- Today we unbox all 5 basic action figures from the 1995 Kenner Superman Man of Steel collection and also the Hasbro Toyfare Exclusive Eradicator. The 2-Packs from series one will be for a different day, as will the vehicles and other figures from subsequent waves.
I've put Eradicator in this video because this figure originally was meant to be released as part of the Superman Man of Steel collection but never made it to release until Hasbro made it a Toyfare Exclusive.

This is such an underappreciated line. The Superboy and Steel figs, especially. (Way back when, I repainted Superboy to be Mike Allred's Madman. Actually turned out decent!)
I got a superman from this line when I was 4 back in 96 and it started my decade long action-figure collection. Loved it so much but lost it later on. After looking at the packaging (which I hadn't seen in almost 25 years), it just hit me that THIS WAS THE ONE! (holding back tears)
I got alot of these action figures waaay back in 1995 to1997.

This toyline always reminded me of the Nicolas Cage Superman that never was. The costume test photos and concept art of Cage in character look just like these toys anatomically and aesthetically w/ the hairstyle and such!

The first Superman figure will always be my favorite. I just think he it is so well made. Most fans were mad about his hair being long, but I am probably one of the few who thinks it looks cool on him. It makes him look less like Clark Kent. I didn't like how the cape wouldn't stay on, so I glued it with superglue just so it looks more attached.
These figures were my favorite toys for a very long time. Seeing them again certainly brings back a lot of memories.
These figures were awesome. As a kid I was too young to clect Super Powers collection figures so there was a long drought before this line gave us the first Superman figure in years.

Congrats on getting all these Brad! I remember finding still boxed Hunter/Prey 2 pack, Steel and Conduit at a thrift store in Spain several years after the line ended and they were really cool figures!

Cyborg Superman instead of Conduit would have been awesome. Conduit was new and never really took off and Cyborg Superman is the only 1 of the 4 replacement Superman not here. I also love that Kenner made the black suit, also used in the Reign of the Superman when Clark returned.
I dig the sculpts. Superboy in particular looks great.
I had this entire line - and it never occurred to me that Conduit's tentacles fit Steel's hammer perfectly.

These commercials made me feel like I was 5 years old watching the Super Powers commercials.
This may be an urban myth, but I remember reading somewhere that Kenner was hesitant to make a Cyborg Superman simply because the design was too horrific, and they feared kids would think Superman had been blown up and had all the robot parts attached. Not knowing it was actually Hank Henshaw. Strange if true I know.

I think Superman toys never just sell quite as well as Batman. You can get a carded Capture Net Superman from the TAS line for the fraction of the cost of the Combat Belt Superman, and both are the "primary costume" variant in their respective lines.

This Superboy figure looks like he would grow up to be that black-coated greaser Superman variant released around the same time.
i took some kind of putty or something and made superboy a little pair of (permanently attached) sunglasses. looked so much better
Really like the symbolic tagline : don't mess with the 's', got quite a catch
Given that while wearing this suit, he wasn't yet at full power, makes sense Superman is struggling to hold such a large gun. As a kid I use to use that gun as Steel's "toastmaster" that White Rabbit was dealing on the streets.

I feel like this is secretly the Burton/Cage line of figures.
Don't forget to get that chrome deluxe steel figure without the s shield, he's a variant that s comic accurate

I remember Lex Luther with a kind of Hornet looking technology. Originally bought the line for those cards featuring artwork of the legendary Joe Jusko.

Dmitri Najim Itâs not a stupid question. đ The DC Universe classics versions are good and the DC Direct versions have the best sculpts. These are the smallest of the 3 sets.
