  • This video will show you the easiest and cheapest way to flush your motorcycle’s old brake fluid and bleed any air out of the brake lines. This is a very quick procedure and should only take about 20 minutes. After watching this, you'll know exactly how to bleed motorcycle brakes by yourself.
    Although I'm bleeding the brakes on my Yamaha R3 in this video, the procedure is applicable to most motorcycles.
    Do this Brake Job for Under 20 Dollars:
    Brake Fluid - $7 at Autozone
    Hose - $1.50 at HomeDepot (or $8.00 on Amazon amzn.to/31jbAMe)
    Baster - $4.09 (amzn.to/3fu3AwV)
    Combination Wrench - $4.58 (amzn.to/3i4LC61)
    Bottle - Free
    ______________________________
    Total - $17.17 (before tax)
    If you don't want to build a bleeder bottle, this is the bottle I purchased from Amazon (but didn't use):
    Allstar Bleeder: amzn.to/39SUN6T
    My friend recommended this JIS screwdriver for fasteners on Japanese bikes:
    Vessel JIS Screwdriver - amzn.to/3i37NcH
    Aero Kroil Penetrating Oil - amzn.to/3k8nn8U

    Thanks so much for this! I'm on my Ls and I did a hard brake the other day because someone was speeding and had to press the brakes real hard and noticed a bleed today! Gonna check it out. Wish me luck!

    So good brake fluid should look clear and not yellowish? Cause I purachase some at cycle gear they recommend me for my 2017 yamaha r3 and it's clear looking in the bottle but my bikes look yellowish

    • @jeffycr3169
      @jeffycr3169  Před 2 lety +1

      Exactly, new brake fluid will look almost clear (maybe a slightly yellow tint to it) but old fluid will look amber or brown

      It's a Scorpion EXO R420 - I bought it as my first helmet and it served me well

      @@jeffycr3169 hows the wind noise at highway speeds? I got a Simpson speed bandit for $300 but the wind noise is so damn loud i need earplugs

    • @jeffycr3169
      @jeffycr3169  Před rokem

      @kade272 The wind noise really wasn't too bad, especially considering the price of the helmet, but I've since upgraded to an Arai Defiant-X. I think regardless of the helmet you wear, earplugs are probably good for highway riding in general.

    Why do some videos show people pump the brake a few times then open and close the bleeder? Is there a reason that the bleeder cannot stay open the entire time?

    • @jeffycr3169
      @jeffycr3169  Před 2 lety +2

      Pumping multiple times to build up pressure and then opening the bleeder valve to release the fluid is a perfectly good way of doing it, so long as you close the valve before letting off the brake. This is done to prevent any air from getting back into the hose and brake lines. Submerging the end of the hose in brake fluid in the bottle negates the need to do this, because the fluid in the bottle blocks air from re-entering the system.

      @@jeffycr3169 Thank you for the response! I just finished bleeding them a few minutes ago with the help of your video so thank you thank you for posting this. Now I have to see if how to go about fixing the leak coming from my right fork. 😩
