    I think I've seen a couple of the DC Super-Heroes figures pegged at Six Flags when I was young. Aww, those were the good ol' days I remember from childhood. Especially seeing them from like a Superman/Batman themed gift shop from memory.

    @EdsterIII Před 6 měsíci

    Boy I can remember being a kid growing up during the 70's, when Mego's Superheroes were the must have action figures to need. I loved them, except for one thing. The logos of almost every figure was a sticker. Only 🕷🕸Spider-Man's🕸🕷 🕷spider🕷 logo was sewn into the fabric. Otherwise Superman's \S/, Batman's 🦇, Robin's ®️, even Aquaman's /\ was a sticker. Captain America's ⭐Star⭐, and the Fantastic Four's 4️⃣ was an adhesive sticker too. Iron-Man's blaster was a disc that was sewn on, but the yellow dot inside of the disc, was a sticker too. They were still the best toy back then! Except for one other thing. While they did make a lot of the heroes, many of the villains didn't get a figure. Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, some heroes like Black Panther, Daredevil, Flash, Hawkman, and some others were not made. When Star Wars came out, the figures size was actually kind of cool. When the Superheroes came out I was getting too old for them, and sadly I missed out on some great figures I never had as a kid.

      Mission to be A Man Really? Usually when I go to a comic book store I can pick up a DCUC figure for 10 dollars. Also for collecting those type of figures I recommend not using eBay or amazon. For me Amazon and eBay are last resorts

    • @missiontobeaman3111
      @missiontobeaman3111 Před 4 lety

      michhunt I see them at comic shops but usually the more obscure characters or C list characters (Martian man hunter for example) where as joker or robin are more rare so you may need to look to eBay. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve only seen one or two both for like 25 bucks or up at comic shops. Then again I’m from NY where everything is expensive.

    • @mivvy3182
      @mivvy3182 Před 4 lety +1

      Mission to be A Man Oh. Am from Ohio I can usually get the rare characters like riddler and The joker for 25-35 dollars. Am guessing you live in NYC. Maybe try Up state New York there could be some good comic book stores up there.

    • @missiontobeaman3111
      @missiontobeaman3111 Před 4 lety +1

      michhunt nah maybe 45 mins outside the city. Either way only seen a few dcu classics. All 25 or up and not great characters. Willing to pay a bit more for the good ones. Like 30-40 bucks tops. Not a completionist, just wanna get my faves. They’re still the best line of figures I’ve found in my opinion. After tons of looking around.

    Awesome retrospective of the classic DCSH line. I had quite a few of these but sold off a lot of them a while back. Like Catwoman, Clayface, Mr. Freeze and the black and gray Bataman. But I still have the more articulated blue and gray Batman from wave 3, as well as power suite Lex, Mongul, Darkseid, Scarecrow, and Cyborg Supes. Great figures, very bad joints that get really loose over time.

    I enjoy collecting older lines via eBay and other buy/sell formats. I've recently reached the end of a couple series and now have begun dabbling in the S3 Superheroes line, so this video was tremendously helpful and informative for me. My first two are the white tshirt Supergirl and the blue and grey Batman. And I already had the Mongul.

    Etrigan is great. I love the rubbery arms on Clay face. I passed on Catwoman and Batwoman because I had the DC Direct versions. That was a big mistake since they went up in value really fast and steep. I really don't like this line very much because of body bucks, flat faces and limited articulation but I have to admit it had a great character selection.

    Great overview of the line though I wish you'd have mentioned the missing ones by cutting in some promo shots (same for the ones you'd customed). I've never been a big Cassandra Cain fan but that was a fantastic figure, too bad it was so hard to get. Other than the head and belt (and paint job) it is the same sculpt as the Barbara Gordon DCSH Batgirl. I kept hoping that somewhere before the license was gone that they'd reissue it with new gloves (having the wraps around them) and a swappable head (the DCSH one and a new "Black Bat" head). Would love to see you tackle DCUC, GLC, Batman Unlimited, DC Unlimited, etc like this wave-by-wave. Even if you don't have everything, just cut in promo shots of what you don't... Again, great video, Brad, can't wait to see more.

    The top portion of Doomsday's buck is the same as Bizarro's but with the added bones.
    Anyway, this line is just nothing short of fantastic. Sure, some colors or depictions aren't 100% accurate, but the aesthetic they went with is awesome and badass in a lot of cases. These are almost all entirely unique sculpts to each character and what more could I ask for? They are also an excellent mix of sculpt and articulation. I love this set.
    I would even go so far as to say this is the greatest set of figures from any 6-inch toy line. Just go ahead and compare this with Essentials, and the current status quo is abundantly clear.

    I miss the DC Superheroes/Universe Classics style figures so much. I started out with Marvel Legends and these quickly replaced them as my favorite superhero figures to collect.
    There are so many of these and the classics figures I wish I would have gotten when I had the chance back when they were still in shelves. And for my money, the best Batman figure is from the first wave of Universe Classics, but then again I'm partial to the Bats costume from the Jim Aparo/Norm Breyfogle/Marshall Rogers issues I love so much

    Have you tried superglue for fixing loose joints? Apply a tiny amount to the joint, then keep working it for several minutes so that as the glue dries it gums up the joint but doesn't completely solidify it. I have a lot of Toybiz Marvel Legends and early DCSH/DCUC figures that I've given this treatment to and it works really well on hinge joints.
    For loose ball joints I use tiny O-rings designed for sound dampening on mechanical keyboards. They're a couple of pounds/dollars for a bag with 100+ in and they come in multiple colours. Push them over the offending limb and up into the joint and they provide some extra friction to keep the joint tight.
    Black cotton thread works well for loose waist joints, just wind it around the central pivot and keep going until it's nice and tight, then cut off the excess.

    The Superman is probably still my favorite comic book Superman. I think it has the best "S" logo and head sculpt. Both just screams Superman to me. What I don't like however, is how small the head is. It could be a tad bigger. I agree with you on the colors, they seem too dark and muted. If he had been brighter he'd be perfect. The cape is also too long, wish it was cut in half or went to where his knees were. The DCUC Superman was much improved, but the "S" and head sculpt were inferior IMO
    Also, this was a great video, please do more.

    I know he was originally designed for the early-2000s Batman line that preceded DCSH and DCUC, and that only a small number of those figures were released in certain markets. I wonder if it's one of those that you have and not the DCSH version?
