our opponents. Typical OTB peddling this crap in order to get clicks because they have lost 10s of thousands of subscribers because they moronically put themselves behind a pay wall just so they could try and extract money from people.
Beautiful answer..OTB. Such a bunch NOBODY ANALYSTS.!!
Have you really âearnedâ the right though?
@mtabrahams We have won back to back 6 nations. We have beaten the world Cup finalists in a 3 match test series away. We beat the eventual winners of the world Cup in the group stages. I would say Ireland as a rugby team have earned their stripes and shouldn't feel inferior anymore as the likes of South Africa and New Zealand expect us to be. They are allowed to feel proud and confident in their abilities. The Irish Rugby team has always respected their opponents and have never downplayed them. It has been the likes of OTB talking nonsense in the media that gets picked up by outlets abroad. They do not speak for Irish Rugby, Irish fans or Ireland.
@@dublin7 the manner in which the Irish went about the previous WC was not the way a true championship team does it. Playing a full strength team week in and week out shows 2 things. The lack of confidence the coaches has with the entire squad and the huge gap between a starter and the respective substitute. Itâs almost as if they expended everything just to get out the pool, setup to fall out of a QF, yet again. Until the Irish can build deep depth, they always remain a good team but will ultimately will fall short all the time.
@mtabrahams the Irish Rugby team, has more than enough depth, but the coaching staff lacked confidence during the group stages to make changes game to game as the group was so strong with South Africa.amd scotland in the group. One loss and they fought an already uphill battle to get through. I think since the world Cup, Ireland have seen that playing the same 15 week in and week out is not sustainable in tournament competition. I think Ireland playing their strongest 15 is actually a mark of respect as they hold other teams in such high esteem that they would field their strongest team week and week out. Ireland learned the hard way that you need to use your depth. A lesson they won't forget anytime soon.
always the Boks, or NZ, or Australia (maybe England once)....in WCs
ROBBIE KEANE LOVE ISRAEL MORE THEN ANYONE KNOWS , HE KNOWS ALL THE FAKE PALESTINE HAMAS JUNK ,
Not to mention a 3 series test win in NZ! Thatâs something very rare indeed even for the Lions. Home nations are just jealous and SA are a bit like wales of oldâŠdonât win much in the domestic competitions but turn it on for Internationals.
How did South Africa enter this chat? We've played 2 urc season. 3 teams out of 4 in the finals. Thats basically with second string sides because we have so many players playing abroad. Hey we even had 2 players in last years winning team. Go talk kak somewhere else
âit was in the video. Maybe open your eyes and ears.@@dn822
Rare? No other professional team has ever done it..
McGuinness will out wit McGeeney who will end his reign with no silverware.
Yeah I like John Dobson and he always talks a lot of sense. The Irish v SA rivalry is what is making the URC great. Glasgow, Benetton and some of the other teams are also contributing significantly as well. You canât take any team lightly. But Irelands elevation the last few years has managed to replace the rivalry that SA had with the ABs which is remarkable and something g I wouldnât have thought possible a number of years ago.
If players were going around saying see you in the final then theyâre idiots. I donât however think that complacency was the reason they lost to NZ. NZ turned it on on the day and were just that little bit too good. We still could have won it if Kelleher had been able to dot down. It was that close. In all though we have a great record over the last two and a half years have won a couple of six nations, and Munster a URC title itâs probably not enough to show for how good Ireland and Leinster for that matter have been during that time.
They excell only when playing the second stringers, otherwise they are pathetic.
The group stages are an absolute farce, Kerry in with Louth and Meath.
Not as big of a farce as the leinster championship. Dublin with 80%+ of the population playing the rest.
Great podcast lads as always.
Complete rubbish.
