Today I work on an actual dirty, crusty, 1:18 Scale Hot Merc Woody Wagon. This thing lived in a box in someone's garage that had water damage. The whole thing reeked like cat pee, all the crust on that thing is the real deal, look at the interior its so gross.

Before y’all get mad that it’s to dark. Go look at this pics in Instagram lol. She’s a beauty @diecast_resurrection
Diecast Resurrection I have an 1/18 scale el Camino. Needs some work.
How do I send you cars
OMG I fell in love.. this wagon is got a sexy paint job...
This guys so funny. Lol
@diecast_resurrection crome foil tape would probably work great for these bigger builds
Great video! I build radio controlled airplanes and use CA glue (instant glue) and accelerator (Insta-set)extensively. If you want to pin point the accelerator instead of it spraying all over your project, get a cork and trim it to fit in the top of the bottle. Then get a piece of wire (I used a bobby pin) long enough to push into the cork, bend a small loop in the other end still be close to the bottom of the bottle. Remove the sprayer. When you dip the wire in the bottle, it will hold a drop of the accelerator. Just touch it to your glue joint and it will set. Just put it back in the bottle and seat the cork so it doesn’t spill or evaporate. This uses a lot less and your accelerator will last much longer.
That repainted dashboard looks amazing. Its the small details that make a great build
You have some valuable and necessary assets….patience, a sense of humor, self- criticism, and quality skills...nice work and best wishes from Kauai.
Looked for a light teal... Ended up with a deep emerald. Looks great either way!
"little bit of green in the blue..." Not sure if this fella's colorblind or if the color balance of the camera is off, but it sure sure looks deep green from this side of the screen!
The paint came out way great show condition just the wood now looks like plastic maybe a darker grain?
I love your work. What I appreciate most along with how amazing your talents are is that you teach while doing. That to me is what makes you an amazing hobbyist and content creator. Thanks for another great one!
Awesome ride , when I was a kid my father built a 1970 station wagon and painted it that color . It had a 572 big block in it , every one called the car a street sweeper.
It’s 2am in the uk I have work at 6 but die-cast resurrection is more important than sleep 🤘🏼
You are a madman Josh.. Go to bed!
Diecast Resurrection I don’t regret it 🤣 the feeling of death is worth every single candy blessing of the eyes
Came for the restoration stayed for the sound effects, good job man.
Beautiful, sir!
Your paint work is pretty amazing. This two parter was time well spent, thanks! It seems like these bigger cars might be good for led lights...maybe?
Very nice paint. As a collision specialist i appreciate the attention to the detail on your paint work.the buffing is absolutely a must to get that final mirror gloss. Keep doing great work.waiting on your next vid
Crazy work, I love it ! It would look amazing you added some detail to the wood parts with a dry brush and some diluted brown paint, so that you can give the illusion of real wood ! The candy paint is incredible !
In my personal opinion by far one of the best colors you have used. Took it to the next level. Great job keep them coming.
Man, I wouldn't want to give this back. I think this one came out better than the 'vette and the T/A!!! Your painting skills are off the hook!!!! So impressive!!! KUDOS!!!!
That paint job, amazing. And I know these videos don’t do it justice, that’s a lot of work put into getting it to look that good.
I was kinda disappointed seeing the car at first but when you shined the light on it, my jaw hit the keyboard...WOW!
YASSSSSS!!
Ive been waiting for this video:)
BEAUTIFUL
This paint job is INSANE:)
Perfect paint job.
Perfect.
Would love to see more of these. Wheel swap? Working LED lights?
The sky's the limit.
The trim looks awesome. Looks like polished stainless trim which has a much more feel of realism. Much better than the chrome. Nice work.
Final results really made me smile paint on this Mercury 2nd to none!
"Gave the trunk a brazillian"... Lmao 😂😂😂
One easy trick for chrome: I glue some aluminium paper on the piece and I cut very precisely around the shape. After driing, I spray some varnish and it shines like chrome ;)
You do incredible work. That paint job is badass.
Had to watch this video so I could appreciate the BEAUTIFUL paint color.:)
I used to be pretty good at painting chrome but now in my "golden years" I have a mild tremor in my hands, so my wife does the chrome work now. She does a very nice job.
That green is badass. Some white pearl over the lighter wood trim would be cool.
You promised an amazing shine and I have to say you delivered sir. I held onto my hat, but then my socks flew off. I was clearly not prepared.
Hells Yeah, another pimp video from Die-cast Resurrection!
I love Love LOVE the pint color! I drove a 1968 Chevy Impala when I was in HS in the 80s. I was the second owner and the original color was an olive green. I always said, I wanted to restore it and paint it a candy apple Money green color. You nailed the color I imagined all those years ago. Sadly, I drove that car more miles in the two and a half years I had it than it had been driven for its entire life to that point. I just couldn't handle all the use and I had to get rid of it.
I find your videos fascinating and informative. Love those big car restorations. Thanks for sharing your work.
That paint is mind blowing! Going back to watt the first video to see the mix. This is a perfect build. The color change is sooooooo sweet!
Awesome! The paint job looks so beautiful that now I want my bicycle in the same candy green.
Well done amigo!!
The paint master. Another great resto-custom!
Excellent work. Love watching you work on 1:18 scale cars. I've seen a few guys do them but they were using rattle cans and not really paying attention to detail like yourself. Hopefully you get more to work on.
So much fun to watch! Absolutely beautiful paint job!
Amazing! Love the sparkle shining through the clear!
This is the most detailed work I have seen you do so far. Your skills and efforts are amazing. It came out great.
Thanks Buddy!
Jimmy's gonna enjoy *blubbin' down the boulevard* in that beauty!!!
Thats 1 Badass Woody And I Really Like The Paint Job How It Ties In With The Wood And It Turned Out Awesome!!!!
Man that paint job is just amazing. Probably the best I've seen on any channel like this.
The car is a home run!!! And the dash is super cool. Love the color choices.
Blub blub blub!!!!!
Man, that polishing wheel was shedding like an angora sweater!
Congrats to you on a really great resto on the Woody , look forward to the next 1/18 scale model.
Love the larger scales. Great job and love how the paint turned out. It looked so desperately bad after the wet sand.
Turned out amazing. I think the quick silver looks better than regular chrome anyways! Good job
Fantastic work as usual, great choice on the paint.
Yeah, it came out a little dark but the diff out in the sunshine is amazing. My favorite part is sand blasting. That step visually alters the project so much, in some cases it looks as though you could call done. But the paint step is why you keep going. Thanks for the video.
I was expecting a lighter color, but this looks way cooler! Nice job with this one man, can’t wait for the next.
Impresionante!! Excelente trabajo seguí así. 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
That’s one of the best paint jobs you’ve done. It’s clearer to see on the bigger cars. Love it! Well done and can’t wait to see the next. Here’s a hint, try manscaping one grade shorter to prevent paint pubes 🤣🤣🤣.
It looks incredible. 100 times better that when you started.
You sir, are some sort of magician. Even if had anything like your paint skills I'm damn sure I wouldn't be able to remember how it all went back together ! Thanks for another great episode !
Sweet paint job! Looks frickin awesome!
I used automotive chrome trim tape to do all the door trim etc on my 1:24 American big rigs, easy to imprint over surface details and I was happy with the results.
So pretty... Paint is awesome. Loving these big cars. Was checking every day for part 2!
Fantasic work there. The finished colour is amazing and suits the car great .
For chrome paint check out alclads chrome paint and their clear coat its the best chrome paint ive ever seen and their clear works wonders with it
I use Alclads II on my RC bodies, it comes out like a mirror
The paint is beautiful. Really wish you had done something special with the wheels and interior in a part 3 to match. Looks legit anyway!
I honestly don’t know the first thing about gold leaf other than what I’ve seen other artists use it on. Perhaps you could use the white gold leaf for chrome. Amazing job, you should be proud of yourself.
From what you started out with I'm utterly impressed. Over the top job, you always seem to out do yourself.
Wow,that looks AWSOME!You have a talent sir.👍
Magnifique restauration !
Un grand bravo !!!!!
Beautiful restoration !
Congratulations !!!!!
It is the first time I see your videos and I like it. You could restore trucks from the 70s and 80s, it would be very cool, friend. I know you can do it.
That paint job is drool worthy! Just gorgeous
Simply awesome. I like that 3m polish. I use the Flitz at the moment, but will look for that 3m. You always do such an amazing, detailed job. Hope you do another 1:64 soon as well.
Looks fresh! The paint color is awesome. I want to try and learn how to do restore hot wheels like you.
You're the Michaelangelo of diecast restoration. 👍
what a beautiful result, that Mercury has never looked better 😎👍
Really cool paint job, amazing..!!
You couldn't have done more of a badass job than you did. That looks pretty damn good.
The job is amazing! I love what you did with the vette and other cars!
Nice refraction on the paint literally pops as the light hits it
Amazing video and thanks for sharing with us
Instaset cologne. A must for any father's day gift or Christmas. Guaranteed to make sure you have plenty of alone time to work on your hobby. Hell yeah man :)
Another awesome job, Austin, looks beautiful!
Stunning ..detail the interior as you promised. I was looking forward to that part, how you did that. You are friggen good man🤙🏻🤙🏻
So beautiful. Great job!
Oh man! I can smell the ocean breeze already! Outrageously awesome bub! That is so BOSS!
Awesome loving the paint work looks pearlescent
Fantastic job , held my breath whilst you were putting back together lol.
kim phillips that segment was like ten minutes long
It came out a little bit dark for my liking, but it was done exceptionally well. That makes up for it. My hat is off to you. Kudos for a great job.
Love that sparkle. Nice job.
Paint turned out perfect 🔥🔥🔥‼️
Amazing job I like these bigger scales much more detail well done mate Brian Thailand
My papaw was a paint and body man and I remember him being nervous as a long tailed cat in a room of rocking chairs putting trim back on after a paint job..... You had that same nervousness putting that door back on.... Brother you are a damn artist!
Turned out great, out in the natural sun that paint would sparkle..yrs after the dairy..my step dad and I built/ restored classics and street rods..would still be doing it, unfortunately I lost him to cancer ... Miss ya Dad...we had some great times.💗
This would looks awesome in midnight metallic blue, dark wood panels, and gold trim/wheels. Also you should get a microfiber cloth to clean cars!
Saaweeeet!!!👍👍👍loving that color....goes great with those blonde wood panels.... that is one awesome paint job!!!
Outstanding work looks great .
Nice paint job buddy , well done.
overall...really nice resto/mod; my personal taste woulda been tint interior, door panels, woody sides to a light oak to add a bit of depth
I'm really digging the teal darker like that. The quick silver on the trim .... maybe it's just the way it looks on my end but it sorta looks like a pewter finish....I like it !
The whole car ties together very well !
Mega thumbs up ! 👍🍻
Amazing! If you want more 1:18 scale cars to do, post an address/ P.O. Box and I’m sure they’ll come flooding in! Great video, thank you!
Beautiful car, my uncle had the real thing, only in wineberry, with dice on the rear view mirror, and a huge rose decal, on the centre of the dash.. You do fantastic work, and I’ve learned so much watching you, do your magic.. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Stayed long enough to hear about the paint pube lol green was the right choice for the woody awesome jab
A great job as usual. Please do more of these bigger models.
WOW that turned out beautiful. What an amazing job.
Man I love that paint, nice job
Total work of art my friend.
You do very nice work......real craftsmanship
